We stopped in today to try the pasties and WOW. First off we were made to feel welcome by owners Pete and Uncle John. Pete was enthusiastic and explained a little bit about the pasties. My husband, who is not a big vegetable eater, looked at the pasties with fear because the rutabaga and onions were scaring him off. I was laughing inside as I convinced him to order the Traditional Steak. Pete recommended the Chicken, Mushroom and Bacon and I happily went with that. TRADITIONALSTEAK(ST) — excellent Beef, potato, onion and swede(rutabaga) CHICKEN&MUSHROOM&BACON(CM) — excellent Chicken, potato, mushroom, onion and bacon FENTIMANS Rose Lemonade — excellent We were going to order fries too but Pete said that wouldn’t be a good idea as he hadn’t made a fresh batch since business was a little slow today(college students out of school). Honest and that was appreciated. Besides the pasties are so good. Pasties are $ 6.49 each but they freeze extras and sell them to you frozen for $ 5 each. Back to my husband — after he ate half of the pasty he asked if we were taking some home. Then he said we needed at least 4. They even gave us a couple of cookies. Lands End is down a hallway in the building and they have several tables. They also play TV shows and movies on the TV. Today was Twilight Zone and that brought a fun discussion with Pete and John that segued into love of theatre. Their collection is eclectic and includes a lot of British Comedy, Dr. Who, Twilight Zone, etc… This is the kind of place I fondly call«a dive.» Excellent food, fun atmosphere and a place where I can see myself returning to often. Now I need your help. I gave them a suggestion of creating a special pasty for Burn’s Night(Robert Burns birthday) — January 25th. It would have to include Haggis(look it up), Neeps(turnips) and Tatties(potatoes). If there is enough interest they may do it. Be brave and eat it with a shot of Scotch. Maybe I will show up with a bottle.

The Pasties at Lands End are the best I’ve ever had outside England or Jamaica. The Steak & Stilton and Chicken Asparagus Pasties were plump, flakey crust and absolutely scrumptious. This was our first trip to Lands End, but definitely not the last. If the great food wasn’t enough, the details of British comedy on the Tele, friendly service, and a fine selection of condiments put this place as my favorite new small plate restaurant for 2016. Tell Pete or his Uncle hi and don’t forget the last bit of the corner is an Apple Pasty for a sweet bit at the end, or start on that end for an early dessert

This place is great! Stopped by soon after they opened on a Tuesday. I had the leek and pork pasty and my husband had a traditional. Both were very tasty and steaming hot inside. We were excited to see dandelion and burdock among the selection of sodas. Will definitely be going back! Like other reviewers have mentioned, it’s not right out on the street or advertised well. Down the hall pass a bike shop and shoe repair. Several tables to eat at if you want to dine in. Oh… And the little bit of apple filling in the corner of the pasty is an added bonus!

Big big fan of pasties and it is hard to get a good vegetarian pasties. I went at the closing hour — my disappointment was pretty evident to the owners and he promptly went in the Kitchen to get four uncooked pasties for me and gave it to me for free. They also gave me directions on how to make it at home which was amazingly quick and easy. The beauty of small little shops and massive generosity they carry. Please visit them! Write your feedback. My soul is happy today.

The best pasty I have had since England. The crust is amazing! Highly recommend. The added touch of apple pie on the end is quite creative. They also sell them frozen to take home and bake yourself.

Both the food and service were excellent, I recommend the Shepherd’s Pie pasty. The apple pie in the corner was a nice touch. Definitely will go back again.

Unique! We just had the pasty! Wow! It was a flavorful meal and I loved the apple pie at one end of the pasty. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. You have to look for this place because it is down at the end of a covered alley way with glass double doors. The doors are set back off the sidewalk. Great find.

I had a bad day, and decided to treat myself with some food. So i found this place on Unilocal. It was hard to locate where it was at first. For those who want to find it, you have to enter the plaza, just push the door and walk in. The owner was so nice, and he recommended the chicken bacon mushroom pie, which was delicious. Crispy crust and not too creamy sauces for the pie, everything was just right. Their fries come in big sizes, and the sauce that comes with them was just tasty, which made me regret for taking too little. Will come back for sure!

Awesome! I didn’t think this was something that I would like but their pasty was so good! I had a chicken bacon mushroom mom. My mom had the traditional. Both great. The man who served us was so nice and personable. I will definitely be back and I wish them the best!

My daughter and I visited based on the Unilocal star rating and reviews(we always look for restaurants that are 4 stars and above) and we weren’t disappointed. The pasty was tender, flaky and filled with delicious ingredients. There were so many choices that I didn’t know what to try. I can’t wait for my next visit and a different option! We also ordered fries and used their special sauce on them. Wow! Try this! You won’t be disappointed!

Convenient location with a wide variety of pasties. Not much for ambiance but not much is needed for a good pasty. And the price was very reasonable, especially with a coupon for 25 percent off. The guy at the counter was very friendly and fast. Well keep this place in mind the next time we’re in Dinkytown.

I feel ashamed I didn’t know about this place until now, delicious! This place isn’t super fancy but it is very clean and the owners are nice. The pastys are ready for you to dine in or take that bad boy for a walk. They also have house made sauce that is kept in the fridge… get it. Get so much of it.

First time here. I have been wanting to try Potter’s Pasties but was too lazy to make the trip but then I found this place when I happened to be in Dinkytown so I figure why not? The pastie was crispy and had some flakiness to it. I can’t stand when something is supposed to have that crispyness/flakiness but doesn’t! I tried their traditional and it was good. Good portion of meats to veggies. Each pastie at the end of one corner has apple pie filling in it which is a great idea and it was good when I bit into just apple pie filling. However, there’s nothing separating the apple pie filling from the original filling so a bit of it does mix together and it’s a kind of weird when you’re expecting meat and potatoes and get meat and potatoes and apple pie filling all in one bite… However, once you get through that little bit of it, all is good again.

I just happened to walk past this little place nestled the back of the Dinkydale Mall building in Dinkytown, and I thought mmm that sounds tasty, which it was The owners are really nice, the food is delicious/fast/filling and the pasty history is really interesting. If you love old British or English comedies than you’ll find a friend in John Earl(one of the owners). We talked about them quite a bit, it was fun. And he gave me some of his favorite chocolate and cream filled biscuits just so I could try them. I will definitely go back sometime, and I would advise others to try out their pasties. Thanks guys Oh and I had one of their authentic Cornish chicken, mushroom, and bacon pasties $ 6.00

Before embarking on our journey for sustenance, my friend and I agreed that the worthiest eating establishment would be the one with the choicest water; all food offered would be but a nice touch. We ventured forth past every other food-nation in Dinkytown and into a well-kept, refined alleyway. Here we found a British land named Lands End Pasty Company, an ironic name considering this would be the beginning of what we hope to be a long and fruitful relationship with an exquisite eatery. As we stepped into the whimsical atmosphere of the restaurant(there were British sketch shows playing on the TV surrounded by an altar of DVD’s and VHS’s of the same genre), a charming gentleman greeted us. He was the most wonderful person we had ever encountered — the poster child of Minnesota nice. After great deliberation and consultation with other patrons(an elderly woman who was granted a third pasty fo free after purchasing two), my friend and I got the potato pasty and tomato-feta-cheese pasty. As we made our transactions, the man at the counter continued to be the best human ever created. When I asked for a water cup, he graciously granted it and even commented that they have ‘great’ water here — a promise that turned out true when we noticed the high class water filtration system. This was already a 10 star experience. Next we sat down to begin consuming the food. As I did so, I noticed a strong Sriracha pairing potential with the pasty at hand, which these wonderful owners had placed bottles of at every table! The food was delicious. We looked up to find a map on the wall akin to a Caribou Coffee chalk board. It asked the patrons ‘where are you from’, but with hilarity all the pins had been preemptively centralized upon Europe. LOL. As we left this beautiful place to eat our harvest on the go, I realized I would need to keep a steady Sriracha supply. The marvelous owner responded to my need by unhesitantly giving me an entire XL plastic condiment cup’s worth of the dunking sauce. This was easily an addition of a $ 3 value to my $ 6 pasty(he squeezed out a third of the bottle). We left the Land’s End and continued to eat outside of its borders. What came next is a revolution in food consumption: As the delightful man behind the counter had happily mentioned to us, the bottom corner of the pasty was filled with an apple pie filling, creating a seamless transition from dinner to dessert, all for the price of $ 6. My friend and I left this experience changed forever, and urge anyone with the desire to live a fulfilling life to make the journey to the Land’s End.

Awesome food! Awesome service and owners are great guys. Support this business! They gave us free fries because we ordered a lot of pasties and also some free desert cookies and my sister got a hat. Super cool ‘family owned’ business in a convenient location.

Tasty and hearty. I’ve tried 3 of their half dozen or so favors and all were solid. Owner is friendly and shop is clean if a bit uninspired. The fries were room temp and seemed like they’d been sitting out awhile. If they could remedy that this place would be pushing five stars.

The traditional pasty is in Dinkytown! There is a nice variety of pasties in this small neat shop at the end of the Dinkydale mall. I prefer the more traditional Cornish style. The golden brown crust is just the right thickness making it easy to eat the pasty outside with no utensils. Very reasonably priced the product is at least a meal for most people. The owner is friendly and will explain the history of pasty making if you should ask. They mention there is an Apple Pie treat at the end of the pasty to appease those looking for desert. I can do without this feature but won’t reject the pasty for this reason. It’s been difficult for businesses to make it in the Dinkydale Mall because people walking past on 4th St., just don’t notice or won’t turn to the cavernous sky-lit historic mall. I would wish many more folks would try different things instead of running to the Golden Arches everyday.
