I love this restaurant! The food is amazing, well cooked and deliciously seasoned! Food is always made fresh with nice fresh vegetables (Kung pao chicken and honey shrimp are my favorite). They’re generous with their portions at a great price. The owners are a very very sweet & hospitable couple. Definitely THE BEST Chinese spot in the area!

I’ve been to over 20 Chinese restaurants in modesto area & this is the BEST one I’ve been too so far. trust my FATTY senses, I am one picky eater .

This is the worst Chinese food I ever suffered in the past ten years since I came to US. We went there on a Saturday noon. Ordered three entrees, and cannot eat a single one. The waiter knew it is terrible taste and he did not ask anything during the whole process. Change the chef or close.

Wow! AMAZING! Went today for lunch and it was great. I had the sesame chicken and string bean chicken both were great. Chow mein is the best I have ever had. I like how the food is cooked to order nice and fresh. I don’t care if I have to wait 5 – 10 minutes for my fresh food, it is worth the wait. I feel better spending my money locally than sub par chain restaurants. Prices here are reasonable and portions are fair. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

This is by far the best and freshest Chinese food around. Kevin and his wife are great people, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is clean and every order is cooked for you, right then when you order it. I have tried just about every dish they put out and the sauces and flavors are delicious and very well done making each dish taste different. The tempura shrimp (Honey walnut shrimp minus the walnuts) are huge and cooked to perfection these things are the size of prawns! This place blows Panda away. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable and ingredients are always fresh. I say go there and eat you won’t regret it and you will be back for more! And you are helping the little guy restaurant out.

Food is extremely tasty however, it is not «Express». If you are ordering during a lunch hour like I was, it can be extremely frustrating. The cashiers accent was very difficult to decipher. Still the food is worth the wait if you have the time.

Best Datang /​Chinese food Ever! Fresh veggies and meat! Way better than Panda Ever thought of being! I love the Spicy Kungpoa Shrimp and the Datang Beef! We got lunch and plenty left over for dinner! Yum!

I’m not gonna lie I was a little hesitant to try this place just because I’m leery when it comes to Chinese food. But I was pleasantly surprised! We were greeted by a sweet smiling face. She was more than happy to go over the menu with us. Anyways I ordered the combo plate with chow mein and the spicy beef with an order of veggie spring rolls. They made our door as we ordered. Which was nice because we knew it was so fresh. As they were making our food, we were looking around and their kitchen (from what we could see) was very clean and the kind woman up front was chit chatting with us. 15 min to get our good (3 seperate orders). When we got back to the office I couldn’t wait to try it because it smelled soooo yummy. The chow mein was really good but for me the true test was the spicy beef… OMG. the beef was so tender and had a good flavor! The spring rolls were ok. What threw me off was they had clear noodles (not sure the correct name for them) in it. Overall very good lunch!

AMAZING. Honestly don’t understand how they aren’t packed. They put lots of meat into their food! I have tried their rice chowmein walnut schrimp and mushroom chicken. They all have lots of flavor, nothing is bland, even the vegetables in the food is good. I’m the type of person that picks out the vegetables from food but I was surprised to see myself eating every last bit. Its great I go twice a week after my classes

These nice people are trying to make this work. My sweet and sour pork pieces were huge and I used a steak knife to cut them into small pieces. Sweet and sour pork was average at best, very tough to chew. The chow mien was basically noodles and bland. I cannot see myself going back. There was enough for two people. Give this business a try despite my comments.

My 16 year old neighbor said she has been going to Datang as often as possible for the chowmein. The burger place we wanted to eat at was closed and I remembered that the chowmein was supposed to be good so my family of 5 decided to grab some. The prices were really inexpensive. The combo meals were cheaper than Panda Express. My husband bought the Datang beef with a side of mixed veggies. The veggies were steamed and crisp and super fresh. All of our food was served so hot we had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down. The beef was lean and cooked well with peppers etc. The sauce was really good with just enough spicy heat. My daughter ordered Pot Stickers. An order of 3 was $ 1.50. She wouldn’t share with me but she said they were really good. We bought large sodas, they are only $ 1.00 each. I got the sesame chicken with half fried rice and half chow mein. Cooked perfect, perfect crunch to the breading. Tang to the sauce. The fried rice is good with fresh carrots and peas but we all agree that there is something amazing about the chow mein. It’s simple and not full of vegetables and just tastes like comfort food! Mmmm. The woman who served us was super sweet. My husband spilled his drink and she quickly came and wiped it up and got him a refill. You can tell she likes children and gave them extra attention. The food is really good. It seems really clean. If a place looks dirty, I walk out. This place looked sterile. We just got back from eating there and I wanted to review this place right away because I want it to succeed. I live very close by and this place pleased every one in my family which is a minor miracle! Two thumbs up!

Horrible experience. I’d be surprised if this place lasts much longer. Food took 35 minutes not the 8 to 12 mins we were told. During our wait, one customer brought his food back because something was wrong and one potential customer left after waiting about 10 mins without being acknowledged. The worker appeared to be there alone. The food was gross. VERY greasy and the sweet and sour pork was so hard you could barely eat it. The chow mein was just noodles. Our egg rolls were burnt too. Will never go back. Very disappointing and waste of money.

It’s basically a to-​go place. The food was super fresh and was a huge portion. I had green bean chicken and hubby had broccoli beef. All veggies were perfectly cooked. Son had sesame chicken that was light in the sesame but nevertheless good.
We had one main dish and one side dish each, and two can definitely share that quantity.
The proprietors were very nice and helpful, and overall it was a good value and interesting experience for the price.
Plus, they were open on Monday.

The owners are very friendly, great service, everything is fresh and can order quickly. My coworker and I were very happy with the food and will be coming back when in the area.
