This salon is amazing! If you want a real nice salon feel this is the place for you! Michelle has been doing my hair for years, and every time it turns out flawless!!! She is the only hair stylist I trust with my hair, I would definitely recommend her, she will work with you to schedule an appointment, and really will put in the effort to make sure you are satisfied with your hair color/​cut. If you have a specific hair cut and or hair color you would like to try on your hair, I would recommend doing a little research on Pinterest, Google, tumblr, etc. And find some pictures of what exactly you want your hair to look like and she can match It as closely as possible. A few years ago I wanted a long A-​line ombré like Miley Cyrus, and compared my hair and the picture I showed her side by side and it looked identical. She’s not afraid to be creative, and neither should you!
One word!!! AMAZING!!!
I am highly satisfied every time I come, not to mention my hair feels super silky smooth after it is done being styled.

I’ve been going to Julie for a few months but often had appointments rescheduled last minute. This week I had an appointment — cleared my calendar and showed up to find the salon locked! No one was there and the phone number is disconnected. What the??? I even had a text confirmation of my appt.

Avoid the Groupon deals from this salon. It’s nearly impossible to get a hold of someone when you call or email them. Not worth the headache, especially for a prepaid deal.

Michelle is phenomenal. I had dry damaged and just dreary hair and I was so lucky to find her before my wedding. Everyone who sees the photos comments on how great my hair looked loose curls and highlights. I dont know what I would have done without her. I am a customer for life!

I bought a Groupon deal for a haircut & color for around $ 69. I used my Groupon this past January 2015 with Michelle Lara for a haircut and partial highlights. She was very friendly and I didn’t feel rushed. This was the first time in about 15 years that I hadn’t had any color put into my hair so I was a little worried about the outcome. I told Michelle I wanted something that was going to be noticeable but not too dramatic. I also told her that I wanted something that would cover a little bit of gray hairs and not look bad after the color grew out. I guess I was hoping and expecting Michelle to show me some hair samples so I could maybe see what I’d be getting or ask me what I wanted. No hair samples or anything. She just went into the other room and mixed together what she thought I would like based on what I told her. When all was done, it looked okay, not great. When I got home, later in the evening I looked at my new highlights in a well lit bathroom and my hair looked like it had a brassy and greenish tinge to it. I wasn’t liking it. I also noticed that Michelle didn’t apply the color all the way to the root /​base of the hair. There was a good ¼ inch of hair near my scalp that was not colored. I was not happy. After several days to a week my highlights were still brassy and had a greenish tinge so I called the owner and left her a message. She did call me back but I never actually spoke to her because I realized there was no point and I didn’t want any more of my time to be wasted. You really do get what you pay for. Cheap Groupon deal = not very experienced haircutter /​colorist.
Oh yeah, she offered me some water and when I said «yes» she never brought me the water. I had to ask her for water. And I was never offered a refill on my water. Also, I was not offered a magazine to read while I sat there for several hours getting my hair done.
Sorry To Dye For, you are not the salon for me.

I’ve come here a few times and always have had Michelle do my cut and color. She does a great job and is super friendly! I totally recommend her. I was new to the area a year ago and tried a few places out, but found her and I’m defiantly not going any where else!

When you call To Dye For, you will never reach a live person. The salon relies on voice mail and texts to communicate with its clients, which can often result in crossed lines and mistakes. Such is the case today when I had an appointment with Julie. She was no where to be found when I arrived. She claims she texted me this morning to reschedule, but I didn’t receive a text, so… A for effort?
After a game of texting telephone via Tricia, I was told she wasn’t coming at all. So I spent 30 minutes of my afternoon (and babysitter budget) standing around the salon for no reason.
I’m sure the ladies here are skilled at their trade, but unfortunately have a lousy standard of customer service.

Called and set up an appointment. Came to the salon for my appointment and it was closed. The whole place was a ghost town. Called salon and hair stylists phone numbers. Left messages. Three days later no response. Thoroughly upset and disappointed. I am a first time client and it doesn’t surprise me that they are closed on a busy Saturday. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!

First off, I want to take the moment and say Julie is beyond amazing at what she does, from color to cuts I always walk out of this salon feeling BEAUTIFUL! I’ve tried so many different salons in the past and nothing compares… this place is literally to dye for :)

I’ve been searching for years for someone to get the brassiness out of my hair. Booked an appointment with Michelle Lara and she did a color correction on my hair and I FINALLY have the look i was looking for, for years. She listens and knows what looks good. She knew exactly what to do. I loved my hair and the service I got. Great customer service and an adorable place. Thanks so much Michelle!!! You are the $h!t and I couldn’t be any more happier with my hair :)

Today I tried Michelle for a cut and she did an amazing job. She spent plenty of time making sure it was perfect!

To Dye For Salon is an amazing, very clean, place where you can relax and enjoy your personal time. Julie does amazing work cutting, and coloring my hair. I have very thrashed, bleached hair, and she always finds a way to make me look amazing, and keep my hair healthy. Julie makes you feel important, listens to what hair style your looking for, and has the knowledge and ability to make it happen. She is truly an amazing stylist.

If I could give this Salon less than one star I would.
Lets start from the beginning.
It took me over a week to book an appointment because no one would answer the phone. I called at least 2 times a day. When someone FINALLY answered the phone it was the owner of the Salon JULIE (Hi Julie!).
I was supposed to have a referral appointment from my favorite stylist Laura (who has just recently left because of how horrible this salon is) to Melissa (the stylist who always does the hair treatments, who has also just recently left this salon).
Well since Julie had answered the phone that day she took the appointment and booked it for herself. And i did not know this was the situation until i had showed up to the salon.
Not only is she stealing appointments but she is lying to customers.
She had told me that the hair straightening treatment I had originally asked for would work with the Express keratin treatment. This costing me $ 120 dollars.
She had told me when booking the appointment that this would not only straighten my hair but would last for 2 months.
The experience in the actual salon was not what I had expected. I did not have a Consultation appointment before the treatment was done, and while in the salon Julie was very unprepared for the work that was necessary for the amount of hair I have. She had to go to the back of the salon to refill the «keratin» at least 2 times. She was very rough handling with my hair, and had answered personal calls while I was in her chair.
This was my first time getting this Keratin thing done, so I had no idea as to what was expected. I sat through the hour long process not knowing what was going on. When she finished straightening my hair she cut and thinned it. The haircut I’m pleased with. She did exactly what I asked for.
I later found out that the «keratin» she had to keep filling up is not kept in the back where she kept going. It’s kept in another stylists cabinet.
At the end of my appointment I paid $ 170 (including a $ 20 tip).
She told me not to wash my hair for 24 hours.
So 24 hours later I showered and let my hair air dry expecting it to be straight like she had told me over the phone.
Not only was my hair still curly, But it was STILL FRIZZY.
I have asked for a refund, and she was willing to give me $ 40 back. Not even close to half of what I had paid for.
This is BULLSHIT.
This salon is lying to their customers and stealing their money.
DO NOT GO HERE!

I’m so HAPPY!!! I had previously went to another salon in town that ruined my hair. Michelle was able to do a color correction and get me my beautiful color back. She also recommended I do a keratin complex blow out. Not only does my hair look amazing but feels better than it ever has.
The salon is a piece of heaven. Interior is decorated with such class. I felt comfortable and spoiled!!!
I have found my new hairdresser!!!

Margaret is awesome. She’s the hair artist. She’s personable and gives a great deal of attention to your needs. Highly recommend her.

I finally found someone who can cut, style, and dye my hair. I have been in the Bay Area for 5 years and just now found this place. love love love it!

These ladies know how to style you up! Julie and the girls have been doing my hair for well over 5 years and I couldn’t be more pleased! Cut, color, phyto treatment, facials, or hair-​dos for special occasions, these fabulous ladies do it all! Go visit Julie and tell her I sent you!

Not bad but not great either. If they’d just charge a lot less I’d have been more satisfied with their services but at their prices they should be turning out much better hair. I brought myself and my bridesmaids here and while I won’t speak for them I can say that I ended up having to redo my hair once I got to the ceremony site. I ended up running an hour behind and was very stressed out. If my stylist had performed better or had at the very least communicated better I would have given them another star. But the manager was frequently rude on the phone and my hair stylist barely spoke to me while she did my hair.
If you’re expecting the kind of service that you would get in the Bay Area for the same price you’ll be disappointed. If you compare it to what’s around in Morgan Hill and Gilroy maybe you’ll be satisfied. I just don’t know where they get off charging as much as they do.
