Although i love most mac products the service here can be better. I have been here a few times and the girls aren’t very friendly or helpful. If you need assistance there is a mac inside the mall downstairs. I would only recommend buying something at the mac inside macys if you already know what it is you want.

Worse customer service ever! The store downstairs. I went in on the intent to buy a few things. The girl with green and black ombré hair and this blond girl with a pony tail, need to be trained on customer service. First of all I wasn’t even greeted there was no other customers in the store., went in looking for the new riri lipglass, I asked for the tester but she said they didn’t have the tester because they were sold out. she went back to the cash rap to gossip with the other girl… So unprofessional !, didn’t even ask if I needed anything else or suggest any other color, I seen one that would have worked for what needed but didn’t bother because the lack of service. I rather drive the hr and half to Sacramento and go to Mac Arden to shop there or only if Hallie is there. I also wanted to see the new match master concealers and I was trying to locate them so I decided to asked and try one more time… I felt like I was interupying there social hr. and she just pointed over to the table and said they are under the foundation… Again they lack customer service.

I went I to the store and Every time I go in i get ignored! I went and I needed help to get a color, I was standing for a good while, they seen me standing and did not bother to approach me. But were able to talk to one another for a while. I thought that was ridiculous if u ask me so I just dropped everything down and left.

Great makeup but poor customer service. Too busy talking to one another than helping the customer.

Get your brows done by Elise, I live in Berkeley and I make the drive to Modesto just to have her do my brows– she’s that good. She takes her time, is super detailed, and is pleasant to talk to as well. I’ve recommended my girlfriends to her and now half of them get their brows done my Elise too! Ask her to try some new products on you, or to put on some cover up after the wax. You’ll leave looking beautiful!

Brittany does my eyebrows here and has always done a really good job. She has a very good eye for detail, which is why they always look super fabulous. I always get them tinted too which is something new. Highly recommend coming here!
P. S. They generally are always booked so call in advance to schedule an appointment. It’s very rare that I’ve walked in and have been able to be seen right then.

I didn’t get the man’s name who helped me, but he was very pleasent, and made my experience quick and easy. I bought a lipstick and an eyeshadow. They were out of the eyeshadow, but he was able to find me one that was similar. He also was kind and courteous, I was in a better mood after leaving.

Usually I love benefit, but their eyebrow ladies have been horrible! Don’t go to Brittany, she burnt me & double booked and refused to do me after because she wanted to go home! Rude service but good products

It all depends on who works there. The makeup is good but the containers always looks cheap to me and it is always breaking apart! THREE STARS.

Within the last month (make up binge) I’ve been to this particular MAC store twice and both experiences were fabulous! On my first trip, I was helped by a gal and pointed me in the direction of a good eyebrow self-​propelling pen. She found one that best matched me and I’ve fallen in love with it! I asked her about the ‘setting sprays’ and she recommended the Mineralize Charged Water. I love it! On my most recent trip… I splurged. Recently I’ve been using NARS and Bare Minerals as my main foundation but wanted to go back to using my favorite. MAC Studio Fix. The super helpful and friendly guy matched me with my exact color and also made some recommendations. I ended up with a foundation powder, liquid foundation, Fix+ Aqua Spritz and eyeshadow in Melon (love that color!). I left a VERY satisfied customer =)

LOVE ALL THESE LADIES! not only do they do great makeup but they are very informative! half of them have been with the company for years and are very helpful! Elisa, hannah, hallie, amanda, nina, daniella and aniase are who i recommend if you are going to get your makeup done there! some of the girs have moved to the new location downtairs though!

Brittany always does my eyebrows and I always get awesome compliments on them. I would not go to any other place!

I had my brows waxed and cleaned up at the brow bar today and boy was I impressed! Not only did Oliva clean up & shape my brows but she also reapplied my make up (using the Benefit brand of course) so I was able to try out some new cosmetics too. I was also impressed that she trimmed my brows, that was a first for me and I’ve been to a few high and low end salons for brow waxes.
The best part was the soothing lotions that were applied before the wax, it truly did prevent redness and swelling from the procedure. I was able to continue browsing that mall without people wondering if I was stung by a bee or something (you know what I’m talking about, ladies).
It was a little more on the expensive side, compared to what I’ve paid for brow waxes in the past, but it was worth it. I was unaware that tips were cash only, I couldn’t put an overage on my card for Oliva. So next time you go bring some cash for a tip.

I came to buy some makeup for my daughter (Christmas present not for me). A gal named Vanessa helped me and she was super nice and helpful. Great service!!!

I have a suggestion for the MAC counter… When it’s very busy you should designate one sales person to help those who know exactly what they want and will take like 2 mintues to pay and go! I love the makeup but this is one thing that really irritates me about this counter…

Makeup junkie, product monger and beauty overdose are monikers used to describe women who love makeup and beauty products. I prefer the term beauty product connoisseur. That is how I like to think of myself. While I definitely practice brand loyalty for many products and certain makeup, I do like to experiment with other lines.
I was pleasantly surprised when Macy’s of Modesto opened up an Impulse Beauty department. While they would never say so, the premise is quite similar to Sephora. The department features many brands that are considered to be «boutique» brands and have never been carried in Macy’s stores before. Brands like Stila, Peter Thomas Roth and Bliss are now available.
I needed to pick up a brush replacement head for my Clarisonic brush, which really is a must by the way. I usually go to another store to pick up the replacements, but since I was at Macy’s anyway, I thought I would check to see if they carried them. Thankfully they did.
The only thing they didn’t have that I was looking for was a new Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Shockingly the clerk was not familiar with the line. I mean, any girl who reads Vogue knows Shu Uemura as the BEST eyelash curler ever. Fact. Oh well. No one is perfect. ;)
I will definitely be back though to pick up other beauty essentials like Philosophy shower gels and eye cream. Oh, and Bliss lotions among other things… ;)

Always get helpful service, even when they are applying makeup on other customers.
I usually go to the booth in front of Macy’s for faster service.

I love their eyeshadows, and their 2 in one compact.
Other than that, i dont like going there i just get what i want and leave.
They are always like so rude, once in a while u will get a nice one but thats hardly ever.
Ok the other day i wen there to get a compact. There was only one girl working there (on a tuesday afternoon) anyway, when i got there she had started with some girl she was doing her makeup, i only needed like 3 minutes of her time to give them compact i needed and pay. She told me to wait, i had my 2 kids (one is 2 yrs old and the other is 7 months) my son started getting all fuzzy and i told her i just need something real fast. She said please wait!
I dont understand she could of put the other girl on wait real fast take care of me, finish with me and be back to her, i seriously waited like 15 min and i asked her again finally she gave me what i needed. I just thought that she could of lost a customer for her being so rude, and she didnt even apologize for the wait.
I think i might look for another brand that i like and not deal with rude customer service, hello its my money i should be satisfied and not have to deal with rude snobs that think they are all that.

The make up artists are always very nice and helpful!
I love (could not live without) my Mac eyeshadows.
Shroom — a nice cream color for the base of my eyelids
and Espresso– a soft chocolate for the crease.
Haven’t tried anything else there because I am a Channel lover for my mascara and Clinique for my foundation and powder.

Simply said… I would die without my MAC compact in N5… I really mean that.
******FYI if you save and turn in 6 empty compacts you get a free lipstick :)
