Very nice Irish style pub with a great beer selection, all served in 20 oz. glasses at very reasonable prices. I ordered off the Irish favorites portion of the menu and was not disappointed. Service also very good. A solid choice.

Solid Irish pub in Montvale. Really large space which seems to serve many different clientele, families, elderly, young drinkers. Prices are good, service was good. Cheeseburger was tasty, better than your average bar. $ 6.25 for a 20oz Guinness. Seems consistent and place was clearly packed with many locals. I’d return when back in the area.

Typical Irish pub food — not amazing but not horrible food. If I’m in the mood for this type of food, I usually come here with my dad or siblings. It’s an older/middle aged crowd which has its perks and downsides. Overall, the bartenders are super nice and the food is solid.

If you want a quick and delicious bite to eat I would strongly recommend going here. The food is amazing and everything you order is so good. If you go order the French onion soup or the buffalo chicken dip because both are amazing. Also I would not recommend the nachos because they do not use real cheese and they are quite gross but other than that everything is so good! IFYOURHUNGRYANDWANTAMAZINGFOODGOHERE.

Classic local pub. The staff is always friendly and the place is almost always packed. Standard pub fare is always dead on perfect. If you are looking for something fancy, this is not your place but if you just want a reasonably priced beer or meal this is a good choice.

Great service. Great people. It has a really homey feel. If I had to say one thing, it’s the one bartenders really big head. Like man just get it out of the way.

Had not been here in a while, stopped over tonight for casual eats, the crunchy wings were awesome as was the steak sandwich I had, was worried it would be tough since it was london broil, just the opposite tender and juicy. Plenty of beers on tap, great Guinness and casual family atmosphere. Atmosphere is like the Allendale Bar and Grill or Iron Horse but unlike the Iron Horse the food is substantially better quality.

Not a bad place in the Park Ridge/Montvale area. Wings were pretty average. Very good buffalo chicken dip and their godfather dish is very well made. Their beer selection is always fresh and is one of their bright spots. Very classic American selection of food. All in all this is a solid place to eat and you won’t be disappointed.

Greatest bar on earth! This is my watering hole. I bring visiting friends here, have birthdays and just roll in for late night food. It’s awesome all around. Owners are incredibly friendly and the bartenders are hilarious. Love Daveys!!!

Davey’s will always hold a special place in my heart; growing up my parents used to take my sister and I there for dinner pretty much every Friday. From those visits I grew to love the Godfather sandwich(prime rib, onions, and provolone on garlic bread) and their beer-battered fries, and I still get nostalgic whenever I order it. The food always tastes good, but the temperature and freshness is inconsistent from visit to visit. During crowded times(weekends, happy hour), you may not get the attention you’d want from your server. But the atmosphere at Davey’s is warm and inviting, and you’ll always see a friendly face. A perfect place for families, or for reconnecting with friends, or even for a casual date night.

Good pub grub with a kitchen that’s open till 1am. My wife and I stop here when we want an order of fish & chips. I haven’t been disappointed in at least 15 visits. It’s a local pub so there are always regulars at the bar. We prefer to sit outside(when the weather is right) but will eat in one of the two dining rooms if we have to.

I went to Davey’s right before the«blizzard». It’s a pretty typical Irish pub, with large square bar in the main area with some tables for small groups in other areas. Service was friendly and took our drink orders immediately. Beer list was a bit out of date, since my first 2 choices were no longer on tap. My friend and I split an order of the spicy fried pickles as an appetizer. I was expecting pickle chips, but they were still pretty good. They were mildly spicy and served with wasabi mayo. It was kind of expensive at near $ 8.00 for 5 pickle spears though.(forgot to take a pic before eating) I ordered the shepherd’s pie as an entrée, and it came with a bowl of french onion soup. The french onion soup had tons of melted cheese and really crusty bread, but not many onions. The shepherd’s pie was more meat than mashed potatoes, which is good. But they did not brown the top of the mashed potatoes like I’d find in most other shepherd’s pies. I did feel a bit ripped off, because I was initially given the lunch menu, but charged dinner prices.

«Lynnie want wingy» and wingy she did order. Unfortunately, the wingy fell short. So short. I’ve been to Davey’s and had dinner many times. The food isn’t anything«wow» but it’s good and has a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Everyone RAVES about the wings at Davey’s, so with a big football game on TV Saturday night, my husband and i placed an order for a dozen wings and a cheesesteak. Calories don’t count on the weekends, right? Granted we did carryout this time and I’m sure wings don’t travel that well, but what we had were a barely dressed, tough and chewy wing. The wings were small and just felt very sinewy and tough. Not like the tender, juicy wings you would be hoping for. And the sauce? In addition to there being very little, it didn’t pack any punch or flavor. As for the cheesesteak, the meat was tender and the bread was soft. However, when«cheese» is in the name, I want this thing to be swimming in it. And I wasn’t a fan of the peppers — not cooked/grilled long enough to make them tender, so there was still a bit of a «crunch» to them(note to self: order without next time). Davey’s is in our hood, so we will be back. I just think I’ll pass on the wings next time. And the hunt for a good wing place continues. Sigh.

I’ve been going to Davey’s for… almost ever. They sponsor Montvale sports teams, so I remember being 6 years old and my soccer team having the Davey’s logo on the back(so points for sponsoring the community!). The place is usually packed, especially on weekends, and for good reason — the food is consistently good, the service is great, and the bartenders know their stuff. They do have take-out too, which you pick up from the bar, so if you’re ever craving a chicken Caesar wrap(which was my go-to pre vegetarian days), you can call in and order, and then pick it up 20 minutes later. The food and prices are really reasonable, the portions are big, and they have an awesome selection of beers from Guinness(obviously, it’s an Irish pub) to other solid craft beers like Great Lakes and Defiant. Beer prices are higher than some other places in the area, but still not bad(I think $ 7?) and happy hour is for food only, no drink specials(besides Bud Light, which I personally don’t count as anything special). Again, I can’t speak more highly about the service at Davey’s — the bartenders are awesome and attentive, as are the servers. The food comes out quickly and is always hot. They do have Dr. Praeger’s veggie burgers for the non meat eaters, and my friends have gotten the fish and chips, and burgers, which they say are really solid. You get a choice of fries(though honestly, why you wouldn’t pick waffle fries is beyond my level of comprehension). My mom swears by Steve’s Special, and my dad is a huge fan of Shepherd’s Pie. The kitchen is also open til 1 on weekends, which is pretty fantastic information if your’e dying for fries and don’t feel like going to the Ridge. The crowd is mixed — usually a little older, but just genuine people, which makes it more fun. Very easy to strike up conversation with anyone seated at the bar :)
