I rode by on my bike and thought I discovered a gem. I made time to drive by in my car and write down the phone number to make an acupuncture appointment. I called and asked if they accept insurance and the answer was yes. Yes, they accept insurance but would require $ 100.00 for the visit anyway. I asked why and the lady told me my insurance will cover only $ 25.00 and I have to pay $ 100.00. I was told I have three options and they all included me giving $ 100.00 beforehand. She told me all of this without running my insurance, which was interesting. I told her I think I will look for a place that accepts my insurance coverage and she raised her voice even louder and said, «All insurance is the same!» WHAT? Really? I happen to know that I have pretty good acupuncture coverage and I have never been asked for so much as a dollar out of pocket.
