Way overpriced, poor drink selection, poor service. I could eat at a high end steakhouse and pay for what I paid for a bunch of appetizers and some drinks. Don’t waste your money.

This place should be on mtv jersey shore, definitely not Montauk worthy, unless $ 15 sugar loaded cocktails are your thing.

Great view… but they advertised $ 3 happy hour beers but charged $ 6 a beer — for Miller Life cans. Really? The waitress said«Oh that’s only downstairs inside, not on the deck where everybody is sitting. Not a single person inside, including a bartender. I check the signs outside and not a word about this. Lame. I own a restaurant and would be run out of town if I tried this.

Just another reason why the Sloppy Tuna is the best place in Montauk– my wife and I got our car stuck in the sand outside of the Tuna. I went in to ask for assistance and the owner grabbed a bunch of guys, came out, and helped us get out of the sand. Without their help, our car would have been stuck there all night. I had tried for at least an hour to get some help. The Sloppy Tuna was the place that came through for me. Thank you so much to Jake and the crew for proving that there are still kind, good people in the world.

This place is horrible. The bouncers were extremely offensive and told my friends and I «that we can get a cab ride home for $ 10 if we suck dick». They also called us bitches and sluts. This also came from the head bouncer. I would never go back here.

Went with a group of 8 girls for late dinner before heading out for dancing and drinks. In-door seating is strange as there is just a half divider between dinner as bar becomes full. Staff does not seem attentive or competent at taking orders(their job.?) Drink orders were wrong, food came out, by the time most of group was finished eating, one girl still had not received her entrée after we let them know twice her medium well burger did not come out… by the last time she received a medium rare burger within minutes. Side of fries never came. Asked to speak with the manager, waitress responded no manager was there(illegal…maybe?) I requested they take off the burger of the check, she came back and said yes no problem burger and side(again that never came out) would be taken off. Lastly, because we were the last table and the restaurant transitions into night scene, we literally saw the manager(«who was not there») flick lights on and off, telling waitress«WENEEDTOGETTHEMOUT», Please note and recall lack of attentiveness service… we had not even received our check yet. Awkwardly enough after getting caught, he came to us and said«I wasn’t trying to kick you out» and brought us shots. 1 star for overall experience. I threw another star because lucky for us, although uncomfortable, we still have fun and laugh at any experience because Montauk is beautiful. This was complete opposite of any things we have heard, but with so many great places in this beautiful town, maybe check out all your options.

Good location but terrible service and very weak drinks. We complained that the first round tasted very different than the second round. Bartender was very rude and dismissive. She said it was because the manager made the first round. Well is it our fault your drinks are inconsistent? Then the manager came over as we asked to speak to him after treatment from the bartender. He was also very dismissive. As we walked out the bartender yelled at us and I quote«The customer isn’t always right». Really? You just yelled that at us after we just paid our tab and your drinks are inconsistent? Wow.

Loud. Food is bar food. Great place if you want to listen to music, not care about quality and watch sports. Totally lame place in my opinion.

This place is veeeery expensive. Tequila shots are $ 12 and so tiny): Their food is alright, nothing special to me. This is the hot spot for nightlife in Montauk. But I would say its audience is mostly 30 + at least in mid-May which is when I was there. It’s right by the beach, which is nice! Overall a fun experience but I wish things were cheaper and the audience younger.

Excellent location, amazing views, perfect for a summer snack or lunch. Doubles up as a sports bar as well and loads of energy in the joint. And great music too… in the background. Food sucks.

I didn’t go here at night but had a fun-tastic time on a Saturday afternoon. Came up to Montauk with a group of 12 girls(left the menfolk at home) and for some reason, everyone wanted to go to the beach at the Sloppy Tuna. We wandered into the Sloppy Tuna for refreshments(alcohol) and ended up never going back to the beach. We stayed at the outside bar and had a great time. Maybe because it was in the afternoon, but I thought the bouncers were very nice. The people in the bar were friendly(it was not super packed). Pete, the Australian bartender, was convivial and friendly … and made some great drinks. I never drink menu drinks(I am a strict vodka/club drinker) but I tasted a friend’s Montauk Mule and ended up ordering those all afternoon. Pete made my friend a bushwhacker that tasted like a milkshake. I would count Sloppy Tuna as one of my favorite places in Montauk.

Never thought I would bring myself to walk through the door of this place because of the name(sloppy) & all the bad rap this place is getting/has gotten, but on a cloudy day in Montauk what better to do than a lil day drinkin in walking distance to our hotel ! We sat at the second floor bar. There is a ground level bar as well but why not sit on the second floor to get the beautiful views of the ocean & the ocean breeze. We only had drinks here but all the food that came out of the kitchen looked top notch so we’ll def come back to give the food a shot in the future. I can see why this place would get a bad rap at night and on the weekends but I’m glad we checked it out for ourselves on a weekday during the daytime. There were families there having lunch with their young children & a nice mix of young & older people there for lunch & drinks as well. Our bartender or as they call themselves«slopologists» James(Jay) was super friendly & attentive even with a packed bar & tons of drink orders coming in he stayed on top of things are made sure everyone had a full cocktail at all times… my kinda guy !!

Talk about a fun bar! Its right in front of the beach, they have amazing clams and oysters. A little secret, they’re margaritas are very strong, we like that! They have a giant jenga to play, they have good music. Outdoor bar and second floor bar is pretty cool. This place is a must to visit when you’re in montauk!

It’s a typical place you have to visit when you’re bar hopping in Montauk, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best. It gets really packed on the weekends. So much so that locals are actually getting petitions signed to limit the number of people in the bar, which is understandable. Also, the bouncers aren’t too nice. We were actually out last Thursday and a basketball player was there. My friend took a photo, because why not? Apparently the owner told the bouncer my friend was done and had to go, essentially kicking him out. Excuse me? I didn’t know taking a picture of someone famous was reason to ask a customer to leave. Are there any signs around that say so? Also weirdest moment ever. Midgets, midgets everywhere… In Santa clause, gingerbread man, and another costume I don’t remember because I was obliterated beyond reasoning. All dancing to freaky techno music that had the lyrics, «it’s Christmas time, oh yeah, it’s Christmas time.» I don’t know, it was a bizarre night. There are a lot of different areas there that you can hang out in, but I wouldn’t stay here for the entire duration of your night. I guess the Sloppy tuna shouldn’t be called the Sloppy tuna, more like the Tuna sandwich on rye bread.

One night in Montauk… For the weak, one night is all you really need. For the rest… The Sloppy Tuna will give you a nice taste of Montauk nightlife. This spot is a little off the main road but still easy to spot. It glows in the night. GLOWS. The line out front looks intimidating, but we only waited 20 minutes. Was it worth the wait? Nothing really is, but considering all places in Montauk have insane lines, 20 minutes is reasonable. There is no dress code, but guys mostly wore pastel shorts with linen shirts(unbuttoned to the pecks) and girls wore the bare minimum while still looking«potential investment banker’s wife» worthy. I like the two different levels. The first one has the main dance floor and the top level has the open windows and a deck that looks out over the ocean. You may end up in said ocean later in the night. This place gets HOT. Like sickeningly overheated. I couldn’t drink my gin and tonics fast enough to cool down. Speaking of drinks, it takes a long time for the bartender to come over to you. So maybe don’t drink the liqueur too fast. The cab service sucks out here. Make sure you have a ride booked well in advance or you will be walking. Über doesn’t work here kiddos and your cell service may not either. But for that regrettable sloppy tuna drunk text? Yeah, your cell will work perfectly. Until next time, Tuna… and please stay sloppy.

Normally I would leave well enough alone and move on. But after witnessing one of the most immature and hostile displays of a business attacking patrons and locals on Facebook, I figured I would take my comments to Unilocal. Why? Because I commented(very professionally I might add) that they might want to reserve some of their really insulting comments for a private space instead of blasting people left and right… and their result was to block me from the page and delete my comments. I’m not a huge fan of censorship, especially by an establishment that professes itself to be a lover of «its lovers and haters alike», and figured it was worth noting that the way they speak to people is… horrible. Keep in mind that when you patron a business you patron its entire identity… and a business that makes comments like these is not one I will support: 1. The Sloppy Tuna: Trodder Furlong thanks Trodder these idiots on social media just making the place more is a destination 2. The Sloppy Tuna: Justin Fallon why I am even bothering with you ! You live in CT and come out here for the summer. Enjoy the fireworks and muzzle it 3. The Sloppy Tuna Ian Greenberg what are you even talking about? First you can’t do math. We know you have problem with percentages. And your like 50 on Facebook using«lol» get a job And other comments including completely despicable references to individual’s personal lives, such as spending their husbands or ex-husbands money… So hey, if you want to risk being attacked by a business on social media… by all means, get to know these people and give them your money.

We had an awesome time here our first night in Montauk, we went a bit earlier so it wasn’t crazy crowded like it gets sometimes. They have indoor and outdoor bars on two levels, with a deck up top that has a killer view of the beach. Nothing fancy but a lot of fun! Surprisingly, drinks are really reasonable for MTK and you’re on the beach so it’s definitely a good spot! A good amount of beer on tap, cider, and a full bar of course. Lots of music and they have events pretty frequently that get packed. Downstairs they have beer pong and cornhole outside, and a huge dance floor inside so there is something for everyone. Definitely a casual beachy bar, we came after dinner but it would be a great spot to hit up on your way back from the beach for happy hour! I would come back for a casual night for sure! We had a blast :)

I spent an evening here as part of a bachelorette weekend. It was fun. The bouncer let us skip the line which was nice. I loved the water jugs that were easily accessible, because it was really hot in there. The music selection was decent at first, but I got tired of the non-stop hip hop. The crowd was on the younger early 20s side I think, with a few random older regulars. Most of the patrons were good sports about helping our bachelorette complete the checklist she was given. I’d go back.

I’ve come here several times and had a really fun time each time I have visited. I understand the concerns of people who remember what MTK«used to be», but I appreciate that at least The Sloppy Tuna has a laid-back, beachy theme/vibe and you can come as you are. You can literally come in right from the beach, which in my mind IS what Montauk should be and has been. It’s not like other new places that are trying to cultivate a douchey Hamptons vibe where everyone has to be a size 2 and wear their finest Prada pants.(I know…” Prada Pants”? I couldn’t have come up with a better insult?) Anyway. I have brought several groups of friends here and we always stumble out at 3AM the earliest having had a great time. This summer, during our girls’ weekend, we were here literally each night. As «risqué» as the Mardi Gras themed night was… WELOVEDIT. Please do it again! There were masks and beads on the fence that you were encouraged to take and dress up in while waiting on line. There were mardi grad themed drinks and food, a burlesque dancer, great decorations. I really love the drinks here, and the upstairs bar is awesome for overlooking the ocean and some of the town. This place always draws a crowd, but the people in the crowd are chill, laid back, and just trying to have a good time. Out of all of the new places in MTK, Sloppy Tuna does not have that pretentious, city-like vibe which is awesome. It’s called the SLOPPYTUNA. So why some people are coming here looking for a salad fork to match their dinner fork, I’m not sure I understand. My only complaint is the bartenders are sometimes too selective. Trust me, I see that the downstairs bar gets PACKED. BUT, I waited patiently at the bar for a while without being served. The bartender kept serving the next people to walk up(always men), would look at me in the eyes and literally ignore me to help each new guy who walked up. Only when I said, «I’m sorry I have to leave because I want to be at a place where I can actually drink» did she acknowledge me standing RIGHTINFRONTOFHER, and by this time, it was too late, I left for the night and almost did not come back the following night. Luckily, I did, and had a great time. But, please do not be presumptuous in who will tip and who will not based on gender. This was very obvious, even to the guy next to me because he asked if I wanted him to order my drink for me since it looked like I was getting ignored. If you are looking to have a great night with your friends, you will definitely find it here! Crowd is fun, the DJ is AWESOME, you will have a great time dancing and drinking. Just be aware that drinks are at times, hard to get. Will be back this summer!
