Caffe Amore

Good food. Tiny place but nicely done. I really like the ambiance but the food is their number one attraction. Meat is tender and humus is great. I recommend this place and u can have whatever there; you can’t go wrong.

I love this hookah spot. The customer service is amazing. Very nice employees and respectful. The hookah is pretty good too better than most in the Modesto. Would definitely come back often

Two stars only because the food is decent. HOWEVER, beyond unprofessional. Smoking hookah while working, waited over 40 mins for our food, and they served FRIENDS first (when they had been there only minutes, and I had been waiting 40), and forgot our coffee (should have been the first thing they served). Overall, very unhappy and unsatisfied. Do not recommend.

If you love hookah, great freshly made food and a small atmosphere perfect for a date look no further. This café is might not have a large menu but everything is well seasoned and cook perfectly.

Chicken kabob is the bomb! And then some hookah after a great meal. Great place overall you will not be dissapointed!

I’ve got to say, I don’t usually have a reason to get up one day and just go to modesto, but my better half told me that we’re going to try this place in modesto and I had my upmost faith in her and wasn’t at all dissapointed :)
Allow me to start with Hookah + Food + Alcohol + Live DJ = Awesome chill spot. We don’t have hookah places with food nor alcohol back in San Jose, but this place makes it work. The food is really good and generously proportioned at a reasonable price. The hookah is also reasonably priced and set up fairly quickly. The music they had going on was a mix of EDM, some Trap (awesome) and top 40s. The place itself, is cozy and not cramped and hard to maneuver through when crowded, which is really nice. The folks here are all incredibly friendly, a very mom and pop shop. Everything from the shisha to the customer service and food was all good quality, when I was here I was having a most wonderful time.
Overall; if you want to find a new chill place to hookah and kick back with some chaps, this is a great hole-​in-​the-​wall. Oh, and try their food, the rice and meat is good!

This is absolutely my favorite hookah lounge in the valley. If you want to chill, you can come here. Need coffee, you can come here. Want to study, you can come here. Hungry? Phenomenal food. The service is absolutely amazing shout out to Taylor, she’s the best! Always satisfying all of their customers and making sure they leave happy. The owners are not the owners, they are family to everyone that walks in this place. All of their employees go above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied with your time here. Awesome DJ on Saturday nights. And a great lounge area too! All around awesome, I recommended everyone to stop by here anytime of the day!

— Great ambiance for «chill» smoke daily and DJ’s on the weekend.
— They carry Fumari, Starbuzz, and Al-​Fakher. .. and ACTUALLY give you the flavor you request.
A TON of hookah bars exploit newbie smokers by either swapping flavors or by substituting the «name» brand flavor with one that is lower quality.

While I am employed in the Bay Area, I frequent Café Amore on a weekly basis as my destination for relaxation.
The hookah is the MOST fairly priced and the quality of smoke surpasses all other local hookah locations. Their menu offers WAY more than the average hookah bar and the CHICKEN PLATE is a standalone favorite.
I most appreciate overhearing the staff discussing ways they can improve the customer experience. While some Unilocal reviews note a lack of customer service, it is imperative to consider that Café Amore is much more than JUST a hookah bar. Their resources are additionally stretched to provide all the amenities of a café. .. where can you get a GOOD hookah, a Greek salad, a glass of wine, and free WiFi at 11AM on a weekday?!
I could write endlessly on the graciousness of the family team that operates Café Amore, this review is a simple thanks to them.

Food only review:
I have been here twice now. I had the Chicken Kabob and Steak Kabob plates. Both really dry and overcooked. The chicken kabob flavor was pretty good though. Huge chunks of meat. Would be 4 stars if not overcooked. Maybe they should cut the meat chunks smaller and divide into 2 skewers so it takes less time to grill and not overcook the meat.

I’m new to the area and wandered in by accident during my lunch break. I DID NOT know this was a hookah bar but in NO WAY is that the restaurant’s fault! I just wanted to eat somewhere quickly and I pulled into WHAT I THOUGHT would be a nice, little café (…the name is deceiving!)
Firstly, the décor of the bar is a little dingy — no judgement though. Maybe that’s what people who go to hookah bars are into (I’ve never been to a hookah bar prior to this/​never done hookah so I wouldn’t know!) But sure, I can get on board with the casually strewn, oddly placed assortment of random couches/​magazines/​chairs/​tables. It’s almost charming in a way (rustic, organic, salt of the earth, etc). It smelled heavily of tobacco but DUH, it’s a hookah bar. I had to go back to work though so I was a little anxious about smelling like tobacco.
The woman behind the counter OBVIOUSLY could tell I was lost but HEY! I’m in the BIG MODO now — I decided to venture outside of my little comfort zone. There was a cute, elderly couple dining at a small table and a bunch of guys doing hookah around a mounted TV. I ordered a turkey sandwich and the woman took my order.
NOW onto the REVIEW. The sandwich was… okay…It wasn’t really anything that special and a little overpriced for what it was (regular bread, turkey, etc). I probably could have made it myself. So this is a review for all you lost wanderers out there — maybe just go pick up lunch at Target down the street.

First time in Modesto, from San Jose. I was sorta iffy about this place when I first walked in but I was wrong. It’s a family owned business it seems like. The people here are so friendly! I didn’t know it was part restaurant, they serve beer, food, and hookah. San Jose doesn’t have places like this over where I live so it was nice. All in one type place. We ordered a bowl of safari melon and hint of lemon Mint and a plate of large hummus and pita bread. Then a new bowl of white peach and lemon mint and then ordered a plate of chicken kebab to share and also ordered a bowl of chai shisha flavor. Also 6 cups of hot tea. I would come back to this place if I’m ever back around here. Everything is clean and service is great. The chicken kebab Is so good, flavorful and tender.
Although I thought it was weird that a couple by us would bring their baby into a hookah lounge to smoke.
The hookah is super cheap here like starting at $ 10 refills are $ 5, half the price in San Jose. Also, the ac is perfect in here, not too cold and I can see my smoke clouds
Came here at 6pm and it’s now 1am. They stopped grilling since its late but the owner was generous enough to make us an order of beef kebab.
So in total we had:
6 cups of hot tea, 2 cups of coffee
Chicken kebab plate with rice and pita
Beef kebab plate with rice
1 baklava type birdnest looking dessert
1 dessert of almond and walnut pastry
An appetizer of pita and hummus
An appetizer of bread and olive oil
And a beer
Sharing with only 3 people including myself.
Best service, awesome people.
Only complaint I have is they mainly use starbuzz and coal service isn’t great.

Amazing place !!! The owners made me feel like I was in my own home. So generous and kind!!! Their hookah is amazing! Well done packers!!! The food is perfection and they give u ur money’s worth! Love this place I always go with my boyfriend it is absolutely one of our favorite places to go.

Great customer service and delicious food! Also, if you like to smoke hookah it’s a great place to be at. Great prices for everything. Definitely a place I frequent about 3 – 4 times a week.

Awful service. Was told there would be 25 minute wait for kabob so ordered gyro instead. Surprise, 25 minutes later and still waiting. I’m going to assume she didn’t want to be bothered to make kabob. In the meantime, we get to listen to the cashier complain and swear about people to customers, as well as customers who left. Food wasn’t worth it. 3 pieces of meat on a gyro? With a plethora of Middle Eastern restaurants around, this place needs to step it up. Starting with better service would help tremendously.
