We would give this stellar farm and family 100 stars if we could. Why? 1. We got married here! It was a beautiful evening. The farm required almost no additional decoration, it is just that well put together and accessories w pumpkins, garlic wreaths, flowers, apple cider, etc etc. we booked our wedding here a year and a half in advance and the reservations were already filling up quickly! The food at the wedding was largely provided by the farm. Numerous guests left saying it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding, which wasn’t a surprise to us! 2. The family who runs this place are upstanding members of society(Guy, Austin, etc!). They grow their produce the way nature intended. They cultivate relationships w their customers. They let us plant an apple tree on their property(it was a gift to my wife!), which we hope to visit year after year. 3. The farm dinners! We’ve been to several. It’s equal to or better than blue hill quality of vegetables and prep, for about 200 less a person(ok, 5 courses instead of 12 but who’s counting!) and byo. If you are lucky enough to get a seat, you will witness chefs from NYC cook up their vegetarian feasts using food from the farm. 4. Weekend farm pizza brunch. They have the most heavenly wood fired pizza oven. They even used it at our wedding! 5. We just can’t say enough about this place. To give you a feel for who we are, Our life philosophy is very much Michael Pollan inspired, and this place fits w our goal to «eat real food, not too much, mostly veggies.» Part of planting the tree on their grounds was to give us yet another excuse to come visit year after year. They are a wonderful family and farm, so stop by and introduce yourself and grab some awesome fresh veggies or wood fire pizza!

Blooming Hill Farm is located on Route 208 between Monroe and Washingtonville. Its farmer, Guy Jones, has been growing produce for many of New York’s top restaurants for nearly three decades. It’s all organic and some of it is grown in the black dirt fields around Chester. It is open for retail on weekends and serves pastries and breakfast items on weekends. On the last Saturday of each month, a chef from a restaurant comes to the farm and prepares a vegetarian dinner using available produce from the farm. Typically, dinners accomodate about 65 people and costs $ 75 per person. They provide beer and mulled wine(in Winter). People typically bring their own wine. This is as close to a Napa Valley vibe you’ll get less than 90 minutes from NYC. To those of us in the area, the experience ofbeing up here would be diminished if Blooming Hill were not part of our weekend rituals. I’m writing this review after another wonderful farm dinner(11÷28÷15.

Came here for a wedding. The atmosphere was great and the indoor seating area helped control the heat. The food was delicious and grown on the farm. The staff was very friendly and attentive to the guests

Weekend brunch, make it there early enough for the pancakes, they run out quickly and for good reason. Second best are the pizzas, I’d always choose green. I am partial to the Iced Mint Tea but my dear friend and dear mother both rave over the Blue hand dripped Coffee. The style of the market is out of a bricolage daydream, chic and rustic. The owners and staff are as charming as the setting.

This is one of the best places for both a meal and your seasonal produce shopping. The staff is genuine and helpful. The food is delicious, but the menu is small. They have a few staples on their menu, like pancakes and breakfast pizza, but they rotate in the freshest seasonal ingredients in a few dishes each week. You can get something different every time you go and never be disappointed. I go for the food … And take my time because of the warm and beautiful atmosphere.

This place is worth the drive from anywhere in the metro area. I found this farm through a Celebrity chef from NYC who hosted a fabulous dinner here, she made everything with veggies picked from the farm. This farm is open on weekends and sells amazing local fruits and vegetables. They also have their own kitchen from where you can order a great organic brunch, this is made with their own produce and you can eat it outdoors surrounded by nature. My favorite is the red pizza with fresh plum tomatoes just baked in their wood-burning oven. Sometimes I buy cheese, bread and honey. Which are also great in taste.

I found this farm, much to my surprise, a few years ago. It’s become steadily more popular as time goes by. I visit once a year when I am in the area visiting family. It has a CSA, a farm stand and a café on the weekends. The market is first rate, although more pricey than you might see at a farmers market. They have local cheese, dairy, yogurt and vegetables from the farm. Ever had a ramp? Try it here. I’ve not heard of them or seen them where I live in California. I’m not a huge fan of the pizzas, but I just like eating here. The coffee is really good. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outside, you sit next to a little stream and the kids have a lot of fun walking along it and throwing in rocks. It seems like most of the customers are from NYC, as this is about an hour or so north of the city. And, I can see why they come here because it’s really unique.
