Wil helped me with buying my FIRST rod and reel. He talked to me for a long time about the nuances of fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He also spoke highly of a nearby tackle shop that could be his only competitor. He’s a good dude.
Nothing but great things to say about this shop. Highly recommended.
* For the review on 12/​27/​2015. How could you leave a 1 star review like that without even stepping foot in the store or knowing all the facts? As far as I can tell, Wil is the owner and only employee. For all we know he could have had an emergency and had to close the store for the day. You give 5 star reviews to places like Round Table Pizza and Togo’s yet give a mom and pop store a 1 star? Your review should be removed or at the very least filtered.

I was looking to buy a new rod for my new reel. I looked on Unilocal and saw the bait tackle shop and thought it would be nice to support local business instead of the bigger sporting good chain. I live in Glendora not too far from the shop but still a trip down the freeway. Showed up in the store was close. Both the sign and the Unilocal app said the store would be open maybe call before you head down.

Glad I found Wil’s on Unilocal.
This place is reminiscent of your long lost mom & pop tackle store (RIP Bob’s in West LA). Wil is always behind the counter and offers up good service and products at a fair price. He is also a wealth of knowledge and will not try and sell you items you don’t need; be it for for a 3 day deep sea trip for tuna or for rockfish on a ½ day trip.
At times, the stock can be a tad low, but Wil can, and will, order items that hat is not currently have in stock.

I’m a local here in Monrovia and fishing is pretty much all I do, that being said I go through tackle like you wouldn’t believe. I usually order my conventional gear online because going to bass pro shops all the time takes it’s toll on my gas tank. Ever since Wil opened up shop literally a mile away from me I’ve been using him for all my fishing necessities. He also wraps rods too and does a great job .From bass to billfish Wil carries what you need. Nothing beats a good old tackle shop with great service and fishing stories which Monrovia has been needing for a long time !

Great shop in a nice location. Wil had a tool that walmart and sports chalet did not carry. I’m glad I found this place and dont have to drive to Bass pro in Rancho for a legit tackle shop. Thanks Wil I’ll definitely be back!

Boy What a Store!!! If you want to know about Fishing Wil is the owner of Wil’s Sport & Tackle and he knows everything! Wil’s Sport & Tackle is across from Library Park here in Old Town Monrovia and has all kinds of GREAT sporting goods for the Park in addition to having a GREAT section of Tackle.
