Manny’s could be the best restaurant in the US. The ribeye is the best. Loaded mashed potatoes are the best. Shrimp cocktail is the best. Service is the best. It is so good that you are okay paying like $ 16 for a drink. That good.

Visiting from out of town and all the recommendations I received insisted Manny’s was the place to go. We decided to follow the advice and I am so glad we did. Nick, whom I believe was one of the managers on duty was very hospitable and accommodating. Our server, Joel(aka Bob) was GREAT! He knew we were first timers and gave great suggestions. My husband and I split the Filet and the Lobster tail. We also ordered the Truffle Fries and Sautéed Mushrooms. Both then filet and lobster just melted in our mouths. The truffle fries were amazing and the mushrooms were great also. Even though we were both in a food coma after eating all that we decided to get dessert. The cheesecake is to die for and the hot fudge sundae is insanely huge. Needless to say the best dinner we have had hands down!!! Thank you Manny’s for a great evening!

I had always heard how great this place is and it did not disappoint. The Filet was one of the top Steaks I’ve had. Service was impressive. And the sides were perfect as shared items. People should know this place lives up to the hype.

This place is top notch! Known for being the best steak house in the city. I had the BBQ shrimp and broiled cauliflower with goat cheese. The whole head of cauliflower! The shrimp is Cajun delicious. White table cloths. Formal servers. Worth every penny!

No trip to twin cities is done without a visit to one of «America’s Top 10 steakhouses»…amazing as always… Chilean sea bass, 3 way pork chops(not for me;-), and the most amazing 85 day aged ribeye…

First time to Manny’s after hearing from darn near everyone how good it is. I would not consider myself a steak connesiour by any means but I do make them at home at times in the summer. My usual place if looking to get steak is Fogo de Chao. Manny’s overall was good, not great. Headed there on a Tuesday night and it was packed for dinner. Everyone was fairly dressed up, many business men. Tables were fairly close together in the main dining area. We heard the bacon on the appetizer list was good so we ordered that and it did not disappoint. Very tasty smoky hickory flavor. Reminded me of a less tender pork belly. For dinner we ordered the porterhouse and the strip. Nothing to much to write home about, in my opinion they both lacked flavor and seasoning but again I’m not a steak guy. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate a big occasion and want to get dolled up for the experience then this is your place. Having a downtown location can be tricky for parking but we were able to park on the street within a block.

If your looking for a perfectly prepared cut of cow –this is the place! Cooks know what they’re doing and a medium rare = medium rate! amazing right? We went on a busy Saturday night with no reservations and were able to seat quickly. Service was good and we’ll be back.

A group of friends and I recently celebrated a bunch of birthdays with brunch at Manny’s. Although I’d had work dinner at Manny’s several times, it was my first time coming for brunch. The menu had decent options and our waiter recommended things like the Steak & Eggs(featuring a sirloin-type steak), the Steak Sandwich(with sliced fillet), and the Kobe Short Rib Benedict. I ordered the Steak Sandwich and my husband got the Steak and Eggs. The table ordered the Thick Cut Bacon and the Loaded Hashbrowns as sides to share. My sandwich came out with the bun a little burnt, which was surprising, and while the meat(medium) on my sandwich was tender and juicy, it was a little hard to but through in places. That’s the trick with a steak sandwich, you don’t want to make a mess by not being able to take simple bites of your sandwich! I ended up just taking it apart and eating with fork and knife and found it a better option. I also ordered it sans mushrooms but got the mushrooms anyways so had to pick them off. I added a Caesar salad and a cup of French Onion soup to my meal and those was actually probably my favorite part. Manny’s really makes an amazing Caesar dressing, complete with anchovies on top. The soup was spot on as well! As happy as this made me, this was slightly disappointing considering they’re know for great steaks. My husband’s Steak and Eggs were better than my sandwich and something I’d get again. The sides were equally good and everyone preferred the bacon without doubt! Several people ordered bloody Mary’s or their two-for-one Mimosas. Our total before tip was about $ 40/person, which is significantly more than most brunches but significantly less than you’d spend on dinner at Manny’s so I think it was very reasonable.

Had a great dining experience here this week. Our waiter was Rick James. He was superb and the epitome of what great service should be. The food was outstanding. We had the wedge salad which came with blue cheese, tomatoes, onions, bacon, and a yummy dressing. It is the best wedge salad I have ever had. I ordered filet mignon and we shared the loaded mashed potatoes which I almost polished off all by myself. We also ordered cheesecake which came with a chocolate and caramel sauce. We had 2 bottles of the house cabernet which I highly recommend. I can’t wait to come back to Minneapolis just so I can eat here again!

Very fancy place but the food !!! Not so good! We had a family brunch here and no one liked their burgers and salads. The filet was the only good food on the menu. We also came here for dinner with friends. Same experience. Not so great!

Wonderful steak house, old school without being grungy or self consciously«retro». Great service, great side salad,(of all the things!). A plain, non trendy menu that features what a great steak house ought to: tasty, tasty red meat. A personal love here is that medium is medium, the cooks get it. Not bloody, not browned through thanks! This place is worth every cent and I look forward to heading back — taking steak fan mom there for her 80th this Christmas with no doubt she will love it as I did.

Overall 3.5 stars. Located in downtown Minneapolis inside the W– The Foshay hotel(see my review of the property), I had a late lunch there. No wait and they let me sit at a big booth for more comfort. Otherwise the seating(at the bar area, anyway) are the high wooden chairs. After sitting on a plane for 4 hours, no thank you. Service was friendly and very attentive. He forgot to bring my soup, so comped it, which was nice of him. I do not eat steak. At all. I ate here purely out of convenience since it was at the hotel. It’s VERY pricey. They start you off with a big basket of raisin bread(odd). I only tried a little bit of it. Sourdough would’ve probably been a better option for this type of establishment. I got the salmon $ 23 and 1L water bottle $ 8. With tax and tip $ 40 lunch. Ouch. But that’s to be expected. Thank goodness I was on an all expense paid trip, because I couldn’t justify that on my own, especially since my hubby is the most amazing cook! While I did request no salt/butter, there’s still a way to make it flavorful. But it was pretty bland. At least they didn’t overcook it. But I’ll take bland over greasy any day. I was starving and scarfed down my food. It was edible. I also like the potato leek soup at SoupP better lol. The best part is the service. Always came by to check on me, very friendly and attentive. Plus you can charge it to your room. I’m sure if you’re a big meat eater, you’d like this place. But this is not the type of restaurant I go to on my own.

You will never be disappointed with this place. I am from San Antonio TX we have Bohannans which is one of the top 10 steakhouse and I have been 801 steakhouse in Des Moines, IW. These are unique locally owned top steakhouses. Don’t get me wrong, Ruth Chris and Morton’s are good too but they are national chains not like the Mannys like! This was my 4th visit of Mannys and every time I came to see my buddy here we want Mannys! I ordered my favorite bottle of wine: Col Solare from Columbia Valley Washington ST. The best trust me! We killed 2 bottles last night and we were lucky that one of the bottle was from 2007! I ordered NY strip bone in and my buddy ordered ribeye bone in. What can you say simply the best!!! I will be back again Mannys!!! You are the best!

As a poor college student and under-paid advertising assistant, there were many reasons why I did not frequent the Cities’ premier steak house. So when your fiancé’s boss says to treat yourself to a nice dinner for his birthday, you say YOLO and strut in like a baller. We first took a basic photo in front of the notorious bull picture and walls adorned with endless B&W photos of celebrities who’ve dined at Manny’s. We were seated at a spacious, romantic booth and immediately ordered a bottle of Eroica Reisling(still the best I’ve ever had) and munched on artisanal bread as we perused the leather-bound menus. Our waiter came by with a huge cart of different cuts of meat and seafood, holding each one up and explaining it. Then he got to the oversized lobster, which was ALIVE, and made it dance as he described said lobster’s inevitable future if we were to choose him. We ended up going with the Maine lobster tail(already dead, not the live dancing one), bone-in ribeye and small filet mignon with sides of the hash browns and broccoli with hollandaise. One bottle of wine in the bag, we were feeling p-re-tty good and looking forward to our meals. Clearly, we didn’t know what we’d gotten ourselves into. The food came and true gluttony ensued. The meat and seafood entrees were enormous and delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked to our liking and the Maine lobster tail was buttery and rich and divine. We barely made a dent in the enormous sides before we had to call a truce and box them up. We made out like bandits with leftovers for days. At first, I was a bit skeptical if the high price tag at Manny’s would rival its food. I was pleasantly surprised. The service and high-quality food were flawless. We have been back there several times for special occasions now that we’re not po’ no mo’.

Came in with a large group from out of town and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is conveniently located yet tucked away from the busy streets in Times Square. As soon as you spot the entrance you can see that you’re definitely in for a treat. The staff was very friendly and courteous and sat us right away. We have a table downstairs where the music wasn’t too loud and we can enjoy our meal. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the chilean sea bass with sides of the lobster mash potatoes, scalloped potatoes and veggies. There were too many sides to choose from and was glad I could choose from each of them since we ordered several for the table. Did I mention the service was PHENOMENAL? It wasn’t just one or two waiters helping us, there were several that made sure our experience was flawless. They were going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. I really wanted to enjoy the beautiful trio singing upstairs some more. I could hear their voices downstairs which were AMAZING! The music selection and group were A+ and I hope that during my next visit they will be there. Kudos for the management team and owners for focusing on quality, excellent service, and relaxing environment. All the things you look for in a perfect restaurant!

Still five stars! Manny’s never disappoint! I could have had dined here three more times with work, but I was always out of town for other business that I had to miss it. I missed it once to go to UYE with other Unilocalers. Now tell me that wasn’t love. I missed out on free steak for my Unilocaler friends! They’re so worth it. However, I wasn’t about to miss another one. Though I was really tired after driving 5 hours from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I talked myself into going. I had a thought of bailing several times since the dinner was so late as well. Glad I went! We went to celebrate some of the top performers at work. They really did a phenomenal job and deserved the bludgeon of beef! We were treating them like they just won an Olympic medal. It was that good. Well, one guys was a body builder and Mr. Minnesota at one time. Competition was thick on this table. We started off with a couple plates of the amazing bacon appetizer. I can’t say bacon without saying Sam W’s name. He would totally scream lawwdy on this bacon. So great! We also ordered Scallop Benedicts, a couple dozens of Blue Point Oysters, 2 gigantic lobster tails, and 2 colossal shrimps cocktails. We should have been full after the appetizers but we marched on. When our steaks came, the feast started all over again. Mr. Minnesota was shy at first ordering the Flintstone steak aka Bludgeon of Beef which was basically a big ass rib eye with a whole rib bone. That steak must have weighed at least 5 – 6 pounds! The other guys ordered double porterhouse, a couple filets, and I ordered the bone in filet. Bone in filet is the way to go. It’s so flavorful and there are only two of this in each cow. It’s so expensive but like I said… If you aren’t paying, it’s time to order it. If you are paying — the NY strip here has the best value. We also ordered the hash brown with onion, mac and cheese, mushroom, broccoli, and some fried shrimps. My filet was overcooked. At first I was just going to suck it up and eat it because I was hungry. It was closer to medium than medium rare. I just really couldn’t stand dried pink steak. My boss looked at me and said that if we were paying this much for a steak, I’d better be not less than ecstatic about it. Gaby, our server, convinced me that it was totally fine and it would be really really quick to fire up another one. They brought me a new one pretty quickly and it was red and juicy. Yeah!!! She really did an amazing job taking care of our table all night. Considering there were only 2 pieces of bone in filet in a cow, damn. I powned that cow. Dessert time! Manny’s brownie, cheesecake, banana cream pie, and bread pudding. Those desserts were so huge huge huge! Eight of us couldn’t finish it. It was a great ending to a feast. Not every day you got to eat like this and somebody else forked the $ 3000 to pay for it. For that much money, I do think Manny’s deserved every penny. I have never had less than stellar meal here even though there was mishap. The key was they made it right. If you saw my steak house list, this girl knows steak and I put Manny’s towards the top of that list always.

Manny’s Steakhouse proves that life really is good at the top of the food chain. I actually came across Manny’s online while researching where to eat in Minneapolis online. They were named one of the 10 Best Steakhouses in the World by Men’s Journal on top of countless other awards and every local I spoke to placed Manny’s brand of dry aged steak on their red meat mantel. I figured this was a slam dunk from the start and guess what? I was right. Manny’s is your prototypical chophouse featuring white linen clad tables, light and airy wood everywhere the eye can see and home to perhaps the best waiter line up in the Twin Cities. These guys seemed to impress on all fronts. Then there is the actual product: USDA-certified, dry-aged, and center-cut. all of the steaks are hand-trimmed to exacting specifications and then charred to perfection in a salamander broiler. This is how it is meant to be done folks. My brought forth a gigantic meat cart featuring all of the days offerings while whimsically providing advice on what to expect with each cut. The Porterhouse seemed like the go. I mean a Filet and a New Your Strip? Oh, hell yes. Then the waiter offered a double Porterhouse cut table side for family style enjoyment. «Thank you sir, that will do just fine and throw in order of those Truffle Fries I spied for some high end Steak Frites action». (Note: The Porterhouse was so monstrous it has its one temperature scale thanks to thickness. Medium will result in a Rare and Medium Plus will net a Medium Rare. Order accordingly and know that the wait person will warn you of this while ordering) About twenty minutes passed and the hulking slab of Beef was set before us. It was truly majestic and brought a tear to my carnivorous eye. Charred to perfection outside, a cool red middle. The dry aging process produces this think and nutty ambrosia that will permeate your soul. And then there is the taste itself. Nutty turns to perfectly savory and the charred crust adds the perfect depth to the mouthfeel. That Porterhouse was most certainly on par with Pete Luger’s in Brooklyn and CUT here in SoCal. Perhaps… better? The Truffled French Fries were also no laughing matter as they provided more punch than Floyd Mayweather in the company of a woman. Thick cut Truffle slivers guarantees the luscious flavor of the world’s greatest mushroom in every bite. It is also important enough to mention the fries themselves were deep fried perfectly. Paired with a locally handcrafted Fulton IPA you have a perfect Steak dinner. I was enamored with Manny’s style, service and cuisine and would highly recommend a stop to anyone that happens to be traveling to Minneapolis. The locals are already quite aware of what I am talking about.

I just went to Manny’s for the first time. We were celebrating the last day of work for a co worker. I am glad I had a reservation because we arrived 15 minutes early and still had to wait until the exact reservation. They were jam packed for lunch but the wait staff was prompt with every request we made. I had the cobb salad, it was huge and wonderful, loaded with chicken, bacon, blue cheese and red onions. Our table split the loaded hash browns which I would recommend. 2 pounds of hash with bacon covering the top, then cheese and sour cream. The bread at the table was very good and refills were plentiful. I have not had the steak there but there are many selections for non steak eaters. The décor is very cool, reminds me of the Godfather. I will go again. Check it out if you are downtown for lunch!

Ultra high end steak house featuring colossal food and colossal prices to match. A friend and I stopped in for our annual«guys night out» Christmas splurge leaving spouses and family at home. After all, christmas comes but once a year. I should clarify and note we made reservations-a month out as this place, like most restaurants, is super busy at the holidays. Manny’s has been a feature in the twin cities for a while now and moved to its current location in the über hip W hotel in the iconic Foshay Tower smack dab in down town Minneapolis. When you dine here you can expect top notch service-the kind of place that almost refills your water after every sip-and premium quality food. Ever since they opened one of their bits of table-side theatre is presenting all their food raw at table side to assist you in ordering. Expect to see hugmungous hunks of beef(wrapped in plastic) monstrous veggies and probably a 5 lb live lobster. Remember everything is al a carte but it’s ok to share(unless you are with a colleague in which case expect to have leftovers). While the food is top quality and the service suberb, I just think this place has gotten way to expensive. I ordered a «small» filet — still around 8 ounces — which was one of the cheaper steaks on the menu and the price was over $ 50. They have some monster steaks that exceed $ 100. Remember, again, everything’s a la carte so my friend and I with a bottle of wine, 2 steaks, shared the small hashbrowns and a shared piece of pecan pie — the bill for the two of us was almost $ 300 before tip. I’m sorry but I can get great steaks at lots of places and will even on occassion spend $ 100 per person for a similar meal at JD Hoydts or Capital grill but Manny’s is just too pricey for me now. So unless you are entertaining clients and someone else is paying the bill, make sure you have ample room on your credit card when you dine at Manny’s.

Start to finish, Manny’s hits all the high notes. I brought my friend here for a double celebration dinner. It was almost her birthday and I had just sold my dad’s house. This calls for a classy joint, and Manny’s is just the place! Despite not having reservations, we were seated immediately. We started off by ordering drinks, she the An Epiphany cocktail and I the Of Love & Lust. Both were excellent in their own way, but I typically prefer sweeter drinks and would go with what she got next time. It was not only tasty, but beautiful too. Our waitress was well versed in meat, as one would expect from this type of establishment, and carefully described each cut available that night. They wheel out a cart with beef, pork, seafood, and other options to show you exactly what you’ll be getting. My dining companion picked out the Small Filet Mignon and I went with the Bone-in Ribeye. Both of us were happy with our respective choices and they were cooked to perfection. I’m still a bit skeptical of restaurants that charge a regular entrée price for what would be an included side elsewhere; however, the Vegetables and Potatoes portions we received wiped away any doubt about ordering them. We went with the Asparagus/Hollandaise, served with a decadent sauce, and the Macaroni and Cheese. There was more than enough of everything we ordered to bring home food for another day. Manny’s went above and beyond when it came to dessert. They brought out a giant slice of Baileys Cake on the house. We couldn’t have been happier. If you’re not rolling in dough, this is strictly a special occasion spot. If you’re ordering drinks, sides, entrées, and desserts, expect to pay around $ 100 per person. That being said, it’s absolutely worth it!
