This place is crawling with roaches. I stopped by the meat counter to order and a roach was crawling up the glass! A man whom I believe is the owner asked the butcher«Where’s the cucaracha spray?». I cannot believe this place has an «A» rating from the health dept. I ended up purchasing a coke and the cashier never put down her phone to charge me. I will never go to this place again.

A great market for international foods, fresh fruit and veggies, deli meats and cheeses, they also make their own Hummus.

my grandma used to shop here all the time for cheese and Deli meats which all tasted amazing when I was a child. as an adult I’m now vegetarian but I can’t say much about the meats anymore but the cheeses are just as good as I remember them when I used to sneak pieces from out of my grandma’s refrigerator. Same thing for the Kalamata Olives, I’d sneak a bunch out and eat them all haha. The customer service is great as well, very friendly and go out of their way to help you find what you’re looking for :-)

I like the vegetables they have. Very good quality and lower prices than the majority of stores in the area. Really worth the trip. And the fruits and vegetables are from local farms. Makes it even more worthwhile to shop there.

I have lived in Montebello for many years and never went there until last week. I was very pleased of the down home family based business with a personal touch. The variety of items that you will never see at a commercial market is great! I love the spices, yogurt, deli and the Armenian cracker bread. I will from now on be a regular customer.

I almost don’t want to tell you how great this place is because it’s busy enough on a weekend and it’s been our family secret for a while now. The produce is good and cheap, you can find different ethnic foods here for a decent price. Noodles from Russia I think, fresh pita bread and lavash, bulk couscous, bulgur wheat and other grains. Their dairy section has this really great russian sour cream which is thick and creamy. It’s the one in the yellow container w/Russian lettering. They carry Kefir which is sometimes hard to find and they have refrigerated fresh puff pastry. You can find fresh spices in bulk here and also nuts. They have a great deli which has a nice variety of cheese and meats, their french feta is really great and we also like the smoked gouda. They carry a lot of Armenian favorites too. Their meat is fresh and decently priced. I like their whole chickens, they cut it up for me and it makes the best chicken noodle soup. My mamacita will buy all our produce and extra stuff here, and go somewhere else for everything else, it’s that good.

I absolutely love this market. Whenever I’m in the area since I have some family lives here I’ll come and stock up. The French feta is a must. They also carry the Dodoni kind which is straight from Greece in the brine and a really good price. The Greek Kasseri is also from Greece and amazing. I also get my European juices here along with a really good salsa from the deli. The veggies are cheap and offer a wide variety. Seriously, worth it. And they always play the good jams. I’ll be bellydancing as I’m shopping!

Cute little grocery store. they sell pretty cheap European candy. Like $ 3.50 a bag for those ones with the squirrel and bears on them. I think they’re Russian but they’re so delicious. They also sell fresh pita, lavash, and other breads. Little meat market and a fresh produce section. They also sell different kinds of cheeses here in the fridge(I think Greek cheese). I went here to go buy some tahini and garbanzo beans for hummus making. :) Tahini wasn’t bad at $ 4.50ish a bottle. I would love to come back for the candy… :) $ 10 min purchase for credit card.

I think this is my favorite grocery store in the city :). Yes, I shall walk about 35 min out of my way to go buy little things I need to make dinner :) even if Vons is about 12 min away from my home hehe. People there are friendly, produce and meat is fresh and cheap, and you can find something new everyday. Love it: D!
