I’ve been going here for years. Never once have I had a bad experience. There are three Chinese buffets on this street alone and this is the one I always choose. They have the largest selection and it’s never overly crowded. The woman that is usually working always greets everyone when they come in. The price range is the same as the other places. I feel like anyone that would review this place poorly is setting their standards too high for a small town Chinese buffet. I no longer live in Monticello, but every time I come home on leave I make sure to pay a visit to this place once or twice before I leave. Be sure to get the crab Rangoon, the best I’ve ever had.

Honestly the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. It doesn’t even deserve one star. The food looked and tasted like it has been there for hours. The establishment is not up kept like you would want a restaurant. The owners kids were running around and screaming during the meal. But since the food was terrible I didn’t stay long and took my business elsewhere.

The ambiance was a little off in this restaurant — probably a function of the narrow space of the storefront itself. But don’t let that stop you, because the food was very good. I enjoyed everything, and their interpretation of my favorite General Tso’s was spot-on. The price is great too!

Wow! There are things in their buffet that I’ve never seen at another Chinese buffet restaurant, like spicy crawfish, spicy tentacles, four layered, bbq pork. I’m not sure everyone is that adventureous, but they have plenty of the regular staples, like General Tsao chicken. The two times I’ve been so far, I’ve been impressed with their large selection — at least a third more selection at the buffet — to chose from than the other two Chinese, buffet restaurants in town. The dessert selection is also more impressive with a staple of flan and ice cream. They even offer canned, Asian fruit. The restaurant has a very loyal, large, Hispanic following which bodes well since I rarely ever see many Hispanics in the other restaurants around town. The hostess and staff are Asian, don’t speak much English and aren’t the warmest, welcoming people, but they ring you up, give you cups and take away your finished plates quickly. The price is a dollar or so more than the other buffets, but I think it’s well worth it considering it’s still the same price as McDonald’s. They are also opened an hour later than the other restaurants which is great for those of us on central time. I like the ambiance and staff at Oversea’s Restaurant more, and somehow Oversea’s Restaurant strikes the right cord for me, but if I’m really hungry and feeling adventureous, I’d chose Peking.

Better than expected. It’s not the best chinese food I’ve ever had, but it’s hard to beat for the price.
