Worse excuse of a spa ever. Waited for 30 mins for them r of tell my lady they can’t massage her cause she’s pregnant. Then they tried to compensate her with a facial though we were there for a couples massage. Jerks then didn’t want to give her our paper work even though we got no services. So we’re out $ 70 and my lady is upset. F this unprofessional insensitive place. Owner wouldn’t even come out to make her feel better. Maybe if my girl wasn’t a chocolate woman they would have treated her better. Beware of this joke.

This was an awful experience. I went in for a couples massage with my guy. We had a groupon deal and we figured we’d try a small town spa. So we waited in the lobby after paper work for 20 mins to be told that they wouldn’t massage me at 3mnths. But i could have a facial instead. Are you seious?! It took them 20 mins to tell us this. Then they refuse to give a refund. I was upset at the fact that they’re pregnant lady rules should not only be posted on they’re Web page but groupon as well! After they refused to refund our money, they refused to give us back the paperwork with our info! It wasn’t until my guy told them we weren’t going anyway did the manager go ask the owner to give our paperwork up. So in the end the owner never tried to compensate us or come talk to us. She stayed in the back. I feel I was discriminated against because we are a swirl couple. This establishment ought to be ashamed stressing a pregnant woman to tears.

I learned about Serenity from a Groupon ad. It was a last minute thought, and I called and inquired about their availability. They happened to have an appointment in the afternoon for a shellac mani/regular pedi. I told them I saw the Groupon ad. They asked for my credit card to hold the service, which I wasn’t in a position to give so I actually called back to make sure they got my credit card info and held the appointment. I thought this was odd, but not a problem. When I arrived I showed the girl at the front desk my Groupon voucher from my phone. However, I received a credit card charge from Serenity after all. The same price as the Groupon, $ 40. And the Groupon didn’t show as being redeemed. So I immediately called Serenity, the girl who answered the phone transferred me to someone else. I told her what happened, and how my Groupon wasn’t redeemed and that I thought they just made a mistake. She denied it was their mistake, she said that I paid in full for my service when I called. I told her if I had realized that they were charging my card at that time, I obviously would have stopped the process! Why would I have purchased a Groupon if I wasn’t going to use it? She proceeded to dispute with me and said I would have to call Groupon to get a refund. I said no, and that I expected them to issue the refund. She wouldn’t and said she’d have to get back to me, which she never did. Very poor customer service skills. However, Groupon thankfully refunded me in full and I made a full report to them about what happened. It’s a shame that some businesses use the advertising benefits of Groupon and then try to not honor their deal so they don’t have to give their money to Groupon. It’s dishonest and will build a negative reputation for the business. I’ve worked in the spa industry for 15 years and would never treat a customer that way. Definitely wouldn’t go back.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for a very long time therefore, I tend to critique more harshly than most when it comes to any service I receive. That being said, my experience at Serenity was exceptional! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and does great work. I will absolutely be returning!

Ok I have received microdermabrasions at this spa and they are wonderful!!! But the only problem I have is with the employees and the wait time. Firstly you have to make an appointment for any type of treatment and every time I get there they are never ready for me. I have to be seated for more than 15 minutes after my appointment time just to wait to get into a room. My facial is supposed to be an hour and they always find a way to rip me off by making me sit somewhere forever. What’s the point of having appointments if you aren’t ready for me. this is ridiculous. You can’t keep me waiting for 20 minutes if I have an appointment. Secondly the employees are friendly but they always seem to be bickering with each other and it is kinda distracting. Also I have had a different lady do each of my facials each time and I haven’t gotten to one that I like yet except for Marcela. She is very professional and friendly but the chances you’ll end up with a good lady is slim to none. Also while you are having ur facial all they do is talk your ear off! I am trying to relax and you can’t seem to stop talking. Thirdly during your treatment the ladies are always trying to get you to buy something from their shop. I understand them giving advice but please stop«reminding» me to buy something. Frustrating.

To celebrate my first EVER weekend in the Big Mod, I decided that I wanted to treat myself to a massage. I found Serenity through Groupon and purchased the couples massage for Princess Leia and I as it came highly recommended. Scheduling and confirming my massage was very easy — the girls I spoke to were all polite and able to accommodate me quickly and easily. My massage was scheduled for 10:30AM, of which I arrived at approximately 10:20AM to fill out paperwork. When 10:30 rolled around, no one came to escort me to the back, nor did anyone collect my paperwork. I was under the impression that this was to be an HOUR long massage, so I went to the ladies at the front desk and gave them the paperwork. STILL, no one came out until closer to 10:35. FINALLY, the massage therapist(I never got her name, and now looking back, that was probably a GOOD thing) reviewed my preferences with me for approximately 30 seconds and left me to change for the remaining four minutes. I have no QUALMS with a fifty minute massage, but I WISH someone had made that CLEAR on the Groupon. Firstly, my massage therapist started by asking me to lay on my back and proceeded to «massage» my neck. Immediately I felt a lot of pain, not necessarily from the pressure of my massage, but rather from the awkward jabbing technique she executed with the tips of her fingers on different areas of my neck. Had she used a slightly less jarring technique, this MIGHT have felt good — moreover, my therapist was very rough and clumsy when turning my neck from side to side. This is a VERY sensitive part of the human body, and I’m simply glad I didn’t suffer from neck trauma after this portion of the massage. Next, my massage therapist proceeded to massage my arms. I was relieved at this point to have moved on from my NECK. HOWEVER, I can not say I particularly enjoyed this portion of the massage either. The only way I can think to describe the way it felt is this — IMAGINE, IFYOUWILL, a small child nagging at you for attention, clinging onto your arm, and not letting go for approximately five minutes ONEACHARM. Again, I felt as though this was due to a lack of technique on the part of my therapist — instead of massaging my muscles, I felt as though she was simply shifting my ARMSKIN in opposite directions using her fingers, which often resulted in general ANNOYANCE on my part, as well as a lot of UNNECESSARY pinching. THEN, my therapist moved onto my legs. She did a better job at my legs. I actually found moments of solace to recover from my sharp neck pains and arm pinches. My only complaints on the legs/feet portion of the massage are 1) my therapist spent MUCH too long on this area — I had asked her to focus on my back/shoulders, and 2) instead of using swift, continuous motions when massaging with BOTH hands, she used CHOPPY motions, leaving a noticeable gap between putting one hand down after the other. I would not usually berate a person for slow movements but as massage is my therapist’s LIVELIHOOD, I feel as though it’s necessary to mention this. ADDITIONALLY, at one point, the side of my therapist’s NAIL got caught in my leg — leaving a SCRATCH down the CALF of my leg. FINALLY, my therapist spent the last ten minutes or so on my back — of which by this point, I was NOT in a good mood, and EAGER for the massage to be OVER. Again, my therapist followed much of the same awkward patting/jabbing technique all over my back(two days later, I have a NOTICEABLE jabbing pain under my right shoulder blade). ADDITIONALLY, to add injury to insult, SHEJIGGLEDME for good measure! I have no idea why she did this NOR do I understand what this was supposed to accomplish. I just knew I felt UNCOMFORTABLE that my back fat was being JIGGLED and INSECURE(on top of it all) that I had ENOUGH back fat FOR her to jiggle at such a rapid pace. OMGKILLME. UGH, perhaps I should only give this location one star, but I KNOW my therapist tried her best to accommodate my requests throughout the massage. I’m thankful that at the very least, she was patient and WILLING to apply less pressure, etc when I asked. Perhaps, I’m simply disappointed because up until now, I have only had excellent massages. For my therapist, it wasn’t *necessarily* that she did anything wrong, it just didn’t feel GOOD when she applied it onto my body. I finally understand why people say SOME therapists just HAVE good hands, while others don’t — unfortunately, I can’t say that my therapist does.

Went to get a pedicure. I was given several pages to read and sign or initial… related to facial procedures. Oh well. I just noted«N/A» on those. As far as the actual pedicure, Yasmin did a great job. She was very patient and careful. I enjoyed the massage chair and the background music was nice. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
