Nori sushi rocks! Wifey and myself are on a 21 day detox of sugar and carbs. These guys totally can through today on our 20th day. Taking care and customization to a whole new level with rolls and wraps that do not have rice or crab meat(including mayo) we’ve officially had a plate/roll today called the Detox roll! So happy to have found this little gem a few years ago and it’s certainly our sushi joint.

Greeted by nice server. Quaint inside. Was a little cold. They adjusted temp for us. Can sit down Japanese style if you prefer. Sodas in can, so no refills. Edamame microwaved and below average. Even though nice server, there was only one. Food served but took a bit of time to get our additional condiments and utensils, so we did not eat right away. Salmon quality excellent. Tuna quality good, but did not melt in the mouth like the salmon did. Tiger roll took a while to prepare and was good, but not great. Would have liked the tempura portion placed on top to be hotter. It was probably cooked ahead of time. Also, would have been better if was a little spicier since it was claimed to be, «cajun». Caterpillar roll right on par. Pricing very competitive, and probably could be said to be a better value than most. Left satisfied. Food 4.5 Service 3.5 Value 4.5 Experience 4.0.

We arrived for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn’t very crowded and we got seats at the bar. It’s a nice little sushi spot with cozy décor and a friendly staff. We ordered: Salmon, yellowtail, scallop sushi was all very fresh. Live sweet shrimp were amazing! $ 12.50 each We also ordered blue fin tuna, yellowtail belly and uni sashimi also very tasty and fresh The beautiful roll was nice! With no rice and a soy wrapper. Baked salmon roll was good. The salmon on top was creamy and cooked and the inside was California roll. 3 bottles of sake, sushi and sashimi =$ 212 lunch for 3 At the end of the meal they gave us complimentary dessert! We liked it here. We also have another sushi spot in town that we like, but from now on we’ll alternate between the two places. What a find! Best tempura I have had in a long time. Ordered combo chicken teriyaki and pork cutlet and it was pretty good. However the California roll was fishy. And the shoyu ramen wasn’t great. I’ve made better ramen from a frozen /instant ramen mix.

Bomb place! Always come here, especially with my co-workers. Ashley was my server. The jungle tiger rolls, jalapeño tempura rolls, and garlic edamame are always on point. I’ll definitely come back again next week! =] –Steve

Excellent fresh ingredients and they don’t overload on the rice. The sashimi is cut large and thick. Excellent service. I think this might be our new spot.

I used to be a huge fan of this place! Well one day on my lunch break I ordered a roll and a cucumber salad. Well halfway through my roll I discovered a short black hair. Disgusted and starving I thought maybe I’ll just eat the cucumber salad. Nope! Had two hairs in that one. So disgusting. Thank you nori sushi, have not been able to eat sushi from anywhere since!

From the outside, Nori Sushi does not seem like a place that would be so decorated on the inside. This past Monday seemed slow, which meant we got better service. The inside has a ceiling reminiscent of a bamboo hut with some hanging icicle lights coming down from the ceiling. The lights above each table are sturdier versions of paper lamps with writing on them. I did notice they had a special seating room in the front of the restaurant, complete with floor-level tables and chairs(you know the ones you see on those travel channels?). I was not in the mood for sushi, so I opted for a chicken teriyaki bowl. Chicken had some sesame seeds in it and the chives added a bit of crunch to the dish! Very simplistic dish but hit the spot for $ 7. For beer specials, they have buy one beer, get one for $ 1!(Japanese beers only) but a pretty good deal! I will have to come back and try their edamame and compared their tuna tempura to Niko Niko next time.

My wife and I just moved to the area and were craving sushi, so we thought we would try this place. We ordered the garlic edamame and 3 rolls. The place wasn’t busy except for 2 large tables. About 25 minutes went by and the edamame hadn’t arrived yet. Normally at any sushi place I’ve had, it comes out first in a short amount of time. I decided to track down our waitress(since she didn’t come back) and asked what the deal was. She said«the cook didn’t see your ticket». What??? I said just forget it. Well, ten more minutes goes by, still no sign of our sushi(now we’re at 35 minutes with nothing). I noticed a party of 2 and a party of 4 came in after we did and sat at the bar and they were already eating. They may have waited 15 minutes tops for their orders. I get up again to track down our waitress to ask what the deal is and she has no explanation. We decided to just leave. Very disappointing for such a cute place. We won’t be returning.

We went there this past week and sat in the tatami as we had a large party. There were great reviews for the sushi so we ordered some happy meals, Benton, and ramen. The service was really good and nice but extremely extremely slow. Didn’t think it would be a two hour lunch… Ramen was over cooked so it wasn’t very good. The sashimi was ok but definitely not fresh. We did not get the blue fin tuna but probably should have. Will not recommend for family with Kids but will be a good place for young people with time to burn and value the sport tv and AC over other points.

I’ll start off by saying I’ve been here several times and the food is good however the service is not great. Tonight was our last attempt. We waited for more than 15 minutes to be acknowledged to be seated. Not one of the servers ever made eye contact. As I mentioned while the food is good, not worth the lack of customer service. There’s many other sushi places in the area that are just as good.

Are you kidding? Talk about value! For like $ 12.00 I just had a feast of super high quality food for the lunch special. The ginger is real. I would have paid double. I’m so happy.

This is a hidden gem that I am glad we found! Great quality of fish and great prices too! Love the beer special — buy 1 get 1 for $ 1. ALLDAYEVERYDAY! We have had the«Awesome Blue Fin Tuna» and it was my favorite thing here. Blue Fin Tuna sashimi, with some sauce on top, and then crispy spinach as a garnish! Their regular tuna sushi is also great and they give you the option the add crab in replacement of rice which is great for a healthier option! Their specialty rolls are mostly $ 8 which is such a good price! They have a baked roll with scallops and crawfish and it was really good! I didn’t think I would like crawfish but I did! Similar texture to lobster so cannot complain. My husband and I consider this our new go-to Sushi spot. I would recommend trying to sit as far back in the restaurant as possible to avoid the kids playing near the front. They have a kid play place so sometimes it can get a little loud up front.

This is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant! Me and my husband occasionally try other sushi places, but we always compare them to Nori and how Nori is always the best. The ambience is nice, the people are friendly and the sushi is so amazingly delicious and the prices are very decent! I’ve been here so many times this year and haven’t had a single bad experience. Me and my husband are always full and happy after we leave! Some of my favorite rolls are the Double Tiger, Hot Night, Super Crunch and Ichiban. I’d like to try their ramen and other cooked dishes, but we always come craving the sushi!

I come here often and rarwly have to wait long. Wait staff is very friendly and helpful in answering questions. Just wish the menu had better descriptions of rolls so i wouldnt have to ask so many questions. Thus is not a problem for me but maybe for a first time sushi adventure

This is a reasonable fusion style sushi restaurant in Mission Viejo. We tried a couple of their rolls and the ramen. For ramen, both the shoyu(soy sauce) base and miso base broth had good flavor, but the ramen noodles were seriously over cooked. I don’t think they use fresh ramen noodles either. If you are going to try their noodles, try their udon, which is more forgiving when over cooked. We tried their Baja Yellow Tail Roll and their super cruchy roll. The fish wasn’t super fresh, but didn’t have a strong amine(fishy smell). They are heavy on the use of creamy sauces.

I found this restaurant one day when a friend and I really wanted sushi… and the place we were planning to go was closed. It seems a lot of sushi places in South Orange County are closed for lunch on Sundays. The restaurant is decorated so peacefully. I love it! It is relaxing and pretty. The sushi I have tried here has been really good. I have had a jalapeño roll, yellowstone roll, garlic albacore roll, and honestly I do not remember the names of the others. I did not see it on the menu, but asked about it… and they have it… GARLICEDAMAME! It is fantastic. I want to lick the plate clean. It has so much flavor and a bit of spice to it at times. They have a special for all Japanese beer, buy one get one for $ 1(small) or $ 2(large). I dont usually drink beer, but tried the Asahi last time, and it was good. The few times I have been here, the restaurant has been extremely empty, which is a bummer. I hope they stick around! Service is good, and the sushi is delicious!

This place is great!!! There are tons of options for any type of sushi eater. If that makes sense. Things I’ve never even heard of! A very authentic feel to the place too. It’s a hidden gem really because it’s tucked away in a very small shopping mall. But I highly recommend it! The staff is nice and they have a little slide/play area for the kids. Food is 5 stars. Prices are the most affordable you’ll find for sushi. 3 adults and 5 kids got insanely full, probably 9 plus rolls and a few kids meals(they have those too!) for about $ 100. Tell me where you can get that kind of deal… Usually it’s about $ 80 for just 2 people other places. Anyway they’re great and super delicious!!!

Ordered to go and had to wait about 10 min after time that was promised even though the place was empty. Sushi was ok. It’s very close to home so it’s possible we will return.
