So very yummy. The sushi chef was trained in Japan and is exquisite in ideas, taste and plate presentation. We have taken family members and friends from out-of-state who were truly impressed. It could be even more perfect if they included photos on their menu.

Wonderful! Super fresh sushi. Probably some of the best around. It’s not easy to find good sushi in Simi Valley but this is good stuff. They yellowtail melts in your mouth. The spicy tuna was a tad too spicy but still terrific. Came in on a Saturday around 7:45 and there was plenty of seating at the bar and at tables– no waiting at all. I’ll definitely be back.

Nothing negative I can say about this place at all. I got the teriyaki steak bento box with a spicy tuna roll and it was fantastic! The spicy tuna was fresh and spicy and the the rice was perfectly cooked. The device was fast and great. Check this place out if you’re in the area!

Loved the place. the food is excellent, huge selection of appetizers, sushi, and rolls. Service was awesome too even though there was only 1 person serving the whole restaurant during lunch hour.

I’m going to say it: fish quality is comparable to my experience eating sushi/sashimi in Japan– that is if you come on the right day. We usually have dinner on a Friday or Saturday here. The restaurant is usually busy, so I recommend getting there at opening(5pm) to avoid the rush. Food is always on-point. We always get the sushi combo with spicy tuna. Other dishes are great too(cooked or not). When we brought guests here on a weekday night(I believe it was a Wednesday), we were disappointed by our food. Sushi had too much wasabi, or not enough sauce as usual. We looked behind the counter and saw sushi chef we had never seen. Our guests didn’t seem bothered by these nuances. We hope this is a fluke in our experience, but figured it was worthy of sharing.

Looked at reviews and decided to try. Settled on a Salmon Bento box. I was a bit taken back by the waitress asking if I wanted tampura, California roll or tuna roll. Salmon was dry. Portions were small. And they charged for green tea. Must better places to choice from in my opinion.

This my favorite sushi place in Moorpark, actually, anywhere. All of their fish is fresh and the rice is perfection! I also recommend the ramen, the broth is authentic. The fried rice is also one of my favorite sides. You can’t go wrong with this place. The price is worth it. The service is also great!

On Unilocal it said Tokiwa Sushi was 4.5 stars so I expected the restaurant to be good. Honestly, I had a disappointing experience at Tokiwa Sushi. The sushi wasn’t the best and the service was terrible.

Our friends told us about this amazing little restaurant so we were looking forward to our visit. Well, I can’t tell you all of what I ate, I can tell you we had feast and it was delicious! The service was delightful. We were greeted as soon as we sat down, as we dined our water glasses were filled in a timely fashion. The fresh sushi and rolls were presented with an artistic flair. The tuna mango crunch was a favorite. And an extra added bonus on Monday and Wednesday nites they have a list of discounted sushi and rolls. Amazing! It wasn’t crowded the Monday we arrived although as we dined, the room began to fill up. We’ll be back!

Expected more considering the reviews but was disappointed. Rice quality was a little dry and presentation not picture worthy. My tuna was a little fishy. Disappointed

What a great place. We have been coming for years at both locations and always have a great time and meal. Tonight every table was full at 7 pm but we were greeted right away by the small, smiling waitress. We had the BSC baked scallops on California Rolls, Mango Crunch, and the kamikaze rolls. Really tasty and fresh. We have gotten to know a few of the sushi chefs and they greet us and sometimes even bring us a taste of something new they are working on. What a great welcoming atmosphere. We have tried the other sushi places and Moorpark and we always like to return here. Prices are moderate and always a great experience.

This was probably some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Visiting family from the East Coast and wanted some great sushi and this one came highly recommended from both Unilocal and family. I looked at the recommendations and we got the crispy rice and the tuna mango and both were unbelievable. We got a few rolls all of which were amazing. One of the highlights was the garlic edamame — SOGOOD! And the prices were incredibly reasonable considering the quality. Bummed this isn’t located back east!

Went there last night with the hubs! I had scouted this place out, thanks to fellow Unilocalers and had been twice before. Super fantastic sushi! Always fresh, delicious and we got fantastic service! The very nice young lady who I assume is an owner because she’s always there was very sweet, and poured our drinks for us, very few places this happens in anymore! I was super impressed with our whole experience. Great prices for the quality of sushi you get! This will be our go-to for sushi in Moorpark for sure! You honestly can’t go wrong with anything you get here! Loved it will be back very soon.

I don’t eat sushi but I have been here twice with friends. They LOVE the sushi at this place… especially the Black Snapper and Red Snapper and Salmon. I have had Chicken Katsu which was excellent. Also the egg fried rice was very good! Service was quick and friendly. If you like sushi I don’t think you can go wrong at this place! Plus they have other good stuff for us non-sushi eaters! =)

Wow — great sushi. Really incredible. The ramen was pretty impressive too. By far the best I’ve had in the area. The service was awesome as they were on top of everything. Really 5 stars for everything but the price. If this was in LA I’d get it but I feel it is really overpriced for the area.

Really impeccable Japanese style sushi. We’ve been to this location multiple times and the food is always a hit! I’d say it’s some of the freshest sushi in the area along with great service every time. Atmosphere: Clean and spacious. It’s all about simplicity at best, I could see how the«starkness» of the restaurant could keep people away. We get used to the kitschy Japanese themed sushi restaurants that one such as this could seem a little«plain». But to me it’s showing it’s main focus is the food not just styling itself to look like something it’s not. With this being said the place is very very clean, something that should be valued when dealing with raw fish. Service: 5 stars! Every time we come the service is outstanding. Friendly yet not overbearing. I appreciate their quickness and that the meal is well paced. They do a great job with keeping items on your table and quickly replacing an empty plate for the next. The servers are very knowledgable about their menu and the Chefs are great, awesome portion sizing. Food: 5 stars! So fresh fresh fresh! You know you’ve come to the right place when your sushi tastes like it was just swimming in the ocean hours earlier. You can tell they really use the best quality of fish, which being said comes with the price. Pricing: 4 stars, this being said the sushi is just generally pricy here. Not saying it isn’t worth it at all!!! Just want to make it clear that your paying for the freshest quality around, for a non-avid sushi eater I could see this issue turning people away thinking that it’s over priced. Again just be aware you get what you pay for. This being said Tokiwa is more of a special treat for us then a weekly spot. Recommendations: Alaskan roll, albacore roll, spicy octopus salad, and the real treat was the spicy salmon cut roll! For $ 6 only it’s too die for! A new flavor that you don’t typically see at most sushi places. Please give this place a try if your looking for cleanliness, great service, and grade A sushi.

Id say this is a pretty quality Japanese restaurant. Their udon is on point, I love that they serve the tempura separately. The Ramen soup base looks better than it tastes, but still decent. Broth is heavy. The bento chicken boxes are fair, not incredible but not bad. Chicken marinade is nothing out of the ordinary but better than anything else around here. The hand roll with unagi is really good though. They know how to prep the eel, and the wasabi is perfect! I was a little disappointed with the spicy tuna roll. but it was standard as well. Id come back here forsure if im feeling Japanese. They are as close as I can get to real Japanese around moorpark/camarillo/newbury.

Excellent sushi and great service. I highly recommend the Avocado Mango salad when Mango is in season, and the rock shrimp app is pretty great. I haven’t gone wrong with any of their sushi, sashimi, or roll choices.
