We ordered from Kona Jerry’s last week for a department appreciation luncheon and it was fantastic! We placed an order for 17 people and had enough leftovers to share with the entire office. Jerry was very sweet and accommodating when I ran late for the pick up. He helped load everything into my trunk and even gave us a massive container of bbq sauce — just in case. I suggest Kona Jerry to anyone in the Monterey area who needs catering. He’s a fantastic chef, good businessman, and very kind person. Now for the food. That brisket. Wow. I can’t even begin to explain how delicious it was! It just melted in your mouth. The chicken was fantastic(didn’t need any bbq sauce at all!). The salad dressing was delicious. Everything was just so good!

Kona jerry and his partner catered my 50 person wedding. The food was perfect and went out without hiccup. Him and his helper were very experienced and had an awesome working dynamic. Kona Jerry’s can be summed up in one word: DEEEEEELICIOUS! I hired KJ and his team to cater a fundraiser for about 200 executives in the fruit and veggie industry. Our event was country rock themed, so BBQ was a natural addition. And though we wanted hometown BBQ, we also wanted to keep it light, and offer a variety of fruits and veggies. KJ did the job, and our guests LOVED the food! The rotisserie smoker he uses for the meats and veggies is absolutely DYNAMITE! The flavor goes through and through, and because of his cooking technique it keeps the meat light and healthy. Much better than fried food. Him and his team came early and cooked on-site as guests arrived, which was memorable in itself. Working with him leading up to the event was a breeze as well. He was always responsive and easy to get in touch with for questions. He also developed a custom menu for our event to highlight fruits and veggies, and worked within my minimal non-profit budget. It was fabulous from beginning to end, so I will definitely be keeping in mind for future events! P. S. Waiting for photos from the photographer, but will share some of the food when I have. In the meantime, GETYOUSOME! :-)

This past Saturday, we had a 50 person wedding reception at our home and backyard in Monterey, California. We selected Kona Jerry to cater our event and we absolutely could not be more happy with the wonderful work that he did. We first met Jerry at the Monterey Farmer’s Market and knew from the start that he would be perfect. His tri-tip is absolutely amazing and is even better the next day, his salads are made from scratch and he brings all the skills of a professional chef in a real, down-to-earth way. We were very very specific and detailed in terms of what we wanted for the event and what we were asking for required a lot of flexibility on Jerry’s part. He fulfilled all of our requests to a T, surpassing our expectations by far. He even received a standing ovation from our guests and his incredibly warm personality was a big factor in making our day all that it was. Our menu was Jerry’s incredible tri-tip, his beautiful pulled-pork, magnificent coleslaw, wonderful potato salad and we also had a seafood bar of smoked salmon(served in slabs!), giant prawns and Jerry’s smoked halibut served in artichoke cups. He did all this at a reasonable cost and there was plenty of food(and leftovers for days!). When Jerry says ‘Nobody’s going to go hungry!’, he means it! Thanks for everything Jerry! Your charm and commitment to quality is amazing. Highly recommended!

Jerry has the best food stand at the Monterey Farmers Market, hands down. Jerry and his helpful team serve up melt in your mouth tri tip, smokey ribs, and home-comforting hulihuli-like chicken. All meat selections are perfect without any condiment or BBQ sauce but the sauce they provide does rock the pallate, no doubt. Plates are served with their potato salad and baked beans, reasonably priced for the quality they deliver. But what is hulihuli? Chicken the way Hawaii folks like their rotisserie chicken. And yes, Jerry is from Kona so he is the man to trust. Others are catching on because the line is getting longer and the regulars are increasing! Not only do they bring Monterey awesome dinner-to-go on Tuesday nights, they also cater amazing specialties, according to their website. If you don’t make it out to farmer’s market often you should definitely make a special trip next Tuesday to pick up some dinner from Jerry.

If you love BBQ this guy is a must! His BBQ is hands down the best on the Peninsula! The ribs, chicken, tri-tip, and brisket are all amazing! Jerry is very nice and doesn’t skimp on the portions. Always has a line at Farmers Market. This is the same Kona Jerry who used to be at Bruno’s Market.
