Such a cute place! I went here during Open Street and they had a lot of sales on furniture. I ended up getting four chairs with wicker backs for $ 75. They also sell personal antiques as well. UPDATE 1 year later and the chairs are doing great!

I love the area this little store is in. Roadrunner Records, Anodyne, Low Brow, and a few other cute places are nearby. I’m not sure if you call this place an «antique store» or «a curiosity shop». They pretty much have a fine mix of every era you could ever think of in the last 100 years. I always seem to visit this place because I am visiting one of the other businesses on the block… so it’s kind of the cherry on top of the sundae for me. Kind of like a weird museum you can buy things from. I always find something interesting that doesn’t break the bank. My latest find was a piece of Mexican pottery in the shape of a mermaid that I thought would make a great gift for my lady. The coolest part about my purchase? The store owner knew the story of the piece, stating it was a Dona Rosa from Mexico and highly collectible… and he even pointed out it was a whistle. This pretty much sums up every purchase I have made in this store… I find something cool, I go up to the counter with it to buy it, and the owner tells me the story behind it. This is what keeps me coming back.

Xmas shopping mini-review #5 After leaving«I Like You», I was kind of hankering for something to eat. I strolled south, perusing my options. First, I discovered a couple more places worth checking out. Odds N Ends pretty much looked like an antique store to me, but I caught a glimmer they weren’t a particularly stuffy one, so I gave them a shot. As I hoped they were a little more eclectic. The staff was content to let me wander in peace, except perhaps the 5 year old behind the counter who did manage to robotically blurt out a full«welcome to odds n ends can we help you with something?». I thought they had some neat glass(crystal?) decanters(not that they suited anyone on my shopping list), and I was especially amused by their collection of old kitchen appliances(I’m talking electricity was invented last week old). If my apartment weren’t already a fire hazard, I might go back for the ancient waffle maker.
