I have eaten here many times and the food is always great! Good lunch special prices, and standard prices for an Italian restaurant at dinner time. Good wine selection, and the lobster bisque is super yummy!

Raspberry Italian soda is fire. For not being run by Italians they still make great food.

Eh, everything on the menu looks great and for the prices($ 16+) you would expect great but the flavors are mediocre. The service was better than average and although the place was dated, it was clean and comfortable. One thing I can’t stand though, is deception. We had a mediocre experience at the Manteca location but when we saw free kids meals on Sunday, we figured we would give it another try. Unfortunately, this deal only applies if you mention the discount when ordering– it’s an every Sunday(after 4) deal but you have to say that you want the kids meal free when you’re order… But you don’t know this unless you… See this review maybe, or perhaps you were ripped off before and still decided to return for their mediocre food… I didn’t see that«fine print» written anywhere. This is just really upsetting. It’s not worth fighting them for $ 5 but I can guarantee there isn’t a promotion out there that will get us back in there. For the same prices and WAY better food(not to mention ambiance), I’ll be sticking with Bella Italia… Yummmmmmm!

I ordered baked lasagna delicious lasagna baked inside of a flakey pastry. Very good I would have added more cheese to it personally. Unfortunately our service was not very good. Seated slow. No drinks for 10 minutes. Our bread came and drinks didn’t. The waitress left all used plates on table so we had to scoot everything around to make room. I thought it was a little ridiculous for a Monday night.

Wow !!! What happened to the food in this place. It used to be decent. Today was plain awful… Ordered shrimp scampi. Shrimp came out raw and no flavor at all. Straight out from freezer to plate Disgusting. Server was told and was cool at took it off check. Can’t complain about that. My girlfriends plate came out and again shrimp was raw. Must been a bad day for cook or they just can’t cook frozen shrimp at all. Again server was told came back and comp us food. The bottom line the food was awful!

Went with my parents and they really enjoyed it, as did I. The service was great and all of our choices for meals were all very good. The salad is my favorite and the bread is addicting. Their soup was very good as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are great at giving suggestions because there are so many choices on the menu.

Meeeh… I used to go to one in the Bay Area years ago and I remember it being a lot better. To put it simply, my appetizer and meal both reminded me of hospital food, very bland. The shrimp scampi lacked flavor(shrimp were cooked perfect though) as did the chicken piccata. A very thin piece of breast and like 5 capers. I think I’ll choose a different Italian place next time.

So I’m currently in trying my hardest to go vegan. But being an animal products eater my whole life, that doesn’t come so simple. Anyway when I took a look at the menu, one item jumped out at me, the zucchini noodle veggie pasta. It was PERFECT. The sauce was the best tomato pasta sauce I had ever had on any spaghetti. It was just how I had imagined it would be. Idk why but most spaghetti sauces(to me) taste watered down or ‘light’ on the tomato if you will, but not this one. It was so delicious. They also have a great all you can eat pasta deal on Wednesdays that I recommend as well for 8.99. Served with your choice of soup or salad. If you like Italian food I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a chance!

I’ve been here a few times & the food always seems to be just ok. I’ve had the ravioli & the sauce was good, but nothing to write home to. I’ve also had the chicken piccatta, and it was a little too«lemony.» I wish they played more with seasonings & flavors. Like the bread, it’s kind of plain, with cheese on top. I want more flavor!

The service is great but unfortunately that was about it. The balsamic pork dish was awful it was a couple of saw dust chops cooked in balsamic vinegar, the glue potatoes… well I could’ve done better and the green beans which were supposedly cooked were cold and tasted unwashed. They had the nerve to have us pay for the salad(which is usually free) because we didn’t want to pay for the pork dish. and my little brother got the«chicken tenders» from the kids menu. It came with fries but frankly they look like Tyson nuggets I could’ve bought at the store… soooo not Tenders. So unless the cooking changes I’m not coming back here. They’re only savior is the fact that they didn’t hand make the raviolis and the servers are nice. Somebody call Chef Ramsey please!

Impressive. Their bread is amazing, especially with their soup selection. Seafood bisque was phenomenal. Started off with stuffed mushrooms(tastefully done, one of the better examples of stuffed mushrooms I’ve seen). My main dish was Calamari Fillet and Shrimp. Last but not least, we had a half order of brownie lasagna, I’m usually not a fan of raspberry sauce but this combo was awesome! Service was also excellent.

String’s was a surprising place, I had no idea there was a little Italian restaurant in that building this whole time. It’s kind of a cool little place, probably not a great place to go on a date because there seemed to be a lot of children. The service at strings was exceptional, very good looking hostess and waitress who were very polite and had great smiles on their faces. Service was prompt and before I knew it I had food in front of my face. Their seafood bisque soup was pretty good, nothing amazing and they actually had very good bread to start off, I was almost full before I even had gotten to my meal. I ordered the shrimp and calamari, this is where my experience went down hill, the pasta and sauce on the side was extremely bland, I’m surprised to see such a little laid back Italian place that seemed like they used cheap Alfredo sauce from a can, that is a huge mistake. If your sauce is homemade then I have no idea what the hell you are doing to where it has NO flavor. Second the fried calamari steak was not properly fried, it seems like they didn’t fry it an optimal temperature because it was soggy and had a greasy taste to it, the shrimp on the calamari steak was absolutely delicious, probably some of the best shrimp I ever tasted. There was a bit of sauce that was on the calamari steak and shrimp that was phenomenal, it made eating the calamari steak tolerable, I couldn’t quite put my finger on what that sauce is made of but if you cooked your fried calamari properly and made good Alfredo sauce then the dinner would have been to die for. Their Italian soda was really delicious as they actually put cream in it(some places try and cheap out on that) I don’t know if I’ll be back, the price of the food didn’t match up with the quality of it, if you guys can step up your food game and keep the service as it is then you couldn’t keep me away.

Just got back from our first time at this Strings… The server seemed sweet and was very attentive, but… 1. There were raisins in the salad, which was very strange. Isn’t it supposed to be dried cranberries, candied walnut or pecans, and crumbly cheese with a special dressing? Not here. Just got TONS of raw onions and no dressing at all, and horrible dry, tasteless croutons. So this Italian Restaurant has no Italian or Thousand Island Dressing?(To be fair, the no salad dressing could have been a mix up due to the fact that I said I can’t eat Alfredo sauce. That’s because it’s made with warm milk. I CAN do most milk products, but didn’t explain that.) 2. It seemed like everything either had beef or pork or Alfredo or Marinara. So I had the Vegetable Plate(which costs $ 13 and comes with NO Pasta). The Pasta was another + $ 4.00! It didn’t taste bad. It just didn’t taste good. There was TONS of oil, but I did NOT taste any butter or lemon or herbs or anything else that could have made it great. I DID, however, get to have them replace bell peppers with artichoke hearts. If I couldn’t have done that, I would not have had it at all. 3. The total bill for my vegetable plate, my friend’s lasagna, and a spaghetti to go was $ 57.00, and we did NOT get an appetizer! Let me repeat that… FIFTYSEVENDOLLARSPLUSTIPFORTHREEITEMSWITHNOAPPETIZERORDESERTORALCOHOL!!! That really seems high for the level of ambience that you see all around you, and the lack of any good flavor from the kitchen. I can just see ROBERTIRVINE ripping out the totally fake old plastic ivy, and literally spitting out some of the bland, tasteless food.

My mom was visiting from Vegas and wanted Italian food so we tried strings. The wine selection is OK and the food portions were good. Quality of food was great, lots of mushrooms and I love the use of bacon in many of the dishes. My kids loved the Italian soda and the bread. Service was amazing! I’d like to go back but I’ll be sure it’s when the live music is there, otherwise, it’s a bit too quite for me.

We celebrated my Dad’s birthday here on a Saturday night. I felt compelled to write a review just because the staff was so attentive and friendly. I liked the huge family style salad we started off with and everyone enjoyed their entrees. Seems like a popular place, every table was full. But the gem here was the staff, they were very patient with our picky eaters.

We went there for the first time last night. The salad and bread were delicious. We had the Italian Pizza which had a distinct and most enjoyable flavor & texture. We will definitely go back there again. The only criticism was that the service was just a bit slow. The waitress was working hard, so it seemed to be a matter of short-staffing.
