I found this place via ClassPass a few months ago(apparently so did everyone else as now every time I walk in I hear«Hi, I am with ClassPass»). I think this is my soul mate workout… Mary Ann’s class is fun and inspiring. She feels the flow of the room and determines how the class should be structured. She might be the sweetest person I have met and I truly there to make sure you have an effective, safe workout. Most times I leave class dripping with sweat. It is definitely challenging and IS a great unisex class(for all you men out there who think it wont give you a great workout). I am thinking of buying a part-time monthly pass to go along with my ClassPass membership since I love it so much. I initially tried another instructors class that wasn’t full and wasn’t a great workout but I am so glad I went back and found Mary Ann. My only con is that the entrance to the studio smells like wet dog all the time. However, the studio itself doesn’t smell and the workout is so fantastic that I just got over it.

I’ve been taking reformer Pilates classes for about 6 months and really love them, but find that the studios are very hit-or-miss. I either get a good workout in where my muscles are burning, or I feel like I’m just stretching on the machine for an hour with soft, relaxing music. I prefer the former — there’s nothing like a great workout where your muscles are screaming for mercy and you feel happy the pain is over when the class ends. This class will give you just that. So like the motto on the wall says, «Get your ass to class»… because it will be on fire, and you’ll probably see results if you go consistently. They have this particular studio in San Francisco(where I’m from), and I’m kicking myself for not going sooner because it’s the kind of workout that I love(I will now be going when I return home!) The workout itself is well-balanced with an emphasis on your legs and butt(lunges, etc). You will get a good arm and core workout as well. The music in the class is your traditional Top 40 /EDM music, so it is upbeat, fun, and energetic(not sleepy-relaxing music). The class is all levels, but almost everyone in the class is in really great shape. I consider myself to be in good shape, and there were times where I felt like I couldn’t keep going because my muscles were hurting(no pain, no gain — this is a good thing!) With bigger classes(my class had ~6 people), it’s hard to get corrections and adjustments as frequently. The class also moves fairly quickly, so if you’re brand-new to pilates, you may want to just take note. The studio is large, clean, and spacious with very tall ceilings and an industrial, exposed-pipes, minimalist feel. Compared to SF where we’re a bit cramped for space everywhere, this place feels like a palace. They have large, digital-code lockers, 2 bathrooms, showers, a barre studio. The whole place just feels well-kept, well-decorated, pretty, and inviting. The pilates room is large and has mirrors across the entire room, and there are probably 10 – 12 reformers. Overall, I would definitely come back here next time I’m in Minneapolis for work. Easy parking in the shopping center and you’ll enter from the lower-level.

My girlfriend told me I needed to try reformer Pilates. As a 30 y/o man and former athlete I was initially opposed to the idea but agreed to go to the Pilates Pro class with her at Pilates ProWorks. What they offer is a truly unisex experience focused on one thing, getting an incredible workout! I’ve long been tired of the standard gym routine. I’ve lost the desire to do my weights-oriented workouts. Reformer Pilates is an excellent alternative! You get the resistance and repetitions needed to break a sweat and see results. Pilates ProWorks recognizes that not everyone who walks through the door is experienced. The teachers will understand your fitness level and adjust the difficulty by offering the right variations on each exercise. The studio is brand new so it’s a beautiful facility. I definitely recommend!

Kick your ASS classes… If you want a challenge and want to see results you need to try the reformers class. The 30 min barre/30 min pilates is a nice mix. I have not tried the TRX class and to be honest I’m a little nervous to try as I heard it is tough… in a good way! I love the staff and instructors at this studio. They are friendly and positively motivate you. The studio is inviting and clean. Trust me you will see results, so get your ass to class!
