Great food at great prices. Everything we ordered came out perfectly. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly, as were the owners. A great place to bring the family. I would highly recommend!

Had a good run. Time to go out of business. Outdated, stale, fetid, rank, dank, nasty, gnarly, moldy, disgusting, empty, dark, depressing,

Anyone who gave this restaurant 1 star and wanting to give it less than 1 star if they could, are more in line with the proper review of this establishment. Food and service is terrible, and I am not really sure they have the full approval of the board of health, as the restaurant looks and feels dingy, although I have never seen the kitchen. The only thing I can agree with from the positive reviews is, the owner will greet you and bid you farewell when you leave.

Have been here many times, and always greeted warmly by the owners. Warm cozy place. Yes the décor is a little outdated, but I am there for the food and spending time with family and friends, so that doesn’t really matter much to me. Their prime rib is great, the vegetables are always fresh, never frozen or canned. Yes service can be slow, but it is nice to be able to sit and eat and not worry about being rushed out so they can flip the table.

When an owner comes to the table to question the customer about the food is just wrong. If they have to defend there food and service is just wrong. Potato skins were burnt to a crisp and the owner says they been making them that way for 150yrs. Really. Really your gonna argue with me. I order a grilled chicken sandwich the waitress brings me a BLT And I tell her I didn’t order it. The owner comes out and argues with me. Really!!! However the Onion soup was good. Waitress was trying but owners are not customer friendly. Sad because it’s a nice place with a nice outdoor eating area but if owners are not nice and who wants that.

I REALLYWANTEDTOLIKETHISPLACE. 1) The place décor is nice.(country simple) 2) The place is clean. 3) The owner seems like a really good guy & he cares. Now for the bad. 1) WORST service. Waitress seemed a bit of an attitude(I actually thought she was high) Slow… distant,.out of it. Then I ordered a buger. TERRIBLE!!! the bacon was good, the roll was good, beverage good… but the burger was terrible. I might give it another try. Maybe we hit an off night even though it was Friday.

Went here on a rainy day. It was raining inside and out. Our food(the prime rib) was good but boy does this place need to be updated. Not in any hurry to go back which is a shame as it is five minutes from our house.

I wish I could give minus stars, because one star is too good for this place. We went there last night for St Patrick’s Day dinner. To say the place was a madhouse would be a vast understatement. There were two bartenders for a restaurant that had at least three separate dining rooms. It was a nightmare to try and get a drink. But that was only the beginning. We waited over an hour for a table– that was promised to be ready in 20 minutes. Had they been honest we would, and should, have gone somewhere else. Once, finally seated, we proceeded to wait again. We waited for a waitress, we waited for our drinks and we waited for our«food» for over an hour. To say what they served us was food would be a lie. What they served us was DOG Food masquerading as corned beef. We got globs of fatty meat that looked like dog food. I am not exaggerating. it looked totally like the food I feed my dog. To give the food something to be compared to it– it looked like HASH from a can. Why? That’s exactly what we asked the owner –«why did our«food» look like that? She replied,“it was just the way that piece came out of the cooker’! Like it was our fault the meat looked like a mess on a plate! Like we should be satisfied with what we got, and to shut up! BUT, Then I saw her serve lovely sliced corned beef to a neighboring table. So it was not the cut of the piece we had– it was that they served us the dregs in the pot that should have been thrown out or turned into hash. What were were given was NOT the expensive meal we had paid for. My daughter asked for one meal to be removed from the bill since we could not eat our dinner. I thought that was a fair request. The owner refused and actually said some disparaging remarks about my daughter. I wish I had thought to record her remarks because they were uncalled for and could count for a battery case against the owner. What the owner did do is to give me a take-home box(aptly named a doggie bag) with one dinner’s worth of normal corned beef. That is not an okay way to handle a situation like this. What she should have done was to apologize, buy all of our dinners, since they were inedible anyway, and then to give us the doggie bag of decent food to take home(to make up for the food we never had for dinner grrr) If I can warn you away– PLEASEBEWARNED! Do not go to this hell hole! Go to any of the other nice restaurants in the area! This was by far the worst«dining’ experience I have ever had! I will never ever return to Garvey’s pub and I will tell all my friends to stay away as well.

Hidden gem. Very fine and generous portions. Never had a bad meal or experience. Staff is like family. And they have a lottery machine! I always forget to buy before going out to dinner. All in all well worth the trip.

Reminded me of a time I was driving in the French countryside and in a quaint village that I passed by saw a quainter restaurant with several cars parked. Stopped out of curiosity and enjoyed one of the best meals I have had till then, ever. This was a similar experience. The place is unusually located, the staff is friendly and the entrees specially the fish ones are heavenly. I will make this a regular place from now on.

A strange looking restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Truly Monroe’s hidden treasure. Sort of like Applebee’s in the atmosphere, but their staff truly cares about their customers and they have a large variety of fresh cooked food.
