The bagels are delicious. They are made fresh daily. The staff is great and it is always nice to see the owner and his family.

Have been once before, got a soy latte and there was no espresso flavor whatsoever, it tasted like warm soy milk. I will give them another try and hopefully the quality is better! Did not try the food.

This bakery is super great. I work down the street and am often late at ordering cakes for the coworkers at the office. They have been super accommodating in our custom orders and always have the cakes ready to go after our lunch hour. I love ordering from them because they don’t give you an order form with any restrictions or things they can’t do– we just tell them exactly what we want and when we need it and it’s always delicious. They aren’t expensive either which is a huge plus we will definitely be getting our birthday cakes here all year.

Great place! Lovely atmosphere. Very friendly customer service. I had a hand pie filled with ham that was incredible and an iced caramel latte that was disgustingly delicious! I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Great coffee and espresso. I love that all of the baked goods are made in-house from scratch. Their coffee cake is delicious. I had their«pumpkin surprise» and was a little disappointed with it because it tasted too much like a pumpkin pie(I prefer the pumpkin bread types of sweets). They have free WiFi(who doesn’t anymore?) and are very kind about having customers spend many hours there. The store is quite dark inside, making it difficult to get work done without straining your eyes. They also have two televisions inside with the audio playing. I’d prefer those to be muted with captions and to have music playing instead. Overall, I’d still recommend them to friends in the area, because Moorpark is seriously lacking in quality coffee shops and restaurants. I hope they continue to be successful.

This place is a morning favorite. Fresh brewed coffee, and the heavenly smell of baked goods(some of which smell like Thanksgiving day and cause an endless amount of drooling). I really love this shop, and often go there on weekend mornings to wake myself up with fresh coffee and breakfast, and relax by reading or browsing the web on my laptop. I used to be a regular at Java Kai, but since they closed down I was unable to find any decent coffee houses in the area that weren’t a part of a chain(I’m looking at you Starbucks). DD has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. They’re a little slower than popping into a starbucks but the quality can’t be compared, especially with all of their baked items. They offer ham/bacon/sausage, egg, and hash stuffed bagels, hand pies, cinnamon roles. They’ve had specials on weekends like Biscuits and Gravy that were among some of the best I’ve had in years. They also carry specialty French-Press coffees. Take an extra minute, support a local coffee shop, and enjoy the best cup in town.

Support your local coffee shop! It may take them a little bit longer than Starbucks, but fa worth it. All their baked goods are so fresh and delicious. Love their sandwiches also. Aaaaaand their coffee is delicious :)

Small town charm and yummy baked breakfast items. The cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip scones are super yummy. Those would get 5 stars. I just love the fluffiness of the dough in the cinnamon roll and the icing. The chocolate chip scone with warm melted chocolate mmmmm. Many of their other breakfast items are really good: cherry almond coffee cake, quiche, hand pie, and craigle(bagel made with croissant dough). The only time we were disappointed was with some of their desserts, but my expectations may have been too high. Their cinnamon roll is so good, that I expected more from the desserts. If I had never tried their cinnamon roll, I probably would have been happier with their desserts. My critique is with their coffee. The coffee, lattes or iced concoctions, are ok. They tend to be too milky or lukewarm. The coffee currently would get 3 stars. There used to be a girl who could really make coffee, but I haven’t see her there in a while. The atmosphere is SUPER relaxed and friendly. It is almost like you’re sitting across the kitchen from a friend and then you return the dishes to counter. It’s a very informal place. It can be a little dark inside, more like a lounge than a typical coffee shop. Since it is a small operation, they are dependent on what the baker can produce. It’s fun to see which items will be for sale on any given day and sometimes, when they are out of cinnamon rolls, I have to branch out from my cinnamon roll safety zone and try something new. I’m usually very happy I did.

Tried this place on our last day in the area and we were impressed! The quiches were SO good and the coffee tasted fresh. They were in the middle of training someone new so our orders got a little wonky but they were gracious and recovered quickly. The only piece of constructive feedback I would give is that it was pretty hot in there. I’m sure it’s not a consistent thing to need the air conditioning but with the temperatures and humidity that day, it would have been nice if it were cooler inside! All in all, this place is great — go!

The BEST bagels, by a long shot, in all of Moorpark and Simi Valley. Cragels, too!(Kids love those, btw!) Always different pastries– unique and savory. The earlier you get there, the better for selection, though.(So if you wander in in the afternoon, you’re not going to have much of a selection on a busy day.) Ask the chef for descriptions of the pastries if you’re not sure. You’ll be amazed. My family loves the flourless chocolate cake bites and mini cheesecake bites. I love the turnovers.

When you walk up, you’ll think it’s closed. It’s not. When you walk in, you’ll think that you’ve accidentally walked into a dark bar instead of a coffee shop. You haven’t. This place doesn’t look like your typical SoCal coffee shop, but the good and coffee are right up there with the best of them. Almond milk latte? Delicious. Chocolate chip scone? Dangerously delicious. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff. Easy parking. The perfect place to sneak into for an afternoon.

I like the drink offerings and the quiche is really good. Many of their other baked items are super doughy and very similar. Wider variety of baked offerings would be great. It’s a comfortable spot and friendly service.

Today was my first(and last) visit to this coffee shop. As soon as I walked in there was a female already helping a costumer inside. As i approached the counter she stops and looks at me, a man in the back steps out and sees me and immediately I got the feeling that neither one of them wanted to help me(or possibly anyone at that matter.) Once I was approached I definetly got the feeling of unfriendliness. I simply asked to see the cup sizes of their iced drinks and he assumed I asked for an iced coffee. So I stop him, reiterate again what I was actually inquiring for and was cut off by the female worker, who pats him on the shoulder and says«you’re welcome.» I paused because not only was I completely confused but I was also slightly offended. I’m pleasantly trying to order a drink from a guy who appears to either hate his job or hates that he has to help a customer, and the girl acted as if she was on the same page as him. Granted, this could be a great time for me to avoid overthinking but the same behavior continued afterwords. At that point I didn’t want to spend anymore time in there. I randomly picked an iced chai and wanted to be about my day(My friend and I were going to the nail salon next door.) I paid and my friend who was sitting behind me immediately knew I was upset! My drink was made in 2 minuets, super milky looking and actually ‘disgusting.‘ I’m really sorry to the baristas for coming in. I didn’t mean to ruin your day. If you or someone you know that has had great costumer service and a ‘disgustingly delicious’ drink — I consider you very lucky. I’ve been meaning to check this spot out for a while now since I get my nails done at Milan and adore ‘Do it Healthy,’ but I unfortunately walked in on a bad day.

I live within walking distance and really hoped to make this place my weekend breakfast go to. Unfortunately, «disgusting» must refer to the baker’s attitude, and«delicious» is a bit of an exaggeration. The last time I swore off this place, my boyfriend(who is a regular) and I walked in the door to the baker’s super friendly greeting of «Hey man, your usual large coffee?» to him and then to me, «Yeah I don’t know what you want.» I guess it was supposed to be funny but it just came off really abrasive. He continued to make snarky remarks during my order. I thought I’d accidentally wandered into Dick’s Last Resort, except I didn’t even get a paper hat. The whole experience left a bad taste. Fast forward three months to today, thinking it had to be a one time incident I walked in again only to be met with the same s#!t, first completely ignored as he caught up with a buddy who walked in behind me, and then having to endure more sarcastic remarks all through my order. Like the last thing anyone wants to put up with, especially before their morning caffeine. The baked goods are fine(a little heavy), but definitely not worth what I have to endure to get one. I guess if you’re not a regular don’t expect to be treated like one.

This is a cute and comfortable place to be. I think I will be coming here when I need to get out of the house and do some work in a new atmosphere. Lots of lovely treats available and the coffee was great — especially happy that the sweet girl at the counter today was cheery and able to help us get the flavor we wanted with not too much sweetness. We had the German Chocolate latte(Chocolate, Caramel, Coconut) and the Jack Frost latte(White Chocolate, Vanilla, Cinnamon). Both were delicious and spot on to the description they offered. Prices were pretty standard. My only pet peeve is with the hours, closing at 4pm on a Saturday. This is a huge pet peeve of mine with coffee shops but I suppose I am the minority because they wouldnt close that early if they had business in the later hours. I just would LOVE a place to go to hang out, relax outside of the house(I just dont do that early in the productive part of my day). This is not really against this establishment, just a note haha

Super cute little coffee shop in Moorpark in a fairly new plaza. I stopped in to grab some breakfast to bring home to my parents and was thrilled to see the pastry case full of yummy quiches, bagels, pastries and more! The barista/gentleman behind the counter was super sweet and struck up a conversation with me — made me feel right at home. I got an vanilla almond milk latte, which was tasty and not too sweet. I grabbed a CRAGLE — yes you guessed it — a CROISSANT/BAGEL with cream cheese, a strawberry turnover and a(totally blanking on the name) jalapeño, bacon and egg stuffed bagel/dumpling type of thing. The cragle was buttery and tasty — a taaaaaad heavier than a bagel I think because it is buttery versus your typical bagel? But SOWORTHIT :) The strawberry turnover was not as sweet as I was expecting but it was still good — and listen, I don’t need more sugar in my diet, hahah. My dad loooved the stuffed bagel type thing and I’m bummed that I didn’t steal a bite — but will definitely come back to try one!

I splurged on the blue mountain coffee, and it was more delicious than when I had it in Jamaica. Same beans, ground fresh in front of me, but better made in their French press than in Jamaica. I’ll have to keep finding excuses to splurge on it! I had the quiche and although it wasn’t warmed perfectly evenly,(slightly cooler in the middle), it was without a doubt the best quiche I ever had. And I lived for two years with a French roommate who was quite fond of quiches haha. They had very cute memorial day décor which livened up the coffee shop warm wood tones. I think ambient music might be better than the TV that was playing but overall it was an amazing breakfast experience and I will be back. This pleasant, local shop easily outshines the similarly or more expensively priced, snobby coffee shops in LA, silver lake, and Pasadena. Won’t name names but if you like coffee you know who they are.
