This is a good place to grab a slice. Their pizza is one of the best in Monroe. It is also a nice place to grab a reasonable priced meal in a relaxing environment.

This place is pretty good for lunch or dinner. Wish they had delivery because I think they have the best Italian food in the area! Not crazy about their pizza by the slice but fresh pies are pretty good! All the other food is pretty good, the chicken is questionable sometimes but good most of the time. Their bread is SO delicious! Salads are amazing too, lots of toppings and fresh ingredients. The blonde waitress is very nice and attentive, can’t say the same about the other waitress. The dark hair waitress waited on my family the other night and seemed as though she had an attitude or like we were bothering her the entire time. She barely even cracked a smile when we left her a good tip despite being completely rude! If she was the only waitress, I would never eat dinner inside here.

We order from DTs a lot when we visit the in laws. Never the best. It’s edible. Nothing to write home about.

After many years living in Monroe and patronizing multiple pizza places here, I can tell you that D&t is legitimate– you get what you pay for. Some other people try to scam you with minimal cheese and they think you’ll actually come back. D&t’s is a quality pizza place. I have not eaten any of their other dishes, simply take out pizza, and I have not been disappointed.

We’ve been coming to d and t for as long as I can remember. Their food is delicious. We wish they had delivery though. That’s the one area they’re slacking in. Otherwise I would recommend this place.

From the outside this is your typical strip mall pizzeria, but what’s inside is anything but typical. Tonight my wife went to dinner with friends so I was on my own, called D&T and ordered the veal parmigiana dinner which comes with your choice of pasta, I did spaghetti, and choice of soup or salad, I did the salad with Italian dressing. I’ve always thought it was odd that they give you a packet of Ken’s salad dressing for your salad. Dinner also came with a generous hunk of Italian bread. This may have been the best veal parmigiana I have ever had. Ever. Anywhere. While veal is usually thin in this dish D&T’s was thicker, and I loved it! Their spaghetti was also thicker than what I usually have either at home or when dining out. Their sauce is good, not too tangy and nothing that got in the way of the taste of that veal. We’ve been coming here for years, mostly for pizza, I also love their pizza. Theirs is a doughy, thicker pie. It’s always thoroughly cooked but I think of it as slightly underdone, I love the chewiness! We’ve had toppings like sausage, meatball and onions, all were to our liking. Now my wife likes a thinner, well cooked pizza and there is a local pizzeria that makes theirs to her taste. Guess where we usually go when we get pizza… the ladies choice, of course!

Love this joint. Definitely a hole in the wall, but they make up in food quality and service what they lack in interior design. But hey, it’s an Italian restaurant in a glorified strip mall, ya know? Pizza always good, and I especially love the eggplant parm subs. Can’t go wrong with D&T, baby.

Wow, three stellar meals at this place and counting. Their portions are huge, their sauce is slightly sweet and very delicious, and everything is cooked really perfectly(even the shrimp comes out plump and tender). So far I’ve tried the penne in sauce, chicken parm, baked ziti, eggplant rollatini, shrimp parm, sausage and peppers, sausage pizza, minestrone soup, salad, and BBQ chicken pizza. Everything has been nothing short of exceptional. Red sauce Italian-American at it’s best. Can’t wait to come back!

I live nearby and frequented here only periodically because I was never thrilled with the food. Recently we had been visiting frequently with large groups of people including kids spending about $ 200 per visit. And EVERY visit we received the worst, nastiest service. But we kept going because of convenience. Well, we are not going back anymore after our last visit. We asked to speak with the owner and the young girl told us she was the owner. She has no customer service skills and is annoyed very time we come in to spend $ 200. There are several other pizza places in town who are happy to have our repeat business. Last night we ate at Romeos in Jamesburg, the food was delicious and we were treated with respect. They were thrilled to have us there. So Romeos can expect us every Friday night from now on. Good luck building your business D&T, it will be very difficult for you with the terrible service you are providing.

Let me tell you about my husband’s experience last week at our local pizzeria. My husband stopped in to grab 2 slices to bring home for my dinner. The«old man» behind the counter takes the order and throws the slices in the oven to warm them up. My husband hands the guy his card and is told that the total is less than $ 10 and he can’t use the card… albeit a debit card. My husband says he’s sorry, but he doesn’t have the cash on him(only has the debit card) and that he therefore cannot buy those slices. The old guy actually gets angry and says… «mother-(you-know-what)»… We certainly won’t be going back there! I can buy my morning coffee at WaWa($ 1.60) with my debit card, so what’s the big deal?! If this establishment wants to build their customer base, they need to bite the bullet with the fee for debit card transactions because that’s what most people use now! Get with the times. Also, would re-vamp the pizza sauce recipe… try seasoning it!(And don’t think people don’t notice the shrinking size of the pies that doesn’t get reflected in the price!) The pizza is less than mediocre, our preference is Romeo’s on 33 in Manalapan!

Pizza, panins, pasta… all at a good price. However, there is better pizza in town. Good for a quick bite to eat.

Delicious pineapple pizza, great flavor even though pineapple came from a can. Generous with cheese. Best crust in the area, and that’s saying something! As another reviewer said, not too thick, not too thin, with a bit of crunch at the edges. Friendly service too.

this place should be on Diners, Drive Inns and Dives. Zero ambiance. but amazing, amazing food. and the prices, incredible. The value for your money is the best of any Italian place in a 10 mile radius. Even the bread comes to the table hot and right out of the oven. Chicken parm sub for under $ 5.00. unheard of in central jersey. Stuffed shells with salad and bread, under $ 10.00. If you want good food and good prices and don’t care about fancy, this is your place.

Ooofa! The pizza place time forgot. The interior reminded me of a finished basement from a 70’s row home. I had a salt lick with cheese which they called a chicken steak sandwich. Not good at all. I tried my kids pizza and am regretting it still. Will not repeat.

1) LOVE the pizza! Very good. Prior to moving to NJ a few months ago, I lived in NYC for 6 years and have had a lot of amazing pizza. I like their chicken cesar slice and sausage slice. 2) The service was GREAT! One both occasions I have gone, they were attending to several customers but the food came in a very timely manner. 3) The seating and standing room while you wait, is limited but it’s worth going.

I ate here for lunch since I had to run some errands in the area. I ordered a slice of broccoli and tomato pizza. It came out promptly and was pretty good and filling. Not super greasy or gross. Delish! They also have whole wheat pizza pies, if you prefer whole wheat! Though I went during a late lunch hour, the pizzeria wasn’t too crowded. If you’re craving good pizza or other Italian dishes, you can definitely eat here and enjoy yourself.

Thank you Unilocalers for reviewing this place and for the recommendation! This is definitely outstanding pizza, very tasty, very authentic, and a must-have while in the neighborhood! I’m not from«The City,» but I’ve been there and I know what the pizza is supposed to look/taste like. D & T hits the mark perfectly. I went there for lunch on a Tuesday after 1:00pm, so the place wasn’t as crowded. Since I’d never tried it before, and since I didn’t know if I was going to be in the area again, I wanted to try a few things. I had one slice(regular cheese), four garlic knots, and a stromboli. Let’s start with the slice. The pizza is what you would expect from NYC, even though you’re in middle-north NJ. The pies are fairly big(not as huge as some places maybe), and the cheese coverage is ample. The sauce is noteworthy for it’s flavors, nothing that sticks out or is out of place, and very solid all around(more on this later). The crust was great, not too bulky, not too thin, and has a great flavor that is complementary without being overwhelming. The garlic knots were very delicious. Each one is only a quarter, so you can get four for a buck! They are topped with a perfect amount of olive oil, parmesean cheese(I think), and a bit of garlic(although in what form, I cannot be certain). They weren’t stale-tasting or overly dry, nor were they too doughy or undercooked. They were just right! Each one seemed a bit bigger up close, too, so it really was quite the value for the price. Try one at least; they were worth it!(Then again, everything was worth it). Lastly, I had the stromboli, but this was just too much; I couldn’t finish it with the other food I’d already ordered. But it was quite tasty! The waitress brought me out a smaller side of sauce for the garlic knots, but the ‘boli came with a larger side of sauce as well. I think this was the same as used on the pizza. Really good! You can pick up notes of basil, garlic, and other individual flavors, but definitely as parts of a whole, not with any one note dominating(save tomato, of course, but it highlights the other players very well). The ‘boli itself had ham, salami, sausage, a lot of cheese(mozz) and green peppers. The dough was thinner on top, so it had a nice crunch to it. Overall, a very solid dish, a great treat for late-night eating later on, and definitely worth getting again! Overall, this was a great find in the middle of a strip mall, kind of tucked away on the side, but definitely worth the hunt. If you like NY-style pizza and all the trimmings that go with it, you have to check out D & T! A couple of quick tips, too… * They take credit card, but do not accept tips on them; this might be commonplace for the area, but I was not aware of it. Not a huge problem, but thought you might want to know. * They do not have alcohol there, but I believe it is a BYOB place. * I’m pretty sure they don’t deliver, but you might want to double-check first, just in case. Maybe that will change someday, too.(I’d definitely lobby for it, if I lived in the area)! Great pizza, great pizza-joint food, great folks behind the counter and working the floor, great value, great place! I definitely recommend it!(UPDATE: I was still in the area when I wrote this, got hungry for lunch because of it, and went back already. Had the sausage & peppers roll and just like the stromboli I couldn’t finish it… so good, though!)
