Overall ready loved it here, very nice place to have a good sit down dinner with friends!

This place is terrific. Went there with a fairly large party of 9 extended family members. The service was spot-​on and the food was excellent.
Get the moo-​shu.

This place is the old Acapulco Restaurant, someone called it a hidden gem, which is find kind of funny, it’s right on McHenry and It is a huge place, not very hidden at all! haha
But no I get what they’re saying not many people know this place is very beautiful inside and services up probably the best Chinese in the city with exceptional service.
I’ve eaten here a couple of times and noticed that the consistency of the food was not the same, I found it less enjoyable the second time, nonetheless very good.

***A hidden gem in Modesto***
Real good authentic Chinese food, if you don’t believe me, my Modesto chick is Chinese and she even vouched for it as we had lunch here together!?!
So many times you order random family style dishes in the hopes at least a few are really good, but everything we had here was on point yo! We had a few lunch plates and a few entrees so let’s break’em down yo:
Starter Salad — this comes with the lunch special, it had the crispy wontons which I love and a special white dressing, so good!
Starter Soup — tasted like chicken egg drop soup, super creamy, and delish (also on the lunch special)
Fried Rice — cooked to perfection, not too dry, just the way I like it!
Kung Pao — so flavorful and juicy.
Homestyle Tofu — if you love Tofu you will love this, I hate when you order something with Tofu and there just isn’t enough tofu given to you… well you don’t have to worry about that when you order this dish and it comes with strips of pork as well
Sichuan Style Eggplant — loads and loads of damn good tasting eggplant, not stingy with their servings whatsoever!
Hong Kong Style Noodles with Seafood — this dish is a must order, all the seafood is fresh, the noodles are amazing, also comes with veggies, a great dish to share as the serving size is humungo!
This place is kind of hidden and isn’t in the best of areas, but then again what is a good area in Modesto!?! Parking lot is pretty big so no shortage of parking. The place itself is enormous so it is great for big parties. The service is superb and the food is amazing which is what should matter most! So if you ever in Modesto with your lady, baby mama, side chick, or just the fam-bam…come peep this place out!?!

This is my second time eating food from Shangri-​la China Bistro in Modesto. So far the food is great, I love their fried rice, which I’m pretty picky with. The restaurant looks nice, it would be good for a date night, or a dinner party. They have a bar and a nice elegant looking private party room. The Mongolian beef is good, as is the lemon chicken. As I try more I’ll update my review, and next time I actually have time to sit and dine in I will review that as well.
