Took them over a half hour to serve our food. My sandwich was one of the sloppiest I’ve ever eaten. They comp’ed the whole meal for our wait, and I still don’t think it was worth it.

Meh… Outside of the décor, there is not a whole lot special about this spot. The service started out rough when I couldn’t get s drink order, but it pick up throughout the course of my meal. I wouldn’t go back, given a choice.

The burgers are pretty good, but I had a bad experience. I had a $ 20 Groupon certificate, so I showed it to the waitress on my phone. She took my phone back behind the counter for 5 minutes or so, then she came back and told me that she was only gonna give me credit for $ 12 instead of $ 20 after she already redeemed it. I told her that was wrong and I pulled up the Groupon app again to show her. Then she took my phone and disappeared again for another 5 minutes before eventually coming back to tell me she straightened it out. Just as she was handing my phone back, I got a new purchase confirmation email from Groupon. Apparently while she had my phone, she decided to go through my account and charge my credit card for another voucher. I told the manager and she was pretty nice about it. She gave us a gift card to make up for it, which was ok, but it was still so violating to know that an employee went through my phone and charge something to my credit card without my consent.

This is my third experience with Johnny Rockets. The first time was in Baltimore, and I remember thinking it was a good experience and good food. My second time was at the Johnny Rockets that used to be in the Viewmont Mall. That was also an interesting experience. The people in the table beside us had part of a latex glove in their burger. No joke, it looked like it had been cut clean with a knife, I guess when they were slicing the lettuce or tomato. But how the moronic employee that did it, or the subsequent employee that put the condiments on the bun didn’t see it is beyond me. That one has since closed. That brings me to this time. We came a little big after lunch, and the restaurant was less than half full when we got there, and most people already had their food. So we order, and we wait. Then we wait some more. Then we wait some more. It took a whole 40 minutes to get our food. And as I said, the place was emptying out quick by the time we got there. You can see them making the food, and there were 3 cooks working, so there was no reason it would take 40 minutes to cook burgers. I have a feeling it had to do with our waitress, who was just about the worst waitress I’ve ever had. I have a feeling she most likely forgot to put our order in, because she was just plain dumb. The manager stopped over and asked us how everything was after we had gotten our food, and we told him the situation, and was very apologetic about it. We never saw our waitress again after that. I don’t know if he told her he’d take care of us, or she said she didn’t want to wait on us anymore. Not sure. Now to to food. I guess if you have a better server, the food is decent. To me though, it’s a little pricey for what you get. You can pay $ 1-$ 2 more and get a bigger, better tasting burger at Red Robin. You can pay $ 2-$ 3 less and get the same quality of food at Steak and Shake(which yes, I’m aware there are none close by, but it’s just a comparison). A Cheeseburger kids meal is $ 6.79. That’s really expensive for a kids meal. I can get a full size meal and a milkshake for about that price at Steak and Shake. I think if the service was faster, I’d give it a 3 stars for the food, but there’s really no reason to go here, unless you just want a nostalgic looking burger joint.

Terrible service! Took a few minutes to be seated when there were 2 waitresses doing nothing and about 5 other customers. The waitress was inattentive and it took 40 minutes to get two burgers!!! And they tried to up-charge us for a free add on items. Food was tasty but awful customer service!

YUM. Perfect place to stop in for lunch. We really like the sweet potato fries, and how they are no flat like at other places. I got the burger with the special sauce and if there was a rockets closer to me, I’d never crave big mac sauce again. Just an overall great meal. I only deducted a star because of the service. The girl attending to our table was very friendly and sociable at first but once the food came out she never checked if we needed more to drink, which we all did, because as you eat you tend to drink more.

We have been here a few times for lunch while on a road trip. The service has always been excellent — friendly, responsive and professional. Not sure what all of the negative reviews are about?

I typically only write reviews for exceptionally good or bad service/food and this place was pretty bad. Took forever to get our food, the place was dirty and food average at best.

This Johnny rockets isn’t the best Johnny rockets I have been to. I have been to 3 or 4 different JRs this location falls short. The only reason I’m giving it a 3 star instead of a 2 star review is because I have never had a bad meal here. However I have had a bad shake here. I have been to this Johnny rockets 5 times the food has been well cooked every time. I have had 3 shakes out of my 5 visits and 2 of them just tasted plain. On my latest trip all I ordered was a chocolate shake. And it tasted like coffee I took 4 sips and then didn’t Finnish the rest. They seem short staffed. There was 2 waitresses and 1 cook when it was prime for lunch every other seat was filled and food took a bit for 3 The nice thing is if you just order onion rings fries or fried pickles they come quick. I like the fried pickles. If I went back. I would prob just stick to a burger and fried pickles. Keep it simple.

We stopped here after visiting steamtown. The staff was nice but everything was slow. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. The food itself was good but nothing to go crazy over. We also had 4 kids with us but they held the kids meals until the other meals were done. I realize that this might be a standard practice but most places ask if we want the kids stuff to come first. The only way I’d come again is by myself and if I had no place to be in a rush.

The service is seriously slow, the food is similar to McDonalds quality, and the restaurant is extremely filthy. The owners should consider both a remodel, and increasing the amount of staff on hand – there was literally one waitress waiting on and serving customers.

I always try to be positive about my reviews but it is very hard with this one. Right off the bat I was greeted with the smell of sewer gas by the bathrooms and there was no paper towels in the men’s room. My booth seat had duck tape which had lost its sticky and reveling a big hole. My #12 was delivered with cold fries. This rocket was a dud.

In short — skip this place. Burger king is faster, makes better burgers and is cheaper. I dare say the service at burger king its as friendly. The fried pickle appetizer was undercooked and had raw batter on some of the portions. Food took a long time(25 minutes). That would have been ok if after the wait it was hot and fresh. It was neither. The burgers and fries were luke warm at best. Buns had that it on the counter not in a bag all day taste. Burgers were very overcooked. I saw that in another review and assumed it was a personal preference. I was wrong. The burgers were very overdone(you could actually crunch on some of it). Service was not attentive. You had to ask for refills. Staff overall had uncaring fake attitudes. It was not in your face but it was obvious that everyone was going through the motions at a minimum level. The shakes were good.

Burger severely over cooked and it took 20 minutes to get it. Very disappointed. Haven’t been here in a while, it was much much better. Maybe it was a bad day.

While my mom, niece and I were spending the day across the street at the Shoppes at Montage we came here for lunch. I have been to Johnny Rockets several times but I was less than pleased with this location. I realize they’re wearing white/khaki uniforms but that it no excuse for the being filthy. The managers pants looked as if he had been wearing them for weeks and our waitress looked rather disheveled with multiple bandaids on her fingers. The food was typical. Nothing to write home about. I did enjoy the peppermint milkshake though. My burger was well seasoned but it looked like something I could have got at a fast food burger place. Just disappointed with this visit. Since it was my mom’s first time, she was definitely not impressed.

Burgers are reliably pretty good with a myriad of toppings. Décor is adorably 50’s. I give it 3 stars because service really makes or breaks your visit. If your server is friendly and follows the traditions of Johnny rockets(draws ketchup faces, sings and dances, etc) then it’s 5 star for the experience… if not, then it’s just a place for a decent hamburger.

This was my second visit. Classic burger was excellent. I enjoyed it about the same as my last 5 Guys burger. Only complaint is that it is messy to eat; rolls are a little too soft. The waitstaff breaks out into a dance every so often which is entertaining for the kids. And they make ketchup smiley faces for your fries.

We were in the Scranton area and were looking for dinner before heading back on I-81 to go home and while there were other places close by like a Ruby Tuesday and a Long Horn Steakhouse, we chose Johnny Rockets because it was the only place that didn’t have a huge line.(And that should have been the tip-off that this place was horrible.) First even though they had kid’s menus and crayons clearly in site our server never offered them and we received them only after asking twice. They give you some nickels to put in their table-side jukeboxes to have songs played in the restaurant. The problem is that ours and several others all were broken and our server informed us that most had been jammed for a while and that there was no plan to ever get them fixed. The food itself was came pretty fast, with the exception of my youngest daughter’s grilled cheese because the server dropped her plate and it took almost ten minutes to make another. The Kid’s menu offers no other substitution for the greasy fries. So if you want your children to eat a little bit healthier their only suggestion is onion rings. We were never offered drink refills and our server disappeared until it was check time. When I saw the check I was then reminded that we could have eaten at Ruby Tuesday’s, or just about any other chain restaurant, and gotten better food for less. If you are in Montage Mountain area avoid this place like that plague unless you like paying waaaaaay too much for inferior food and awful service.
