Well i guess i found a new mechanic, if your looking for an honest reliable and someone that is not out to make a dollar after you, this is the place Mike was real good talking joking and being honest. Got my car back and right away i can feel the difference. Difinitley taking my other cars.

I’ve known Mike for over 20 years now. He doesn’t look that old, but he is… LOL.
He has worked on my vehicles, my families vehicles, my friends vehicles, and their friends… etc…and I have never known anyone to be unhappy with his service and professionalism. He is the epitome of mechanics.
Years back, I moved to Orange County. Recently, I had a dealership work on my Chevy Silverado. They did a full brake job, with rotors and drums, etc… The brakes never worked right. The pedal would get harder and harder, eventually the truck would not move as the brakes would get that tight. I took it back to the dealer THREE times (towed twice) and to no avail, they told me there was nothing wrong with it.
I put the truck on a flatbed and shipped it up to Mike in Montclair. Within a few days, he had the problem solved and probably saved me about $ 500 in the process. I cannot recommend Mike strongly enough.

Great place to get your auto repaired. Friendly and fast service… super honest and great workmanship. I never take my cars to the dealer on to these guys!

I call this industry «the bad news bear» industry. We all know that when cars get old and used, they need repairs and service, but who do we turn to for the «bad news» when there are so many places to go?!
I have been going to Mike for over 10 years now for all my car repairs. I recently had an oil change done at another service center and I knew it was needing other repairs so I paid for a $ 90 diagnostic to see what it needed. They made it sound like I needed the repairs done right there and then and that it would be $ 1,200 for parts and service.
I took it to Mike to get a second opinion. No diagnostic charge and he showed me what was going on with my car and what needed to be replaced. The cost to fix my car and get it up to par again was $ 525, almost $ 800 less than a local chain repair shop.
If you are looking for a solid, trustworthy guy to deliver your bad news, with Mike, it’s most likely going to be good news in comparison! I recommend J & H to everyone!

This was my first time heading over to J & H. I do not have a great deal of automotive knowledge, and even with the help of family members I could still not correctly diagnose the problem I was having with my 1999 Buick Regal. Even with all of the tests I did at home no one could figure out what was wrong. Thankfully Mike went above and beyond a typical service and figured out what the problem was. It’s difficult to find someone with experience, professionalism, and friendliness nowadays and Mike has it all! Reasonable pricing and the full explanation as to what was wrong with the car in the first place is definitely one of the many reasons why I would come back here.

My entire family has been going to J & H for years and they have always been professional, kind and reasonable with all of my auto needs. You will never be disappointed with them as they will always tell you what your car needs and how long you have until it has to be done! (Coming from a strapped-​for-​cash college student!)

This is a great place to take your car. The service is always professional. Very friendly mechanic. Mike has been running J & H automotive for years. He is always very reasonably priced, service is fast and reliable. I even took my car here for some specialty custom work, and the job was done great. Mike is about the most honest mechanic you will ever find, he has never tried to up sell me or convince me to fix parts that weren’t in need of fixing. My family has been coming here for over 15 years.
