I would rank the food around a 2. It’s pretty average bar food, but it does have a little twist in the type of bar food they offer… It’s a bit more unique than most bars. I’ve been here twice and the service was okkkkk, not the greatest. However, these were both Friday nights when they were busy, so that might be part of it. I will say, however, that I really like the vibe of this place, which bumped my rating up a bit. They have TVs through the restaurant and live music, ranging from bands to solo artists, and they’ve been great both times I went. I was also highly impressed with someone that brought food to my table(possibly the kitchen manager, but it was not clear to me). I had been told my first time that they fry their food in animal fat, but I wanted to make sure cuz those fried pickles looked good! He actually went into the back, found the boxes of oil they use and ripped off the top label, just to set my mind at ease that the fried food was actually vegetarian. This has never happened in a restaurant before, so I give them props!

Downgraded from a 4 star review after the biggest dining disaster I’ve seen in decades! I would have written it off to a bad waiter/waitress, but the management(or lack thereof) throughout this experience was what drove the 1 star review. I’ll save you the 2 pages of notes from the evening, but we had reservations for 23 and had the downstairs reserved. We had 2 of the worst wait staff seen to date. I knew it was going to be bad when it took 1 hour to get the first round of drinks on the table and the didn’t even get them right. We were down there for an hour and a half and had to alert the manager that things were not going well(how bad can it be if you haven’t even served the food yet?). I will say that(after trying to tag on an automatic 18% service charge to a 3 hour ordeal to get 2 rounds of drinks and some burgers on the table) she admitted it didn’t go well and discounted the tickets. I’d be generous with the stars again if that was on her own accord, but someone from the group had to bring that to her attention. Normally, I think this place is pretty good, but this was a HUGEFAIL.

Great layout and interior, the place is very inviting. I came with a large party but the restaurant was less than half full. The speed of service was just abysmal. Maybe I’m used to the New York style of wait staff but it shouldn’t take 25 mins to get a round of drinks in and over an hour to get food out of the kitchen. Speaking of food-very disappointing. I had the chicken sandwich and it was the smallest, most pathetic thing I’ve ever been served. the chicken serving was less than half the size of my palm. Not to mention they forgot my side. Your best bet is just ordering a pretzel here and eating somewhere else.

This one star is still to much. Been here for over an hour and all I’ve gotten is a drink. Maybe that’s there plan, to fill you up on drinks so you don’t know how long you’ve been here. Don’t waste your time

Visited on a Wednesday night. Parking took a few minutes(a downtown Montgomery thing) so adjust for that if you’re meeting folks at the place. The restaurant was busy but found a seat quickly at the bar. Service was immediate and ordered within minutes. Food was about a 10 minute wait. Ordered the ettouffe(sausage and smoked Gouda grits). Food was fantastic. Flavor was off the charts. Unfortunately, the serving size was disproportionate to the price. $ 9.99 for the ettouffe but the serving I received was about $ 5.99 worth. May have something to do with the availability of shrimp but it doesn’t explain why the portion of grits was also lacking. The beer was good, I went with the double IPA(Vader). Bartender, Jianacha, was nice and attentive. She also helped others in the dining room, not just the bar. Overall, good experience but the takeaway for me was the disproportionate serving size. Highly recommend.

The building was great. They bartender had some loose, interesting knowledge about the building. Service was extremely quick and very friendly. The beer was not awesome. We had the pretzel, which was alright, the fried pickles were delicious and a good size proportion. We shared the yardbird sandwich which was phenomenal.

Service is slow. Took an hour to get our food. The food was cold. Wickles were stale. Not impressed.

Staff was super nice and honest when they told my party of 13 that service would be slow. It took 40 minutes for our drinks, which were good, and 1.5 hours to get our dinner. Which, some of the plates were cold. There were four parties there with 13 plus people to a party. But most of us made reservations, so I don’t know why there was limited staff. I really wanted to like this place, but I don’t think I will be going back.

It wasn’t my cup of tea. We may come back to check things out when they have a band playing. It was not worth it for the beer and food. Beer: Husband said it was ok, but nothing he’d go crazy about.(We’ve lived in Germany and Colorado. So he’s spoiled.) Food: Pimento Fries were awesome! Burger was ok, but nothing special. Mac and Cheese as a side tasted like Kraft. Fried Chicken and Waffles… Undercooked waffle and too much breading on the chicken for my taste. Brokkoli as a side was tiny, flavorless and overcooked. Cleanliness: Very good! Clean guest room and restrooms. Temperature: Grab a sweater. It was to cold to find it comfy. Service: Nice Overall: OK

The grill was broken, but we were offered fried menu items. The majority of the beer menu was not available. Even though we ordered items that were fried or hand made the service was horrible. The food came out in waves, up to 10 minutes apart. The waitress was annoyed that we were even here. It was not an enjoyable dining experience for me.

Rail yard Brewery is a good to watch football. It has very good food and fast service. I suggest that you have the Pub Burger for your meal and then split the Fried Moon Pie and Ice Cream for dessert!

Love the old timey brick and mortar feel. Everything about this place screams class. But the most important thing is the best is good, I mean exceptionally good. If you’re in Montgomery, stop by. I did.

I love brewpubs, whatever you call them: gastropubs, tied houses, whatever. Anyplace that brews and bottles on premises and uses the beers in their recipes is a place I have to try. Everything in downtown MGM is right in a two square block area. The brewery is a block from the ballpark(see my review), and is a great place to go before and after a game. I had a flight sampling of their beers and I must say they were all tasty. I’m not an IPA fan, but even the IPA was drinkable, although I wasn’t a fan of the double. The food was as good as you’ll find in a brewpub. If you’re downtown and have a thirst, this is the place to find yourself.

Beers are good and they have guest taps to round out the selection. The Fried Wickles were sweet and delicious. All of the food ordered were delicious too! The location is next to the bad all stadium which can making parking a bit of a hassle on weekend games. Great little local place to hang out and have a few beers.

The food is great but I’ve been twice and never satisfied with the service. Had to wait 20 minutes just for straws even after asking, and very slow with drink refills. They also forgot my side dish. First time I went the food took an hour and my group had to get everything to go.

Love this place! Go with a BIG appetite and have the chicken and waffles(bacon infused waffles). Really wish they would redesign the menu though. Layout is impossible to navigate.

I came at 4:30 on a Monday when it wasn’t busy at all, so i didn’t have a problem with the service which seems to be the main complaint. The waitress was helpful in picking out the beers and the atmosphere is alright. It kinda seems like a Buffalo Wild Wings meets craft beer. This is probably to cater to the prominent bar scene around montgomery since craft beer hasn’t taken off here yet. I’m not a fan of hoppy tasting beers and prefer malts, but there were plenty of options for that kind of taste. I got a 6-flight to try out several of their drafts. My favorite was by far the donut stout. It tastes like a milkshake but retains a beer taste and isn’t too sweet. My next favorite was the oatmeal cream stout which tasted like an upgraded Guiness with a chocolatier taste. The bridge street brown and red clay irish ale weren’t anything special but were still good. The yalls alabama light lager was ok but too light for my taste. The last beer i tried was the scotch bite, which is 10% abv and you can taste it. Good if you want to get drunk but not to smooth on the taste buds. Try this place out if you like craft beers! They don’t have bottled beer for sale yet due to city laws, but in the future that might be available.

The food was good, and service was friendly, but very, very, very slow. We visited for a lunch on a Thursday. The place was only about ¼ filled. This was a workday lunch, and should have taken half an hour, 45 minutes at most. We were quickly seated, pursued the menu and ordered. We weren’t wasting any time playing with cell phones or anything, and orders got in quickly. It took almost 50 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich and salad and a hamburger and french fries to be served from the time we walked in. Server was apologetic and offered to discount our meals, but when the bill came we had not received a discount at all. Food is good, but for a work day lunch way to slow.
