HaLa Skin and Body

Sad to say that I went there today to get some more of a great product I had gotten after a microdermabrasion… And found that they were closed. The furniture was gone and all the things were packed up. It’s unfortunate because it was a small and personable medical spa. Sad to see it gone.

Neveen is good at what she do. She is very friendly and easy-​going.
I always feel great after the microdermabrasion.
The place is nice and neat.

The place is so well kepted and the ambiance is amazing, I have not a had a facial there yet, but making my appointment soon. Joanie is super sweet and knows her what she is doing and how to take care of your skin.

I came here to get a facial with Joanie and I am so very happy I did! She did an amazing facial and mask on me. After the microdermabrasion my skin felt so fresh and clean! My skin as of late had been more dry and after she worked on it, it was clean and amazingly soft. I have to say Joanie is one of the most knowledgeable aestheticians I know! She has the softest touch and is so great at explaining exactly what she is working on! I love coming to see her! You won’t regret it!

Booked a 4:30PM appointment with Neveen on Tuesday, November 11^th — thank goodness for a work holiday day off, and so decided to give my face some much needed TLC, especially, since my face started getting the acne invasion, and as well as getting grainy from the post Halloween liquid latex feel (was a zipper face zombie, lol!).
I came in about 15mins before my appointment to fill out some paperwork on my skin preferences, and Neveen got me some water and asked if I needed to pee before we began. The process lasted a whole hour.
Neveen started off with cleansing and massaging my face. Next, she applied a fruity enzyme masque to help hydrate before getting it steamed to help open up my pores for the extraction process. The extraction didn’t hurt and thank goodness only a few extractions, woohoo! Next, she applied a light pumpkin peel on my face to help remove the grainy, dull skin portion. Then she got down to the microdermabrasion portion. Afterwards, she applied a cooling gel masque on my face.
Between the enzyme masque and steaming process, she gave me an awesome neck and shoulder massage. It felt so good and was slightly bummed that it was over afterwards. For the cooling gel masque, she gave me an awesome scalp massage. Finally, she applied moisturizing lotion on me, and gave me a final facial massage before the session was over with.
Overall verdict: My face feels so much better and smoother, and best of all, minimal damages the next day, woohoo!!! Will definitely look forward to working with her again at some point :)

I was able to book a short notice facial with microderm (total brownie points right there). Naveen did an awesome job. I left with my skin feeling amazing and my next appointment booked.

I started going to this shop because of a groupon and I am now addicted! Neveen is great and does a amazing job! My old skin is looking new again!

I love this place! If you need to get a facial go to HaLa. Both Marlo and Joanie are amazing. And the place is so cute and comfortable. They did a great job. I am totally going back to get more treatments. I highly recommend the place.

Amazing time with this cute store. I love how small it is, how the couches were a pair of two and just the nice pretty decoration of the whole entire room. Man this looked like a place that a girl designed and it was comfortable yet very well done!
So as Evangeline said signed up on Groupon and I did the same! I wouldn’t have ever known this spot because I rarely come and go in the area of Monrovia but this place is quite cute and reminds me what Uptown Whittier looks like and feels like.
The receptionist was kind of enough to ask me if I wanted some water before my treatment and I certainty did since it took me a little bit of ways to get over here. I sat and looked around I was a little bit on the early side but that didn’t really matter they were quick and operating as if I was on time!
My specialist was a lady named Joanie and she was so attentive and very much a person you would want to do a facial with! She did many different types of masks that helped with my certain skin type. Joanie also examined my skin to determine what is the best formulation to and care that I need. I was very glad with the service and I am actually going to be going back in a month to get another facial from Joanie.
I must say that I think she didn’t harm my skin and leave me any scaring whatsoever. I am sometimes very reluctant to try another place out because of my previous experience with other facial spots. But this is defiantly one of the best that I have been to and it does sadden me that I never know about this place ever existing ! Well at least I know now and I am very very happy with all of it! :)

I am shocked that the Skin Care Shop doesn’t have any reviews yet! I found out about this place through a groupon they were offering for 50% off microdermabrasion. Some things probably shouldn’t be purchased on sale (like botox and breast implants) but I thought that micro was borderline enough to go for it!
The Shop is very cute and located in downtown Monrovia. I loved my esthetician, who was super friendly and knowledgeble about the whole process. I asked her tons of questions about peels, facials, and micro the entire time and she was so straightforward about everything. She didn’t bash other spas or procedures like some tend to do. I also liked how she wasn’t trying to sell me on every single product she was using, and I LOVED how she didn’t follow me to the register showing me ten different products I should buy at $ 100 a piece — seriously nothing is more awkward!
As for the procedure, I think she did a great job — my skin looks awesome! It lasted a little over an hour and included a facial, diamond micro, a masque, and hand massage (ahhhh… the best!) I booked another appointment right away. One last thing I liked about them (vs. other spas in the area) is they’re a medi spa and have an MD on staff. It makes me more comfortable about putting chemicals on my face!
I highly recommend this place. I may even push the envelope and go for a peel next time!
