Fabulous service! Fast, fun and free! Hardly anyone taking advantage of this FREE service on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Well done Monterey!

I am almost always happy with the service I receive from the drivers. I wish some buses ran more often — the wait can get very long, and some buses do not run on weekends, which makes it difficult for me. I have had one bad experience with a woman driver who really needs to find another line of work. She has intentionally left me at the curb twice now, the last time, I was standing in the pouring rain. She smiled at me and shrugged her shoulders as she pulled away. I reported her and MST said something would be done about it. I sure hope it is. She doesn’t belong around people at all.

always late, ALWAYS, and the buses are cluttered with crank addicts talking to either themselves, or uncomfortable MPC students

You can read a more detailed review of MST here: . The Unilocal profile for MST that the linked review is on came first and I don’t know how to get Unilocal to take duplicate business pages down. Enough technical talk. Let’s get down to business. So, here’s a less detailed review of MST: MST’s service has really declined. Service has been largely cut while fares have increase. On top of that, buses are almost always late, drivers can have an attitude, and bus rides are very rocky. But, MST does go to all the major places and it is quite easy to get to said major places, at least for me. When I’m in Monterey for school, I have to rely on the bus to get where I need to go and MST gets me pretty much everywhere despite the annoyances. I should also mention in this less detailed review that the website is AMAZING. It’s very easy to navigate and you can download PDF versions of the schedules onto your iPhone, iPod touch, etc and print them out from your computer. You can also order bus passes online and they usually come in 2 days if you’re in the Monterey area. MST also has a great deal less weirdos and creepy people riding the bus than BART, the subway system in my hometown. I guess this is a product of the high fares…

Has it come to this ??? The service has taken a sharp decline in the last few years, but now it’s at a all time low… Service cut on a lot of the lines by 50%, we’re talkin the lines 41, 20, ect plus a increase in fare rates is at all time high, taking the bus is no longer affordable, not to mention the nuts that ride the bus… so Iam saving to buy a motorcyle, and get the hell out of that hell…

This is a great way to get around — I only wish they ran more frequently. The drivers are all friendly and take a lot of abuse — from crying children, or those not monitored by their parents, to tourists who pepper them with the same questions time after time after time. They are patient and professional. The trolleys are small so don’t be surprised if you have to stand and hold onto the strap and once they are full they will bypass the main stop at Fisherman’s wharf.

Fabulous Fun Free MST Trolley! There are 3 trollies for tourists or locals playing tourist: Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel areas. Old fashion style trolleys are wonderful for sight seeing, shopping and enjoying your day. Check them out! :)
