I feel the need to warn parents of young children against this woman. Don’t believe her website with its glowing reviews — Unilocal is not biased and therefore can give you a real life experience and you can do what you want with the information. I had spoken with Tammy on the phone and was assured she is great with beginners and very patient– nothing could be further from the truth! My 7 year old daughter is just beginning piano and was treated very rudely by Tammy who expected her to be perfect or she was ridiculed by asking her several times if she really did practice. She has no patience for children especially, if you want to give your children a quality music teacher look elsewhere. She is impatient, critical and expects too much from a beginner. She also left us in the lurch as she dropped us suddenly with some ridiculous excuse after constantly criticizing my daughter and doubting she ever practiced. Parents beware of this one!

I have been taking guitar lessons from Tammy for nearly two years, both individual lessons and group lessons. This is the longest I’ve lasted with any music teacher. I am a retired adult, coming back to the guitar after not having played in many years. I did not have much skill or self-​confidence when I started but Tammy has given me both. She has been teaching me to play classical Spanish guitar as well as classic and modern rock. Along with technique, she teaches me music theory. I have made much more progress than I thought possible. She knows just how hard to push me, and just when to change pace when it gets too difficult. I had never played music with a group before, and Tammy has given me the opportunity (and the courage) to play as a team, strategies to work with other musicians, and to feel the thrill of being part of a group making music together. Another thing Tammy has taught me is to have respect for my instrument and how to care for it. I am learning from Tammy not only how to play the guitar, but how to be a musician. I highly recommend her for every level from beginner to advanced.

Not enough structure in her lessons. I took piano lessons from Tammy and feel she did not expect enough from me. She would pass me on songs that I did not play well. I did not feel there was enough of a challenge, almost like she was afraid to her my feelings to the point she couldn’t give corrections when they were needed. She also has some issues with consistent scheduling, she was frequently changing the time of the lessons. I have moved on and am taking lessons elsewhere and find it much better suited to me.
