Found this great dog joint, but has so much more to it! Had the Hoosier Hog P2… pork tenderloin with bacon and tomatoes. Added their house sauce which was delicious! Their BLT was great… awesome bread with their house sauce. Had a side of Mac and cheese which was amazing all by itself. Everything homemade! They were out of the pulled pork so need to come back!

The hot dogs were great. I had the Chicago dog, husband had the dodger dog. Both were very flavorful, enough to overlook no restrooms and the tables weren’t cleaned. I will go back again.

I’m not the best person to review a hot dog joint, but my SO loves hot dogs, and they serve his brand — Hebrew Nationals, so call this a joint review. Broadway Joe’s is located on that triangle island between Main and N. Illinois Street. It recently opened so the owners are working out the kinks, like how much food to carry, what works and what doesn’t work on the menu and hiring staff that care. We stopped by a couple times when they ran out of food early, and that’s how we met Joe. He was still hanging around apologizing to everyone who stopped and couldn’t be served. Because Joe wants his stuff authentic Chicago and premium, he has a hard time getting inventory right and in stock. I love the cook he hired. She’s a wealth of knowledge and no nonsense. Joe and his brother are very excited and determined to make their little place a success, and their enthusiasm is genuine. The hot dogs are outrageously large and priced accordingly, if not under-priced. I realize many people, especially locals, may complain about the cost, but Hebrew Nationals aren’t cheap to buy in the grocery store in the first place. Throw in the long buns, the mound of toppings and chips, and I’m not sure how they make a profit in the first place. I don’t really like hot dogs, but if I have to eat a hot dog, this is the place. My SO can’t finish the large dogs, so he orders the normal size dogs from the children’s menu. I think it’s very thoughtful of them to have a children’s menu for kids and those adults, especially the elderly, who can’t eat as much as the rest of us gluttons. The prices on their children’s menu are great. My only suggestion is that tables should be wiped down after each use. Customers clean up after themselves, i.e. take their tray and throw the waste away after eating, but someone should wipe down the tables after each customer. It gets sticky. The floors could be swept more often. I see the high school kids there, and I can only image they aren’t the best most motivated employees. Another kink to work out.
