I brought my family here when they came to visit, and the place was great! The food was very delicious, and the customer service was on point! We ordered the dolsot bibimbap, combo, and ramen soup. It’ll definitely fill you up. Along with those, it comes with side orders and also ice cream at the end. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth. I would definitely bring my friends here to try.

Customer service here is great. I’m adding a star for that. Korean food here is just OK. I don’t know why some places serve you banchan in a divided serving platter. It just reminds me of a TV dinner tray. I guess it’s easier than washing multiple little banchan dishes, but it’s a little weird to me. I’ve only encountered those in this restaurant and another one in Salinas. The food is pretty good, but it doesn’t really taste as authentic as I would like. Still, they try very hard to please their customers, and with their strength in customer service, customers enjoy their experience here, which creates repeat business. If good food and good service is important to you, then you should give this place a try.

Excellent customer service and delicious food! They are very nice and house warming to customers. I got the combo player for two and it was yummy! Filled us up! They gave us some side dishes to go with our food as well. I also ordered the kimchi soup which was very rich in flavor, rice cake was delicious and soft, and it was not too spicy. At the end when we were ready to go the nice lady brought us a cup of ice cream. If I lived in town it would be my to go for Korean food. However, those who does live and hasn’t tried should as well as those who visit must try!

This is one of my favorite places in MH. We usually stop in for dinner. The banchan makes it seem like a buffet. They will give you more if you ask. That’s always a plus. The salad is always fresh. I really like to support small business. Favorites here are the Donburi, Bulgogi, Combo, Soon Tofu, Spicy Ribs, and Bibambap. I like that they don’t drown the food in any of the sauces. It’s a good balance. At the end of the meal, they give you a fresh piece of fruit or ice cream. It’s a win!

Huge success for our hungry group. Walked in and surprised them and they were wonderfully hospitable. Prices match the quantity of food you receive. Come for the food. Stay for the ice cream.

Best customer service and food! I have never been let down from this place, genuine friendly service to boot do you can’t help but leave satisfied! Tonight I ordered some chicken ramen(my medicine) and it was a little more bland less spicy than I anticipated so I called and they offered me a free credit or I could pick up another no problem. I wish all dining establishments were this way

Amazing Korean bbq! Yes we ordered all of that and yes we’re fat kids. In my defense I didn’t know that our meals would come with so many amazing side dishes or else I wouldn’t have ordered dumplings too! They were bomb though, no regrets Service was so friendly and perfect. Yum!

Stopped here after pumpkins because of good reviews. We lived in Korea for almost 3 years but I think we need to stop trying Korean in the US. This place was okay. I got the bibimbop which was served way too hot to even eat. One of my favorites is the crispy rice on the bottom from the hot pot but this rice was almost burned to the bottom it was so hot. Not much meat here. Hubby got the bulgogi which was also just okay. They did serve ice cream at the end and gave the kids Korean wafers which was neat. If we lived closer we would go back and try a few different things, but from this single experience it was just okay.

Definitely not much meat in my jap chae noodles or my bim bim bop but it was still good. The seafood tofu soup was up to par. They were generous with their free side dishes. They were very nice and free ice cream to wrap up the meal. I’ll return when I’m in town again.

Hands down the best Korean food in this town! I always get the Budae chigae, which is a spicy ramen soup with sliced hot dog, rice cake, kimchee, pieces of pork and spam. The side dishes that they give you before the meals are absolutely delicious. What I like about this place is that it makes me feel like I’m at home. Their food comes really quite close into taste, like my halmoni(grandma). I highly recommend this place!!! It’s my fav!

I just had the Dol dot bi bim bop(yeah I couldn’t say it right either) based on several other reviews that were on Unilocal.I called in to go and the food was ready right at the quoted time(20min) and the person who took my order on the phone and the other person who gave me my food and helped with my bill were both very friendly and welcoming. I’m in town for work and will p try this again next time I’m here. Both(reasonably) healthy and delicious!

My love for Korean food is serious. My addiction to the flavors and textures and spice is like a drug, I can’t get enough. This place really hit the spot and killed a craving for being less than 10 miles from Gilroy. For being a small place, we were greeted and seated immediately. The décor is simple and clean. The food: Bulgogi(husband’s order): Thinly sliced beef marinated in a house sauce, topped with broccoli, carrots, green onion and onion. Served on a sizzling plate and a side of rice. He was in heaven and quiet! Soon tofu(my order): seafood, medium spicy. Delicious! I love when this soup comes out bubbling. The tofu was smooth. The seafood was two jumbo shrimps with head on, some squid, mussels. Banchan: small potato salad, pickled daikon, cucumber, kimchi(of course), chilled broccoli, what I thought was fried daikon, is actually a veggie pancake. Just like the seafood pancake without the seafood. Kimchi marinated tofu and salad with a really good vinaigrette dressing. All of this was ended with a scoop of mango ice cream on the house! I couldn’t have been happier! The vibe is friendly but quiet(no music) — just the sound of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend and will be back for more.

We ordered Galbi(beef rib bbq), Pork Bulgogi, Ojingo Tteok Bokkeum(marinated squids), and Boneless Grilled Chicken. The dishes we ordered were tasty and of good portions. Pork Bulgogi(spicy pork) is one of my favorite dishes in Korean cuisine even though Bulgogi and Galbi are more widely known. Pork is sliced and sauteed in Gochujang sauce with some vegetables. I love how it invigorates me when I feel tired and need a pick-me-up. The squid dish was excellent. This dish has rice cake(Tteok) and some vegetables. They use Ddukbokki rice cake which is probably the most popular item in food carts on the streets of Korea. Beer would have been an excellent complement to this dish.

This was my first time visiting the Big Grill BBQ& Teriyaki in Morgan Hill. I plan on coming back soon. It is located next to Lawson’s Bakery on Monterey near Tennant Avenue. The staff was very kind and the chef brought our entrees to us personally. Everybody was very friendly and hospitable. As a tell-tale good sign, there were Korean patrons eating here as well. We ordered the goon mandoo(dumplings) as an appetizer and enjoyed the eco-friendliness of having water in a carafe at our table. For our entrees, we ordered the Bulgogi(thinly sliced marinated beef) and Donburi(chicken teriyaki bowl). The meat in both dishes was succulent without two much fat. The sauces were definitely homemade and tantalizing to the taste buds. The vegetables were fresh, brightly colored, and cooked just right. The traditional side dishes were awesome. We definitely plan on returning. It is worth a trip to Morgan Hill just to visit this restaurant. if you happen to be in the area, stop by. But as for me, I am willing to drive there, even in all the crazy weekend traffic on 101 freeway, just to enjoy Big Grill BBQ& Teriyaki. It was a great experience and the pride from the kitchen proved itself by the dishes presented to us.

SOOOOOOOOOGOOD. Spicy ribs=mouthgasm and man are those ribs spicy, my lips are still burning but it was so worth it. Delicious. Nice people, generous portions and pricing is good, but not so low that one has to question the quality. If hubs let me, I’d eat here every week.

What a great little gem in Morgan Hill. My daughter and I popped in for lunch yesterday and boy we both left thinking about when we’d come back next. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm hello and shown to a table. The restaurant is small with no frills but very clean and friendly. The kitchen is open and you can hear the sizzling as you wait for your order. Speaking of order, here’s what we had: Egg Rolls: my daughter LOVED these. Made to order so very hot and crisp with lots of veggies in the filling. They were a tad greasy for me. I ate one and saved the last on to bring home to the hubby. Combo plate: we split this and still had a ton left over to take gone. The combo consists of Korean spare ribs which were our favorite and there was at least 6 pieces. 2 hearty chicken and veg kabobs which were perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. 2 spicy short ribs which had great flavor but a tad tough. This came with rice too. It’s a lot of meat so it’s really a great item to share family style. As soon as we ordered, we were brought yummy green salads and this awesome aray of traditional condiments/salad bites. Such a treat! We ate all if it. And if that wasnt enough, when we were done and waiting for our leftovers to get packaged up. The very sweet woman who took amazing care of us the while time, brought up two little cups of the most amazing strawberry ice cream. My daughter and I took one bite and were I heaven. Service was excellent, food was fast and fabulous, place was spotless and well … we just really liked it and can’t wait to come back to try more menu items.

Big Grill is only a hidden gem owing to its residence in the little town of Morgan Hill(and in a strip mall next to a hair salon and a Subway, to booth). It is actually a legit Korean restaurant. I’d been planning to try these guys for a while since seeing their good reviews on Unilocal several years ago, but I always put it off when I wasn’t simply out of the state. I finally went today, and I have no regrets. I was actually unwilling to enter the double digits for any of several options that likely would have been very good, so I ended up ordering the cheapest entrée, the ramen($ 8.99 during lunch). I chose beef, but the ten options for your ramen cover a range from seafood to kimchi to spam. Somehow, I was caught completely by surprise when they brought out the complimentary banchan, the Korean side dishes that accompany your meal at any typical Korean place. I’ll qualify this with an «I was really hungry,» but I pretty much enjoyed everything. I’ll just go ahead and list them: a fresh salad with sweet dressing, a tofu dish that looks spicy but isn’t, a japchae(stir fried noodles), a fried cake of some sort, a pickled cucumber, a pickled yellow item, simple broccoli(I dipped this in the salad dressing), kimchi, and the oops-there’s-one-mediocre-item somewhat salt-deficient potato salad. Try everything when you get the chance, and maybe try adding a salt element to the potato salad. I was well into the side dish extravaganza when my ramen came out. It was boiling and stayed hot due to being served in a heated stone bowl. They had me crack an egg(actually, I think they offered to crack it for me, but whatever) into the water for it to cook, and it definitely cooked while I was contemplating how to attack the scalding food. Korean ramen is not to be confused with Japanese ramen. A quick scan of Google results seems to suggest that Korean ramen actually is derived from instant ramen, which definitely shows in the bunched noodles in my bowl. Those noodles were chewy enough, and I’m not sure you can even cook instant noodles al denta. The broth will also never be confused with the rich and complex dashi of legit Japanese ramen, but it does the trick and gets a little extra oomph when you break the eggs into it. The beef is what I would have expected had I ordered bulgogi, although I do wish there was a little bit more of it. Finally, the veggies are delicious and don’t get overcooked in the bowl. At the end, I got a complimentary dessert and a revelation. I didn’t realize until today that I actually do enjoy watermelon. It’s really unfortunate how much flavor-deficient and texturally questionable fruit and artificially flavored candies I’ve had to deal with, but the two giant cubes of juicy sweetness that I enjoyed today were a perfect way to cap off the meal. I am impressed. Big Grill, you are beautiful.

Tasty, tasty, tasty authentic and homey Korean food at a local mom-and-pop restaurant with excellent service = I’m in. Big Grill is a smallish but clean restaurant with a casual ambiance. The owners seem to know a lot of the patrons and it’s a very family friend place. The menu is authentic and we were impressed by the portion sizes. The food(both lunch AND dinner) comes with the banchan(pickled cucumbers, kimchee, japchae!, fish cake slices, potato salad, daikon, mini fried veggie pancakes) and a small salad with vinaigrette. That alone was somewhat filling(and came with a free refill!) and was so, so good. I had the bulgogi lunch plate and DH ordered the spicy chicken. Both platters were humongous with generous meat portions. The bulgogi came with sauteed onions and some broccoli too. The flavors were authentic and equally impressive was the freshness and quality of ingredients. At the end of our meal, we were given two generous slices of very ripe but still firm watermelon. It brought back so many memories of chilling at my Korean best friend’s house after school. The water here is also very crisp(and a carafe is served with your cups). The owners check in on the tables but don’t hover — food service and the bill came out in a timely manner. We’re looking forward to coming back and highly recommend this place as your Korean food go-to in the South, South Bay.
