Riverside Campground

Do you like trucks? Are you a big rig aficionado? Is so, then this campsite is the perfect place for you to pitch your tent! From the confines of your bed, through the mesh of your tent you’ll be able to watch all sorts of trucks rumble past seven days a week starting at 6am! Big rigs, little rigs, half-​rigs and whole rigs. Full dump trucks, empty dump trucks, buses, RVs, and firetrucks, this roadway adjacent campsite has it all! Stop traveling long miles to highways, truck stops, and diesel depots, from the comfort of your bed at Riverside Campground, you really can see every truck they make. I thought I’d seen them all, but when that bucket loader came around the corner, rumbling over the railroad tracks like an angry yellow god, I hollered for joy at the sheer pleasure of such a unique experience. Looking forward to coming back soon and bringing the camera and the little ones! Out near us you usually only see trucks like this on a 6 lane highway, so to see them roaring past, black smoke streaming out behind on a small country road was a real treat.

We moved from Ca to Pa and chose this place to stay while we look for a house (mostly because of its proximity to the H’s work), but the boys really enjoy all the amenities… a pool, batting cage, recumbent bikes, ping pong table, pool table, and soccer field across the way. I really like that they have laundry on sight and a little store to pick up little things like toilet paper :) My only complaint is the «Lounge», which attracts bikers and boys with «race cars»…which can get a little annoying if you’re trying to sleep at night, but it typically doesn’t last long.
