Massage Envy Spa – Minnetonka

I would stay away from this place. It is too hard to get an appointment, the lobby is small and the front desk staff are unprofessional, unaccommodating, and rude. I could put up with it if the massages were good, but they are no better than fine.
There are a lot better places who value the client. Not treat them as an annoyance.

This is a review for policies and management of this location.
(Massages at various locations have always been 4 – 5 star quality and overall great).
I signed up with the Minnesota location knowing that I would be moving in the next year to an area that does not have a massage envy within 60 miles of where I was moving. I was assured this would not be a problem.
It was indeed a nightmare attempting to cancel this month to month membership.
There are only 2 ways you can cancel membership
1) If you live in a area that does not have a massage envy within x amount of miles. You must mail in pretty much everything about you from car insurance with new address etc… to get the membership cancelled
or,
2) Receive a medical release stating you can not get massages.
When I did cancel in their contract it states that it will take x amount of days I think around 30 to cancel membership.
I faxed my request in with all the documents about me stating I did not live near a massage envy.
— My intentions were to use the last 3 massages I had on file while on vacation during the period of time the contract would take to cancel.
Minnesota refused to allow me to use these massages while the place I was vacationing had no problem with me using them. It turned into a lot of time on the phone during my vacation and the offices having different policies.
The Minnesota location was extremely passive aggressive and had terrible customer service. The California location where I was vacationing was great and super laid back about it.
Overall the signup system is a bit scammy b/​c you sign a contract with the fine print not explained to you. Luckily I knew what I was getting myself into b/​c I read all of the contract before signing.

I like this new location. Massage envy is very convenient, I can call the same day and get in most of the time.
Massage envy’ s are not your upscale spa, but your not paying for that either. You can count on a clean room, professional therapists, and friendly staff.
I would recommend Scott and Hahn.
