I am so glad I found this place! As a recent transplant to the Twin Cities I’ve been trying to replace the things/​food I loved in my hometown. I work on Lake Street so the nearness in proximity of San Miguel is perfect.
Primos are my absolute favorite. They are the little gingerbread pig shaped cookies. Anything filled with sweet potato or pumpkin gets my money as well. The conchas (large round sugar covered bread) and the pink cookies are delicious as well. The prices are great here! Grab some tongs and a tray, pile on the carbs, and roll yourself home. Pretty sure it’s getting ready to move up the street, though. Keep your eyes peeled!

If Mexican Pan Dulces and Pasteles intrigue you, take a trip to San Miguel, a dainty little shop near the Mercado Central, located between Pupuseria & Restaurant & Cadillac Pawn.
The Pan Dulces and Pasteles are fresh and baked daily as they run out. Not a big selection of pastries compared to Marissa’s bakery; but be that as it may San Miguel still is far more competitively priced than the average doughnut or pastry shop.
You go in, grab a tray and a pair of tongs and start loading up everything from Polverones, Conchas, Cuernos, to Cema and Chorreadas all on the menu here.
