Great food! I was very impressed by this whole in the wall taqueria. I had fish tacos, rice, and beans. All delicious. Amazing salsas!

NASTY! Unless you like Mexican cafeteria food. It is NOT authentic Mexican food. Wasted $ 25 on chille relleno, tosada, and nachos.

Went in for the first time with my girl She got a carnitas burrito And I got a torta al pastor Both were pretty good They needed a bit more seasoning but price east to bad and it is close to the house so no need to venture far Salsas were very tasty Will probably come whenever I have a craving for Mexican food and don’t want to drive far

Went last night ordered a couple wet burritos. Chile Verde and pastor. Cost over $ 19. Both were ok but for 19 dollars it should be great. The salsa bar was the best part of our dinner. Love the guacamole and all there salsas. I don’t think I’ll be eating here again there’s too many better options for alot cheaper. If I come back I will get the chicken burrito. Way better tasting then the other meats.

I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. Living in Modesto which is filled with great Mexican spots, I was ready to try something new. When I arrived, around 4:00pm, there was only 3 other people in the restaurant. I ordered a veggie burrito without cheese or sourcream(Veganish). The burrito came out in like 5 minutes. When I went in to take a bite of the burrito, I was pleasantly surprised. Veggie burritos usually come with just beans, rice, some iceburg lettuce and some weak pico de gallo. Surprisingly, This burrito came with grilled veggies(bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and zucchini). It was awesome! The burrito was a good 10 inches long and 6 inches in diameter. I was satisfied. Customer service was top notch and their salsa bar had great options. This spot will be a Modesto Regular for sure.

I am a first timer here and I must admit this taqueria is a diamond in the rough, a pearl out of a thousand oysters. I am so pleased I found it on Unilocal. The food is so fresh and tastes authentic. I ordered a torta with al pastor and they cooked it up fresh. I asked to add a shmear of beans and it was not a problem. As I was eating and savoring every bite I noticed a cheese skirt all around the toasted bread. Now I’ve had a cheese skirt on burgers but never on a torta. Who does that? It was spectacular! Also ordered was a chile verde wet burrito that tastes super fresh and had no hints of being from a can whatsoever. Fresh and definitely homemade with love. Last, we shared an order of taquitos. Usually restaurants have them pre-made with cheap meat like chicken or shredded beef. Not here. I asked for al pastor and they made each one fresh right in front of me. Those tasted bomb! Beans were great and the rice was so flavorful. It had mucho garlic in it just how I love rice. I would definitely return; in fact I would make a trip of about 50 miles one way just to eat here again. It’s just that good! What a great find.

Coming into eating here, I had high expectations from family who hyped it up. The food and service was slightly above average but the price we paid for it was disappointing. My girlfriend ordered the regular nachos and it was mainly chips and small amounts of guacamole and sour cream. My super burrito was flavorful but not mixed well. There are definitely better taquerias in town but the overall experience was quite average.

I can always count on a correct order, polite service, amazing food and enough to fill to fill you up and more. Love the enchiladas, the tacos and wet burritos. Salsa bar is amazing.

Not a fan. Went twice to this place to make sure my review was fair. First time I got a Carne asada burrito and my meat was dry, had to add a good amount of salsa to make it edible. Second time I went I got the enchilada plate and again I was let down. The red sauce was nasty & more hard tortilla than chicken. The only reason I didn’t give it one star for this over priced place is because of the nice salsa bar and fast service. Won’t eat here again.

we have gone here for years but more out of hunger while shopping than anything. being and coming from a large Mexican family this place is sooo below avg it isn’t even funny. This last time Nov 14,2015 we noticed that they now CHARGE .75CENTSTOUSEYOURDEBTCARD !!! This place is more for college kids and non Hispanics who don’t know any better. we will NEVER come here again… you would be better off at taco bell, at least there you know to keep your expectations low. this place is a damn shame and disappointment.

Really great food. Everyone was happy with their orders. I had a super carne asada and shrimp burrito.(No lettuce or pico de gallo). The steak was seasoned well, fresh shrimp, creamy fresh beans, fluffy rice, food cheese and crema. My mom had a carnitas burrito and the meat was very flavorful. My dad has fish tacos which were very fresh. Gilled fish on a corn tortilla with cilantro, onions and sauce. The salsa bar was very good and fresh sitting on ice. Many different types of sauce, all tasty. The owners and/or managers at this restaurant care and you can tell. The restaurant was very clean. The staff was really professional and the décor was nice. Most important, the food was very good.

This place is a little hidden gem for vegetarians/vegans. The price typically ranges 4 – 6 dollars for a good sized burrito. Definitely worth giving it a try!

If I wanted a taco salad with cold, soggy, nasty tortilla bowl, this would have been awesome. Unfortunately I wanted to eat at least some of the tortilla and couldn’t. It was that nasty. Usually like this place. Not today. So everyone has an off day. My last lunch was really good.

We love this place! The owners are so nice, they catered our wedding and gave us so much extra food. All the guests at my wedding loved the food as well. Fajitas and nachos are my favorite, hands down the best place to eat in Modesto.

I was visiting from out of town and was craving mexican food. This place had good reviews and was really close to me. Their foods are authentic and very tasty the salsa bar is also very well kept. Food takes kinda long to come out. I want to come back and try the mocajete!

Love this place. Nachos, Tortas, burritos are so delicious. Salsa bar is fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend and will be back often! Try the grilled chicken you won’t regret it! Staff is amazing and restaurant is clean and open. Can sometimes be busy, but it’s so worth it.

I should have learned my lesson the first time I went in there and they gave me my chicken salad with raw chicken a couple of years ago. Today I ordered some flautas and my chicken was burned snd it had big chunks of tomatoes in it and I don’t know what it was but it looked like some sort of plastic in it and my rice was burned. Never again.

They raised their prices. The food’s ok. Service is m’eh? $ 7 for a super burrito? Not worth it IMHO. Off to Viva Taqueria.

I always say that you can tell how good a Mexican restaurant or taqueria is by how many Latinos work and eat there. There are plenty here. Business is also very steady and most tables taken, another positive sign of good food within. I have was working closer by so I decided to stop in for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. I got a couple grilled chicken tacos for $ 2.25 each, which is a decent price. They were well filled with flavorful meat, great tasting salsa, onions, and cilantro. Their chips are made here and they have one of the best salsa bars I’ve seen in a very long time. In fact, they had 8 different options in their salsa bar. They offer the standard Pepsi products but also have fresh brewed iced tea, another bonus for us folks who enjoy drinking tea. Next time I’m in town I plan on coming back to this place. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out.
