Very tasty food! I ordered the Garlic Beef plate and it was delicious! The chicken salad was really good! Good portions and prices. Service was excellent and will definitely return again.

So many good items to eat it is hard to pick. I love the Chinese chicken salad. The chicken with mushrooms, shrimp and mushrooms. Great people that work there. Can get busy so be patient with the 2 ladies trying to wait on you as it is worth it. Anyone posting about slow service chill out and go in for a nice relaxing dinner or lunch.

My family and I just love moons and the staff! My younger son always hugs the staff and tells them thank you for dinner. My children can be picky eaters and love eating here! We always start with edimame and a crunchy roll! I like the spicy chicken and vegetables or chicken teriyaki with mushrooms. The prices are a tad high but it’s worth it. It is always a treat eating here! I would eat here everyday if I could. :-)

Moons Kitchen use to be really good in the past, but with its small portions, failing quality, and high prices; I will not be returning. Service is always prompt and polite.

Service tells me the ranch they served was the sauce that goes with tempura… I simply asked for something that wasn’t white American or creamy… I make tempura and sauce at home. This place is far too Americanized and ideal for the little old gray haired ladies who seem to frequent it. But their prices are ridiculous for the tiny amount of food they serve. My «prawn» was a cocktail bay shrimp… Butterflied. Seriously. I kid you not. The«grilled» teriyaki was so oily… I actually had to wipe it down and soak up the oil with my napkin… Left still very hungry. Not a good deal.

I heard the teriyaki was good so I tried it at lunch time. I was disappointed completely. Chicken breast teriyaki with mushrooms and tempura bento box was weird it was served with chicken salad and a side of salad dressing? side of teriyaki sauce and no tempura dipping sauce. Even the brown rice did not taste good. Only thing good was my ice tea. I won’t go back.

Food was awesome =) Had dinner with my mom and son. Walked in, was seated promptly. They have bottled water =). A younger server, maybe in her late 20’s, was super friendly. The other other lady server was also pleasant. We ordered a Crunch Roll, French Fries, and a Bento Extra Spicy Box.

After living in Morgan Hill for 10 years and driving by Moon’s countless times, I thought I would try it for lunch. I have my usual favorite spots but was thinking that perhaps Moon’s could join the club. I love Korean and Japanese food, and the menu at Moon’s seemed to fit that bill. I arrived around 12:30PM on a Monday for lunch, the restaurant was about 30% full. I was directed to a table and sat down and then nothing happened. A larger group arrived about 5 minutes after me and took a table across the room. They immediately received menus and water. I was a bit perplexed but thought I’d give them a few more minutes. I looked at my watch and told myself that if I don’t have a water and menu by 12:45PM(15 minutes after arriving and being seated) that I was going to get up and leave, a first for me. Finally, at 12:43PM a menu, and the server cleaned the table, finally progress! I ordered and the food was decent, not bad, not great, but average to below average for this type of establishment. The issue with the food is the portion to cost ratio, which is way out of proportion. I ordered a two item lunch combination and was still hungry when I left and I’m not a big eater or overweight at all. The cost is much higher for portion than Big Korean BBQ or other types of restaurants in Morgan Hill. Had to ask for chopsticks once, then go to the front to retrieve them as my food cooled. So based upon my experience Moon’s in my opinion falls far short in both service, quality and quantity. I will not be returning, they had a chance and did not perform on all the criteria one would use to rate a restaurant. I wish them well in improving for the next first time patron.

The lady who is at the front is quite nice and friendly. However, for the price, the quality of the food is lacking. I ordered the special off the board to take away, which said it comes with miso soup, only to find out afterwards that they don’t give you miso soup if you order take away. It would be nice to clarify this beforehand for customers. Good: the restaurant is clean and tidy, friendly people, plenty of seating, relatively quiet inside. Not-so-good: greasy food(seemed strange for me for Japanese food), iceberg lettuce salad.

Sadly such a waste of time. Took forever to get our food on a Tuesday evening. I ordered the Miso Ramen and California roll combo. Husband had the chicken teriyaki and the California roll bento box. Nothing crazy. The Ramen was bland and looked like they picked it up at the dollar tree next door. Somehow it also had a very strange smell to it. The California roll was also bland and didn’t seem all that fresh. Husband liked his food, so that’s good, I guess.

Ive lived in Morgan Hill for over 25 years and have been coming to Moon’s Kitchen since I was in high school like 10 years ago! Moon’s Kitchen used to be my families go-to restaurant! The food and service has declined over the years. The last time I went, I was with my family(all 7 of us!), we received awful service and the waitress was rude to my 3 year old niece who was playing at the table next to us. The food is still decent but i dont think ill be back!

The food and the service was really bad. The last time I ate there my sister and I were ignored by the very grumpy and rude owner. She did not think it was very important to be friendly to us at all. I was very disappointed because years ago this was a very nice place. It looks like they haven’t done anything in the past 15 years to keep the place looking nice either. I will NEVER go here again. If you want good sushi and friendly service go to Sushi Ichiban

Finally decided to drop in here for lunch several months ago and have been going at least once a week since. I love just about anything teriyaki and the chicken breast with mushrooms Bento box with potstickers is my go to item here. It’s a nice presentation with chicken salad with a warm gingery dressing, steamed rice, and a spicy vinegary sauce for the potstickers. For the Bento boxes you order the main and one or two add-on items. You also get a bowl of miso soup. I finally tried the tempura the other day and wish I had tried it sooner! I believe that if the government found out about it they would make it illegal. ;) It’s so crispy! The seafood Yakisoba is also very good but for me a little heavy for lunch. Will save that one for dinner. I really like the Bento boxes for lunch because they have just the right portion that leaves me satisfied. Service is warm and friendly.

All the staff are so friendly and they have a really nice menu. We tried the shrimp potstickers and veggie egg rolls for starters. For dinner I had the udon with tempura and my husband had the smoked salmon roll and the California roll. Everything was really tasty and reasonably priced. We will return!

We really like this restaurant. They have many different things from sushi to teriyaki. The restaurant is clean and the employees are polite and sweet. I have not had a bad experience here. I always leave Moon’s feeling like I got my money’s worth.

1ST visit and maybe the last… OK, I should’t say the LAST, yet. The service was really very friendly, the premises clean, well lighted & comfy enough… So, with that in mind I will try them again & hope that my 1st trip was an anomaly. But just in case you think of ordering the«Prawn/Pineapple Special» for lunch, just be advised… there are no prawns, only very small shrimp(4 of them) and an amazing 4 chunks of canned pineapple to pair with each shrimp… combine all and serve luke warm & over greasy mushrooms &…presto …your lunch special :-D I’ll try them again after the memory fades :-)

Came here with friends… left stuffed and satisfied. The asparagus rolled in ham appetizer was awesome, and the rolls were quite tasty! Service was good, will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Food was a bit pricey for what you get… but you get a bit more than your average teriyaki place. The ladies here are friendly and humble. It’s a quaint restaurant with mild. not wild food. Maybe not a place is come back to… but I would if I didn’t have a place to go to.

Can I just have one a more moondance with you, my love Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love — Van Morrison, «Moondance» Too many damn pumas! — Madonna Mendez, «Moon over Parador» Something tells me the locals underrate this restaurant. It may be the bizarre Korean/Chinese/Japanese hybrid. Maybe the fact that there are several other very good Asian restaurants in town. Or maybe it is the fact there are a couple of Panda Expresses to choose from(Just kidding). But in my first week of working up in Morgan City, this is one of two restaurants(Traildust being the other) that I visited twice. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit which was takeout of Chicken Broccoli. A healthier version than normal of this old chestnut, I also ordered a pot sticker appetizer that was less successful. Too greasy. Next time, I ate in and ordered the special of the day which was a spicy chicken and vegetables entrée with bak choy. It was very flavorful, full of veggies and mushrooms but the spice was just a tad on the gringo level of spiciness. Next time I will order it Asian Hot :) The rest of the menu is interesting and look forward to trying other items including branching off to the less Americanized, more Korean parts(No pumas for sure). Service was efficient although my take out order did not include fork(I got one from my hotel). 3.5 stars for now with potential for more. I’ll give them four stars based on that potential :) Recommended
