Denny’s

So I came in really late with a few of my friends. We had Kayla as a server and she was super kind, despite having a lot on her plate, she still managed to give us awesome service.

We just had lunch here and the service was horrible. It took a while to be seated and when we were finally seated our server got our order wrong twice. On top of it all our server didn’t give us utensils; we had to ask for it. We didn’t see him at all after that; he didn’t come around to see if we needed anything.
We won’t be coming back.

In Xmas day you all were great. Our waitress was in a happy neon green shirt and santa hat. Gotta say she was sexy.Wow. but also very sweet and fast.

Is there ANY restaurant open on Christmas Day? We were heading up to the snow, probably nothing open on 108 east of Oakdale. Well, Randy Stonehill did record a song called «Christmas At Denny’s». .. its slogan is «Always Open», and I understand that some of them don’t even have locks on their doors. .. okay, brunch at Denny’s, away we go.
The Denny’s on Orangeburg, down the street from where we slept, was not deserted at 9am on Christmas morning. Actually, it was almost full. It even had an older couple, both wearing all red, and the man had a big white beard and glasses. And the wait staff was awake, Paige our waitress was even perky, and it was generally a happy place. Paige was reluctant to give us a «ho ho ho», but my girl and I serenaded each other with «Hark, The Herald Angels Sing».
I had the Grand Slamwich: scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, and potatoes between two slices of toast. Good, filling, all-​American breakfast made even better with the Cholula hot sauce :-p The hunny made her own breakfast: pancakes, sausage, and hash browns, «and it was all good.» The girl had french toast and hash browns (she wanted boiled eggs, and that was an option if she could wait 15 minutes).
Nothing really special, it’s Denny’s. Not a good date place. But if you want to eat out, just get some good dependable food into your gut without shelling out a lot of money (our hit was $ 30), then Denny’s is a good option. If you need to eat at 3am, then Denny’s may be your ONLY option.

I used to come here ALL the time… Until today! We came in and they were crowded, no problem, we will wait. So we waited… Over 25 minutes! When I approached the manager about how long it would continue to be she had the nerve to tell me she already called my name several times. But how did you call my name when I was sitting right in front of your face??? She was dignified about the situation and had no remorse or solution. She didn’t offer us a table or compensation for ANYTHING. Not once did she ever check to see who we were or if we were on the list for the seating. All she did was tell us ‘bye!’ I’m appalled at how she thinks this is acceptable service! We came here at least once or twice a month, it was the only place we went because my daughter always wants pancakes. It is now my goal to make sure this manager sees consequences for her attitude, unprofessionalism, and lack of customer service. She was already being rude to other customers while we were waiting and it’s a Sunday morning, always a busy time for breakfast restaurants, if you can’t handle the pressure, go work somewhere else! How dare her! Denny’s corporate will be hearing from me first thing tomorrow morning when they open and I don’t suggest any go back here ever again!!! The manager is their downfall and she needs to be fired!!! If I could give them a negative star I would!

Update (9÷19÷2015)
Just had dinner here. I like this Denny’s but tonight, they were off. My meal wasn’t cooked to order and it took them quite some time to check on us. I couldn’t let them know to correct it. I was asked if everything was ok and I indicated it wasn’t and it was too late to fix it. But kudos to them. They made it right by giving me a discount. You know, it’s these small gestures that go a long way. Way to go Denny’s on Orangeburg. I know I will return.

I need to write this review because the staff at this particular Denny’s is great. And I can use my AARP card (15% discount). I know Denny’s can get a bad wrap but this particular Denny’s is very good. They now have gluten-​free English Muffins (definite plus). And the food is prepared well. I appreciated our waitress today (Felicia). She was pretty awesome. And I’m sorry I can’t remember our previous waitress’ name from a few days ago (she was awesome as well.) When I come to Denny’s, I normally order breakfast, regardless of time of day. So if you haven’t been here in a while, I encourage you to do so.

I come here only for the ²⁴⁄₇ in order to study. That is the only reason why I come to Denny’s.

Outdated. Carpet is gross. Parking lot destroyed. Came in at 3 o’clock in the morning and was seated at a dirty booth. Server Rita, was notified, and situation was corrected. Ordered a breakfast plate. The cook skimped on everything, compared to other Denny’s. Probably only gave one egg instead of 2. ¾ the amount of a normal hash brown serving & paper thin pancakes. The cashier was unaware of how to give points to the restaurants club card program, so she just threw in a 15% off discount. It was acceptable I guess.

Service was great! Our server was helpful and so friendly. The restaurant was clean. Food was good. Would def come back!

I can’t believe I’m reviewing a Denny’s and giving them no less than a five star rating.
My party and I made the mistake of attempting to go for a late breakfast on Father’s Day. All of the other restaurants we tried had long wait times and no where for people to await their tables. My grandmother has trouble walking and standing in the sun for more than a half hour was out of the question. We just wandered in to Denny’s and they said that they could get us seated almost immediately. Seeing that my grandmother has trouble getting around, the manager made sure we got a booth right near the entrance. The servers, though extremely busy, never once missed an opportunity to inquire if we needed anything and kept our drinks full. The food is typical Denny’s, but it was well prepared and came out quickly.
This experience has proven to me how much of an impact good customer service can have. The professionalism and kindness the manager showed is commendable.

Worst experience ever. Came in with a group of 11 and after an hour passed we still didn’t receive our food, yet everyone else sitting around us received there food. Ended up canceling our orders and still had to pay for the swimming pool water and non fizzy sodas. Never coming here again!

Angela was our server today and we had a perfect time here today it’s crazy how a server can change the whole day and her service is By FAR THE BEST :)

This Denny’s is extremely slow and HORRIBLE customer service. There was a waitress working here and she wasn’t in a uniform. She was in normal street clothes. And then she went in the back and worked with good without a hair net !!! I work in the food business and I was very upset with how the service and cookers were. Very very disappointed with the service and people here. Completely disgusted …

This is the best Denny’s that I have ever been to. The manager Betty, is one of the most sweetest ladies that I have met in a long time. She’s an amazing woman, and she runs a super tight but seemingly happy ship. I doubt if I will ever meet another person like Betty. Thank you so much for going out of your way for someone you don’t even know.

Usually quick at seating but slow today. Empty tables and people waiting. Just not enough help. Waitress looks stressed, so does manager. Food good otherwise.

Denny’s has fantastic customer service. I like to come here in between classes to study and have a delicious breakfast. Food is always constantly good and every staff member is polite and friendly.

My family went there for dinner. Our mistake. We ordered pie, saw our waitress picking up dishes after we had been waiting for our pie. The slivers of pie were served in giant salad bowls. We ordered ½ order of nachos. It was cold, chips were chewy and served in a giant salad bowl. We also ordered 2 French Toast breakfasts. The toast was also cold despite it coming 5 minutes from the time the breakfast was served. Ask for something simple like Tabasco and you still need to wait more than five minutes for it because Denny’s is too cheap to keep such luxuries on their tables. Took forever to get refills of soda from this server. The restaurant also smelled like old dank carpet. And when you see the filthy carpet you understand why the stink. They took my receipt and when I called within 5 minutes of me leaving, surprise! They couldn’t find it.

Went to breakfast, Alex our server was excellent, accommodated all our needs, pleasant and helpful. Food was hot and delicious. Hashbrowns could have been cooked longer, but they fixed that too!

Today my family and i went to Denny’s for breakfast. After we ordered our food and patiently waited for at least 30 mins my sister went to the front counter to find out why hadn’t we received our food, and the manager with a straight face lied and said that the food was almost ready .My sister could plainly see the chef hadn’t even started our order yet! In the end we had to cancel the order. Unacceptable! if the manager had just been honest and said that the staff was behind instead of lying and keeping us waiting i would’ve understood.

I tried the Bourbon Bacon Burger and it was fantastic. Then I got a lemon pie shake to compliment it, it was excellent.
