By far the best sushi in town. Fiancé loves sushi and he had never been so I figure I had to take him. Last time I had been was 4 years ago. Still very good and priced well! I Also had baby octopus, very good. Never eaten before and loved them! Very friendly staff. Drinks always full. This is our favorite sushi spot.

MUSTTRYTHISPLACE. This was me & my boyfriend’s 1st time to the area & also to Sushimoto. It was a recommendation from another(restaurant) business owner & boy, it doesn’t disappoint. We arrived to a 30 minute wait(it was 8pm on a Friday night) but we were determined to see what they had to offer & saw that there were only about 10 tables & a sushi bar. We started w/squid salad, pan seared gyoza(dumplings) & cucumber salad. Had the steak teriyaki & yakisoba as entrees. We’ve been to a number of similar places and we were blown away by Sushimoto. The waitstaff was so attentive & pleasant. The timing of the food was perfect despite how busy it was. The prices are as expected. If we ever come back to the area, we will return to Sushimoto! Thankx for kicka** last dinner in FL!

This is a small restaurant, so be prepared for the long wait to get your food. I had the sushi and sashimi lunch. The miso soup that comes with it took almost 20 minutes to be served and when it finally arrived, it was cold. Another 25 minutes of wait and we finally got our orders. Sushi and sashimi was decent, but it’s not worth the wait. I had better expectations based on the other reviews.

I’ll start by saying the food is delicious. Got the chicken teri bowl for lunch and the That’s How We Roll. Clever. The owner was there. He seemed on top of things but admitted they were missing a sushi chef and things were going slow. The atmosphere was so passive aggressive. They have some intense policies on substitutions and larger parties. It is a small place too. They closed the curtains at 2:45. It was so dark and uncomfortable to leave into the sun. It was cheap though for some delicious food. Better than it was bad. Would go again.

Sushimoto is fantastic! Quick and excellent service, the cuts of fish are generous and your drink will never be empty. I highly recommend Sushimoto!

Good food but restaurant is small with limited space. Waiting time is 30 – 45 mins and portion is kinda small.

This is the best sushi restaurant and trust me I would know. My husband and I eat sushi 3 – 4 times per week from Dallas to Destin to San Francisco. This is hands down the best staff, sushi, and atmosphere in the city(and surrounding areas). W have moved now to Destin and as locals would go no where else for sushi!

Best sushi place we’ve tried in Destin, in fact in Florida. Second generation sushi chef Komei Matsumoto and wife only have self bought fresh fish from the local fish auction. Very friendly staff and cozy setting. Make it a point to stop in.

I gave them 3 stars beacuase they have an amazing staff. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Now for the sushi. Well it was OK at best. Quality is just not there. And it’s very pricey for what you get.

Back again!!! I looked forward to seeing Andy and as expected, he didn’t disappoint! I started with the Cobia Tatiki, which was a special that Andy recommended, and was DELICIOUS. Right as the appetizer was ending, Andy came out and had a sake bomb with me! Then I had to get the amazing signature roll that he named after me :). Lenni’s Crab Mix was next(also good with a little kick like I like) and to finish off, the waitress recommended the So Fresh, So Clean roll, which was different than the typical roll as it has lime and mango inside the roll but still very delicious! Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Andy!!! :)

Great little sushi place. Only thing is the restaurant is super small. Has seating of about 26 people max. So there is quite a wait and a line to be seated.

We’ve been wanting to come here since we’ve been vacationing in Destin area. Walked in, sat right away. It’s a smaller place, however the service and food is awesome and we’re picky about our sushi. Looks to be mostly locals, which was nice, didn’t have to fight the tourist crowd. Highly recommend!

EXCELLENTSERVICE… food was phenomenal. Short wait to place our order, while the staff attended to us as if we were the only ones there. Salmon and rolls were some of best we’ve had. Definitely not a vacationer spot – fairly small and quaint but seems to be run by a closeknit family. Cookie Monster roll is fabulous!

Meh, not bad. Everyone seems to like this place but my wife and I both thought it was average as far as sushi joints go. We both got 2 rolls a piece and each thought one of ours was good and the other was not so great. Specifically, I got a «This is How We Roll» roll(Shrimp tempura, cucumber & sp mayo w/salmon, krab salad on top) which, in my mind, would be ruined by blindly dunking it in soy sauce and wasabi, but there was no other sauce or drizzle to give it an flavor/moisture. It’s small so you may end up waiting for a table and no reservations taken.

We really enjoyed our lunch here while on vacation. Sushi was fresh and they even did a teriyaki bowl with the sauce on the side for my 9 year old. Server was friendly and very helpful. At one point the sun was hitting a car windshield outside and blinding three of us in a booth and they happily lowered the blinds on the door a few inches. Highly recommend. Remember! Be nice or leave!

I visited this place for the first time and it was decent. I would come back, but not as often as other reviewers. I ordered the beef yakisoba and was disappointed. The noodles were thin and not the traditional soba noodles. They was a lot of egg in it. The flavor profile was close, but the noodles ruined it. I felt I was eating some sort of beef Chinese dish. I also had seaweed salad, traditionally known as wakame, and it was spot on. No complaints here. I ordered 4 pieces of yellowtail, hamachi, and 4 pieces of tuna, maguro. It was nigiri and not sashimi. The fish was fresh, but too much wasabi. I tasted more wasabi than anything else. Overall, it was decent. I would go back to try the tempura and not judge this place solely on one visit. The service is very slow. I waited about 25 minutes for eight pieces of nigiri.
