Munguia’s Mexican Express

Apparently I got the wrong thing because all the other reviews seem to be fairly good. I ordered the carne asada nachos (something simple that I thought couldn’t be F’d up) for $ 6.99.
As soon as I started eating I realized the food was cold and not just the guac and sour cream but the meat, chips and whatever pieces of random sprinkled on cheese I could find. It was so disgusting and I wanted to go back in and ask for a refund but j just took the loss on this one. I couldn’t finish the food and already now I’m feeling sick from it, the meat was greasy and it was drenched in sour cream so basically meat on chips with cold sour cream :(

Amazing authentic Mexican food at a great price. I can’t believe this is actually at the mall. The bacon shrimp is so good. The rice and beans are delicious and I love their carne asada. My mom had the tamales and said they were delicious.

I’ve tried with this place but I just can’t anymore…
When this location opened my coworkers purchased Asada Fries and gave me a bite. They were good. I was excited to give it a try. I did!
Unfortunately, when I got my own the fries were ok. They even lacked enough meat.
A few days ago, I gave them a second try … this time I asked for carnitas and extra carnitas. This place looks family owned (I could be wrong) so I wanted to be a support and didn’t mind paying extra. I did forget to ask for the extra meat in the plate but they charged me $.50 on a separate receipt. I was satisfied this time around.
Today changed my mind. I went in to order the same thing… the girl at the register was friendly but seemed she was being trained by another lady. I asked for extra meat and the trainer said «I don’t think we are doing that right now…» I was confused and she walked away to the back while the girl at the register took my order.
She returned and said it’s going to be $ 1.00 extra. I explained last time I was only charged .50 cents. The trainer replied with «well that’s what my boss said.»
I was frustrated. I simply said well then no worries and Thank You and walked away.
For me it was the last straw. I was tired of the inconsistencies thus this will be my last trip there.

Best Mexican food in montebello everything is made fresh and the staff is very friendly the mole and burritos are the best.

Best Mexican food in town, I consider myself lucky any time I get to eat here, loved their food for years now. I recommend either trying the el pastor burrito or the cheese enchiladas plate, if your at the Montebello mall, you gotta try this place.

Good not Excellent like there old spot. Pricey for being a Express place not a Restaurant. To bad this was my favorite place and workers too. Does not feel or taste the same. Won’t come again. Sorry

Ok, so it goes like this, they open and first they had nice people working there and the food was great, I recommended this place for everyone I know in the area, yesterday I went there in the morning craving egg burrito but I didn’t want all the meat and chili I wanted it simple, I told the girl over there that kept on telling me what they have on the menu, all with meat and chili which I didn’t want, I wanted it so simple, just the eggs, avocado and lettuce. As simple as that. The girl didn’t want to do that, now I am not sure what was her problem it seems to me it was pure ignorance cuz I really don’t see how complicated it is to make a plain burrito, it’s too bad actually that they hire this girl cuz she have no clue. Tell you the truth after three attempts to order a breakfast burrito and been told how much this place cannot do for me! I just left. Too bad cuz the food is not bad. You guys better get some more respective people after all if you want people to come to you you must give them what they want or at least the minimum!!! A plain burrito! Good luck really I am not sure I will go there at least not as long as the service sucks. It was great just a few days ago, such a shame :(

We had an asada burrito and even though it’s a good size but it shouldn’t be more than $ 8 in my personal opinion. I sometimes pay around the same price for a whole meal. The quality of the burrito was good; the tortilla was soft and hot, onions but not over too many, good cilantro and delicious green sauce, only the meat was a little dry. The service was great at the register even though they messed up my coworker’s order, however, they made it up for her in a matter of seconds and we really appreciate that since we came here during our lunch and we were limited on time. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and the service, would we come back? Of course! We work here, It is a great option to eat at the mall when there’s no time to go out of the mall.
