great prices especially for children, i like that you can call ahead to get your name on the list

I specifically told the person who cut my son’s hair about his cowlicks and where not to cut short… and that’s exactly where he cut it. It looked awful for weeks until it finally grew out.

We were fortunate to find Halo when we moved to CA from TX 2 years ago. They had a coupon on the back of the grocery store receipt and we gave them a try. Everyone who has cut our hair including owners Alysha and Steve, and Ann and Paul do a great job for a fair price. Our entire family including kids and mom haven’t cut our hair anywhere else since we moved to CA. Cuts, color, style… Halo does a great job with very friendly service.

Read: this place is great for kids, but terrible if you want a more professional cut to wear out of the house. I recently moved to South county and wanted to get a short cut to donate my long hair and combat the postpartum hair loss I’m experiencing. I originally made an appointment at another salon near me, but $ 60 for a simple cut had me looking elsewhere. I called Halo and they said I could come in right then and get a haircut for less than half the price. Bad sign #1. I got there and the place was empty save for a mom and her 3 boys. Bad sign #2. There was a guy named Paul cutting the oldest boy’s hair while the rest of the employees hung out in some back room, so it took a minute or two for someone to greet and help me. Bad sign #3. I told the lady I how much hair I wanted to donate and she and the owner took about 5 minutes to ponytail off the right length, and once it was chopped off, I saw they had cut off too much. Bad sign #4. I then sat down to have my hair washed, which took only a few minutes so my hair did not feel clean. Bad sign #5. The lady asked to see my example picture again and after I said «shorter in the back, longer in the front» proceeded to part my hair down the middle and cut off all my hair in the back. Gross. One kid who was waiting for Paul to finish just gawked at me. So bad. The lady blow-​dried my hair curling inwards so that my head resembled a mushroom then cut off a little bit more. When she gave me the mirror to see the back, I just nodded and died a little bit inside. It looked NOTHING like the picture. But the deed was done, and I proceeded to the front to pay, where the lady said I looked «cute». Yeah, that’s because if you held up my 2^nd grade school picture next to me and my new haircut it’d be like looking at twins. I’m almost 20 and I now look like a 6 year old. Thanks a ton, Halo.

I was disappointed when I went for a haircut a few days ago, called ahead and Steve and I had a misunderstanding on appointment with him. Ended up getting a cut from another girl and left not very happy.
I went back yesterday to get my haircut re-​done and Steve talked to me. We ironed out the miscommunication and I got my hair redone by Ann, who’s did a great job! She has a great personality and you can tell that she listens to what you want done.
Overall this visit turned out great! And hoping to be a regular costumer!

AWESOME place to get your long layered hair done. I am now a regular & forget all about paying $ 100 at the fancy salons. I can come 3 times for that & I am just as satisfied.

Excellent haircut! I am a very happy girl. Ann was very kind and listened to exactly what I wanted (I was very strict about keeping the length, and she did not disappoint!) and framed my face beautifully. I have super thick, long hair, so I’m always skeptical about trying a new place out. I’m also trying to save on cost, without sacrificing quality (I usually go to Paul Mitchell, but they always take so long!), so I was extremely satisfied how my hair turned out. In and out in 45 minutes.

Second visit to Halo but this time Steven did a color, cut and style on my «stubborn grey» hair. Once again I am very pleased with the results — Steven took great care to make sure that I got the right color and cut for my face. Their price for my service was very reasonable and I know now that this will be my «salon home» from now on. Keep up the great work Steven!

I got a really nice long-​layer cut from Annie. She listened to what I wanted, and I showed her a picture of my hair when curly so she could take that into account. She was very sweet and cheerful, and the cut feels great.

First time there. I came in with my 2 boys ages 6 and 7. All three of us have very different hair and styles. We all left looking good. Team was friendly. Price was good.

My 2 year old is ridiculously scared of getting his haircut and they did a great job of being quick with the clippers. I had to hold him the entire time but it literally took 5 minutes. They’re the best.

I recently moved but had been going to Halo Cuts for about a year. You have to ask for Paul! He cut my sons and my hair every couple of weeks. Paul is great with kids and hair! I would highly recommend him, and will get cute when I make trips back to California. The price is fair and the cuts are fantastic!

I usually love halo cuts and style I went there last year on their three year anniversary and received a free haircut! It was amazing and for the first time ever I got a haircut that I loved right at the spot. I went there a couple days ago and didn’t have such a great experience. My boyfriend wanted a haircut so I took him there and I saw a woman who I had never seen there before. She seemed nice at first but it got awkward at the end. We gave her the card and then she just stared at us like she was waiting. So I said to my boyfriend, I think it’s time for you to tip her now. He grabbed his wallet and he didn’t have any money, we had left it in the car and immediately after she yelled at us to sign the reciept. If she had Waited maybe five seconds for me to say I’ll go get the money from the car she would’ve received her well deserved tip. Our car was parked right outside the entrance, would’ve taken 2 minutes max to get the money. But the way she yelled at my boyfriend embarrassed me for recommending the place.

I’ve been taking my twin girls for the past two years. Great prices and super friendly owner. I’ve made appointments and also walk in’s and I rarely have to wait. Of course budget is a factor but if they had given them a bad haircut, I would have never come back so quality is very important as well. Highly recommend it!

Best haircut place I have been to. Also taking my 3 year old to there as well. We are now regular customers of Steven. It is not pricey at all as well. I do not think haircut from Steven may disappoint anybody (you or who else cares about your hair and looks) :-)

This place is the best! Steven, Paul, and the entire staff really take their time. They give you the best cut and style anywhere, and you can’t beat their prices. I brought my 2 year old twins with me this time and they were a handful to say the least. Paul gave both of them toys (new in the package that he bought himself) to keep them calm, and Steven patiently cut my son’s hair while he sat on my lap. If you need a great haircut or style, I highly recommend Halo.

After skimming Unilocal for a place to get my haircut I stumbled upon this salon right down the street from my house. Tiffany cut my hair and started off by asking me what cut I was looking for and repeated back what I said to be sure she got it right. She wasn’t very talkative like normal hairdressers are, making small talk about nothing. but it was nice to sit in silence and watch the tv near the mirror, as I was pretty tired from work. In the end I was very happy with my haircut for such a reasonable price, includes shampoo, blow dry, and some styling at the end. She made a great first impression and I’ll be back for more haircuts in the future. Keep up the good work.

Just stopped by today to get a haircut for myself and my son. I was very impressed by the people and the salon, very welcoming and professional. Kim cut my sons hair and Steve, the owner, cut my hair. Both were fantastic and at a very fair price. We’ll be back!

I bring my kids here for haircuts and they always do a great job. The usual stylists are Steven (for my son) and Alysha (for my girls). Seems like a lot of moms bring their kids here after school like me. There’s a Rubios next door and a Del Taco in the same lot so if there’s a wait, you can always go eat. Also Trader Joes and Party City nearby if you really want to take care of business.
Kids Cuts are $ 11 – 14, depending. They gave a punch card for a free cut after 8 (or is it 10?) visits. And of course, the infamous Dum Dum lollipop bucket to spoil your kids!

Stopped by because my regular hair stylist moved away. I’m glad that I did! Steven is very friendly and easy to talk to. He knows what he’s doing!
