Stopped in with sunglasses with defective surface that I had purchased sev years ago. Person in store was not willing to work with me at all. Said any type of warranty was up and there was nothing he could do. I will not be buying any more from this store.

Words cannot express the friendly and helpful service I received from the owner, Aldin. He went above and beyond trying to help me get my glasses. I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend his shop to my friends in Minneapolis!

For some reason, my review wasn’t showing… Anyways, here is what I had posted. 1 star because I’m trying to be nice. 2nd star because I liked the style of the frames I picked out. 1) they don’t accept insurance 2) when I asked for the cost of everything, he told me it was $ 200, when he rung me up he told me it will be $ 400. Then when I questioned it, he said«Oh you know what? I won’t charge you for the frames, just the lenses.» Kind of inconsistent, like he thought he would’ve been able to get away with that. Clearly trying to pull a fast one on me. Clearly just trying to make a sale 3) at other places, my glasses would’ve been ready 5 days, or a week to be ready. It took them almost a week and a half, and that’s because I told him I needed it to be expedited 4) I got not-so-brand name glasses for the same price I would’ve been able to get Calvin Klein, Christian Dior or even Michael Kors glasses(of course with my insurance paying $ 95 of it). I didn’t recognize any of the brands at the store. 5) when I got home I decided to google the brand of the glasses I got. The $ 200 pair I chose at the store was $ 60 on amazon. 6) the bottom of the receipt stated no refunds 7) the glasses hurt the back of my left ear and the left side of my nose? But this may not be their fault 8) when I picked it up, I kind of got the feeling he didn’t care how I felt about the glasses. Like I’ve already paid for them so he doesn’t care. Like I stated before, as if he’s just trying to make a sale. I know a lot of people reading this are thinking«Then why did she get the glasses here?» My answer to this is, I was tired and didn’t want to bother to look elsewhere. I just moved to Minneapolis from California and I didn’t know better. If I could do it over again, I would’ve looked around more.

Like many others, I took advantage of a Living Social deal for Eyeswear Optical. The deal was $ 19 and was good on $ 310 worth of frames. The shop was smaller than expected and the selection was a bit different than what I had seen on the website. I actually found a frame quickly and was taken care of without hassle. The entire purchase came out to $ 285 which is about $ 315 less than I usually pay for glasses to correct my wonky vision. The actual frames I selected were less than $ 310 so I lost some of the value in the coupon, however, that was my choice. The glasses came in faster than I expected considering how many people were in the store when I came in. They are a bit flimsier than I expected for a brand new pair of glasses. I didn’t have any issues with the employees or customer service but the selection was lacking. I was happy with what I got for what I paid but I would not come here for a complete pair again unless I had the coupon

I took advantage of the $ 20 for $ 230 Groupon. I was a little confused because the company on the Groupon was something completely different than EyesWear, but after calling they assured me they would take the Groupon. The shop itself was a lot smaller than I was expecting, the other company’s website seemed much larger so I was a little disappointed in the small boutique-y EyesWear. Mainly because I’m very picky about my glasses, perhaps the reason I’ve worn the same pair for 8 years, and often require a large selection. Fortunately, I found a pair I really liked with the help of the assistant(I can’t remember his name, but he was very helpful!). I’m not sure if this is the common thing now a days, remember I haven’t bought a new pair in 8 years, but he kept going on about how they put the prescription on the inside of the lenses instead of the outside which is supposed to be quite innovative? Not sure about that one, but it sounded neat so oh well! Two things I didn’t enjoy about the experience: 1. It took just over 3 weeks to get my glasses in when I was quoted 10 days. Kind of ridiculous when I know places can do it next day. 2. My frames were obviously the examples I tried on off the shelf, as they had the item number painted on with nail polish. It kind of bugs me that they didn’t order brand new ones, or even bothered to scrub the paint off. So, not the greatest of places but I would do it again purely to save the money.

I used a coupon from Living Social Deals off the enternet worth $ 230.00 on a pair of glasses purchased from Eyeswear. The coupon cost $ 19.99. I went to Eyeswear Uptown store on Friday, August 10, 2012. The $ 230.00 did not even cover the cost of the frames. I realized it was a little spendy, but charged it to my Mastercard. He did not give me a bill itemizing my purchase. He said he would send me a copy on the e-mail. That’s when I decided to check on some reviews from previous customers — they were all bad. I sent an e-mail that evening asking my account be credited. Younes(the owner) asked me to call the next day. I called him on Saturday Aug. 11th. He would not give me a straight answer. I then called my Mastercard and they said I needed a Bill before I could submit a billing dispute. So, I don’t have a bill. They won’t give me a bill OR a credit on my account, what can I do? I am very frustrated and upset. I’ve left phone messages today, at their Uptown store and and on the owners cell phone. They have not returned the calls. Since when do you NOTget an itemized bill before you leave the store? He could write anything on it and send it over the e-mail and you would have a hard time disputing it. It’s backwards and poor customer service. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and in 20 days I’ll be able to dispute the bill on my Master Charge.

I live 150 miles from Minneapolis but I wanted to take advantage of a coupon so I bought some glasses here and the saleperson/owner? promised to mail them to me. I followed up with an email(It doesn’t do any good to call, they never answer the phone) and 3 weeks later I still have not received my glasses.

I have really mixed feelings about this store. One the one hand, they sold me damaged goods. On the other hand, they tried really hard(and ultimately succeeded) in fixing it. But the goods still aren’t that great… I’m really proud of the glasses I wear, so before I bought their last Groupon/deal I checked out the website to make sure they had some frames that were cool and edgy enough for my tastes, and figured they did. I found frames I liked and ordered my lenses, but when I picked up my glasses the plastic frames were actually chipped. I had them for about two days and felt like they were pretty flimsy feeling, but ya get what ya pay for, and I’d basically paid for the lenses. In hindsight, I should have ran when I saw frames literally piled on top of one another in the store. Anyway, I took the frames back and asked for a receipt to prove that I’d actually paid for them, since I wans’t given any receipt to start with. I called a few days later and was told they had been meaning to call me and that my frames would be in the next week. Thank goodness I called before I went to the store because the new frames were not in. I called back a few days later and was again told«next week, for sure, I just talked to the representative.» Again, no frames that week, but they promised to call the next Wednesday. No call. I called Thursday and the staff tried to shift the blame and gave me a story about«backordered.» So I finally got a promise of «next week or they’re free,» and I just picked my new glasses up tonight. The plastic frames look dirty like they’re made from a cheap poorly mixed plastic and the lenses clearly do not fit well into the frame — they look like they’ll pop out if I cough too hard. I want to support a young business that is really trying to provide good service, but when the product is shoddy, I’m not enthusiastic.

I haven’t bought glasses for years. I now have to have bifocals for the first time in my life. The man, Mohammed, who helped me was very patient and helpful in answering all my questions. In addition, he and his assistant did a great job in helping me pick out a pair of glasses that look good on me and fit my face well. They are a small store but have a lot of frames considering the size of the place and they have great styles to choose from. I like helping out a local business rather than the big box retail outfits.
