La Villa Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

Food was absolutely terrible. The staff is totally unsanitary; they handled my pizza after touching money and cleaning the tables with a dirty rag. The buffalo wings I ordered were absolutely horrid. It resembles something of my pet dogs dried feces. It was inedibly, dry as rock, bland, and disgusting. The garlic bread was so salty that I almost threw up; it could surely give some people health problems. The baked chicken was worse than Tyson’s frozen chicken that I could buy at Costco. The only thing that I could consume was a measly cheese pizza that was mushy and wet.
I hate not finishing and wasting food but this was the only exception. I simply couldn’t swallow the burnt, sandpaper buffalo wings. Forcing myself to eat this food would be considered self harm.
If I could, I would give this restaurant 0 stars. Save your money, it would be better to just buy a $ 1hot dog at wawa which is a few stores down.
P. S. The fries were terrible as well. I don’t even know if there was potato in them?

They used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the last three times the food has just been horrible. We figured it’s pretty hard to screw up lasagna but we were sorely mistaken. The chicken is super thin and for The price the portions are small. The pizza is by far the best they have.

I’ve been coming here every Friday and getting their seafood pizza, simply fantastic! First time I had it, I had to go back a few hours later to get the same pizza for my wife, she loved it as well. Crust was just right and the seafood cooked to perfection.
Best pizza in the area hands down. Though the place isn’t that inviting is my only complaint.

Their food has gotten better. Pizza is still their best option. Updated from 1 star to 3. I sill prefer antonio’s but this one is less crowded at lunch so sometimes I’ll go there instead.

Calamari and bread were the only highlights of our meal. Came with friends for NYE dinner. All our meals were terrible. The red sauce was bland and flavorless; undercooked rice; and the ingredients didn’t taste fresh at all. Also, Mexican music was playing in an Italian restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all!

Worst place to eat in NJ, had a horrible meal, the taste of the food was bland and looked reheated. I should have known since we were the only table in the place on a friday night. On top of that my mother choked on a steak that was well done (she asked for medium) and then I had to argue you with the owner to take it off the bill. You would think they would have some sort of common decency and that this wouldn’t be a question, especially if you had someone almost die in your restaurant. They kept asking her if she wanted the steak wrapped up, even though she choked on it. I had another $ 25 gift card that I got for La Villa, I left it on the table since I will never go back. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else, but La Villa.

The calamari was good. But service could be better. Also, some of the food was not cooked to my liking. The items in red sauce seem to be the way to go at this place.
The place has potential, but the inconsistency with food and service is a huge problem. They have all the normal beverages. It is BYOB but they have some wines you can order by the glass.
With some improvements, this place could be great.

Went here back in March with my mom and gramdma. It was the last day of spring break and I had classes the next day. Thanks to La Villa, I never made it to class since I was too busy vomiting every 3 hours from late Sunday night into Monday morning. I’m convinced that the food here made me sick since all I ate that day was gnocchi and soup from this restaurant. I don’t know if this is a one time thing or not but I definitely will never go back.

La Villa Italian Restaurant is one of the most inconsistent restaurants I have been to and take out from the service is consistently fair, but at times it is poor to very poor. The food is good to fair. If I was able to, I would have given it 2 ½ stars

Ok so I ordered a pizza last nite from here for delivery. I have to say it wasn’t bad my son even liked it n he’s just as picky as me when it comes to pizza. Good to have a back up plan when I can’t get to my fave place and they deliver quickly, bonus. Crust could’ve been crisper but not bad at all toppings were even good. Peppers were roasted n not thrown on raw which alot of places do and onions were perfect so we’re the fresh mushrooms. So I’m raising a star but we did order mussels and alot of them were closed and they didn’t give us many so that’s not a good thing. So next time I will be cautious on that. I will review again when I order from there in due time. I still haven’t tried dinners and don’t know if I will but hit sandwiches and cheese steaks are in my list.

Tried it again. Nah. Did not get better. I had a Italian sub. The cold cuts were cheaper brand. The lettuce, tomato was fresh. The staff seemed a little «thug» for me.
Tried it again… my mistake.

Just ok. We will not be returning since there are many other better places in the area.
The bread we received was good so I had high hopes for the rest of the meal.
The menu is very limited and they only had one server and one bus boy so service was slow. However, the two people who were working did the best they could to serve many tables at once.
The pasta fagoli was bad, no taste, mushy. We didn’t eat more then a bite.
The rigatoni vodka was just ok, nothing special. The price of $ 16 would have been acceptable for a nice restaurant and better quality food, but this place doesn’t fit that description.

It was a Friday, I get they can be packed. But 2.5 hours for an extra large plain pie.
And it came cold.
Come on son.

Update: One more reason to avoid this place. I just got a message from the owner, Mario C:
«I have one word for you. CHEAP…spend same money on new years eve. .have nice dinner and enjoy the food w your gf… u r to cheap for that… and if u do a review tell the truth. .I was very nice but u can stop cry about the restaurant. Com… and if u want talk face to face u know were u can find me…»
Threatening and insulting customers on Unilocal messages instead of trying to learn from your mistakes may be a reason your restaurant isn’t doing well. Taking your frustrations out on me is probably a misdirection of your energy.

I hadn’t been in about a year and decided to meet a couple of colleagues prior to visiting a customer.
The first thing we noticed was the music. This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant but what do they have playing in the background? Mexican music. But not just any Mexican music, Mexican rap music. Nothing screams Bella Italia like some jabroni gangsta rapping in Spanish.
The next was the tables. The had nice, white linen tablecloths but they were covered with sticky white plastic which glommed onto your forearms like a glue board.
Sadly, the food was not much better. My Caesar salad came with both pre-​made croutons and dressing. The pasta e fagiloi was flavorless, even after the addition of cheese, black pepper, red pepper and salt.
Not sure what happened but I would not dine here again.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars for the rude people there. TWO THUMBS DOWN. I called to order 2 plain pies for my office and asked for them to deliver about an hour later… they were almost 30 minutes late and the delivery guy was rude. He pretended to search for change so I just told him to keep it my $ 5. Before he showed up I called when he was 10 minutes late and some guy got on the phone yelling saying I never told them where the office is… but I gave the guy who took my order detailed directions 2x. It’s not my fault he doesn’t understand ENGLISH! BTW… It was plain, ordinary, overpriced cheese pizza… not worth recommending to anyone. Oh! I also asked for plates but I suppose they couldn’t find my office! They will never get another order from my office ever again. 1^st time and definitely the last! At least the food didn’t suck as much as the service.

Not only was the food tasteless, the waiter said he would send the manager to our table. He never came! We paid the bill, left a 20% tip — it wasn’t the servers fault the manager never showed. On the way out, the manager stopped us to ask if we liked the «free» dessert. I said we were on diets and didn’t want the dessert. I told him our meals were tasteless and we would have appreciated different entrees. He started screaming at us (two women) and followed us to my car screaming F you to us. He was leaning on my car and when I told him I was calling the police, he ran back into the restaurant still screaming profanities!!!
NEVER AGAIN WILL WE EAT THERE!!!

So I went here due to a
certificate, quick friendly service, never ending supply if delicious fresh cooked rolls, I had way too many and enjoyed every one of them! Next came Pasta Fagioli, tasted ok, pretty sure it came out of a can, chicken marsala was bland, chicken Francese was bland, marinara sauce was tasty, but over seasoned, too salty. I will not be returning for another meal.

Came on to write a review that my sub was (no pun intended) sub par because of the bread and saw that another recent reviewer agrees. I went a little out of my way to give this place a try, but have no reason to go back.

Crostini was delicious. Chicken parm was very good. Chicken half moon was ok. The mushroom Demi glaze was watery. The tomato sauce was very tasty and pasta was perfect al dente. The tiramisu tasted old or like it sat uncovered in the fridge. Not real mascarpone. It tasted like buttercream. All the help was very attentive. BYOB was a plus.
