Don’t order the avocado veggie hot sandwich. Period. Very very bland, had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I understand that veggies are bland but this was just a huge disappointment. And for $ 8.00. No thanks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I’ll return again to try something else, just not that.

I always hesitate to go there as it can take forever to get decent, not great food. Today reminded me why I am better off walking an extra 5 minutes to go elsewhere. Took 10 minutes to take my order even though there were only 4 people in line ahead of me. I waited 15 minutes for my food, waiting silently as others who ordered after me, got their food. They dumped a load of fries into my container and then realized she didn’t have enough for another order right behind mine. Saw her take tongs and pick a bunch out of my container and put it in another one. So all in all, 25+ minutes and half an order of fries. Never again. Never ever ever.

Went here for breakfast after another spot I tried wasn’t offering breakfast, they will starting 7⁄27. The ordering process is a bit confusing. You order at the deli, they give you a ticket which you pay the cashier by the drinks. Then you go back to the deli and wait to pick it up. This method probably helps with flow but is hella confusing for a first-timer. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was quite tasty. The veggies are sautéed fresh and are piping hot when you get it. I had mushrooms, peppers, avocado and tomatoes in mine. The veggies were juicy which was good because the eggs were a bit dry. Luckily I had some pico and siracha and added those. They also offer fresh cracked eggs, potatoes and hash browns and meats all al a carte. So if you want two eggs over easy with bacon you’ll get that. I plan to try this place again and see what other options bring me. Based on my omelette this place is good but it’s not great.

This place is terrible. It’s less terrible if you order something fresh. When my company would order boxed lunches when we were in 800 Nicollet we had to eat the carelessly thrown together sandwiches, bags of chips and plastic wrapped cookies or brownies that you’d get at a garage sale. The prepackaged utensils come with the extremely thin napkins that wreak of pepper. The food quality is cheap and leads me to believe they are stocked by the companies that make gas station sandwiches. That’s not fair… For those companies. I would much rather have a gas station sandwich. Now at IDS I thought we were done with them. I was wrong :( The food just isn’t good and certainly not worth the money. There is no doubt why people like the food trucks… The food is a lot better. Even if people think the food trucks aren’t clean or sanitary(they are, actually), they are still a much better option. Personally, I like Cosi in IDS.

What a nice little discovery. I did not even know about this place until i started working in downtown Minneapolis. This is one jewel that, to me, was tucked away within the labyrinth of skyways in downtown. I tried Chicken Sante Fe Sandwich and then i tried it again because it tasted really really good. I personally preferred the regular fries over the sweet potato fries, as the latter seemed to be a little overdone. Plus I can be a little flabbergasted during lunch time so i had trouble figuring out where the queue to order food started and where the cashier was. Also there is free refills on soda everyone!!!

Nothing to rave about… nothing to rant about. Average food for average prices. Always too busy at prime lunch time. Soup selection is welcomed. Decent salads, wraps and sandwiches(I’ve never ordered from the grill). Better than Subway, worse than other available $ 10 choices for lunch.

I used to be a fan of D. Brians about 15 years ago. Their food quality has really gone down and their service at 120 South 6th Street is so horrible. I am surprised people still eat there!

The grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious! Add ham for added flavor(and you won’t feel like you’re ordering off the kids’ menu!). ;) Don’t forget to upgrade from chips to french fries!

Catering… A disaster!!! I called 2 days in a row to place an order and got Anna’s(catering department) voicemail both days with no return phone call. On the 3rd day I called and actually spoke to her only to find out that she passed my order on to another store. No one ever called to confirm that they received our order. I called the store I was«transferred» to and got that person’s voicemail. FORGETIT!!! Not worth the hassle. I called Lund’s/Byerly and they took my order and sent me the confirmation via email 5 minutes later. If you want catering that is easy, smooth and painless I suggest you call Lund’s/Byerly!!!

I’ve had some okay food here and some not so great. I do need to give them credit for having a large selection of freshly made menu items. D’Brian’s is basically your typical cafeteria style made-to-order restaurant. And fortunately for them, there really aren’t many similar options in the Minneapolis skyway. Yeah, it takes a few minutes for your order to be ready, but that’s because they’re making it fresh right in front of you. The salads, panini sandwiches, and breakfast options are generally a good bet for decent food. A bit spendy but quality ingredients. But I had a cheeseburger today that was not at all good. No flavor, thin as a McDonalds patty, a ridiculously oversized bun that enveloped the tiny burger, and small amount of fries for $ 10. You can get a fantastic burger with sit-down service at any number of restaurants downtown for that price so I won’t be ordering a burger from D’Brian’s again. Like others have mentioned, the lines(or lack thereof) can be a bit confusing. It would be beneficial if they used divider ropes to form the lines for the various sections where you can order. If you get there early(11:30am or earlier), it can be an easier process. They have a really decent amount of seating for being a skyway location so you can often find a table at which to dine. In summary, D’Brian’s is an okay spot for a quick breakfast or lunch if you want to have a variety of choices. Don’t expect great food but it’ll do.

My colleague just raves about D. Brians. I on the other hand didn’t find it that great. I wasn’t blown away and thought it was quite pricey. I had the broccoli cheese soup and a bread stick. The bread stick was really blah and a little bit too hard and just felt like an old bread stick that had been sitting around for awhile waiting to be picked. The soup was watery and not that flavorful. I love broccoli and cheese soup. I didn’t care for theirs. So many other great places to grab and go in DT. I’ll have to hit one of those next time.

ALL locations are amazing… order up at the salad, soup or sandwich stand(or all) and have at it. The ingredients are the freshest you can come by – fresh sliced avocado rocks! This place is amazing from a wide selection of breads, meats, cheeses, etc. All the fresh things you want! A must not miss for what is lacking in some other chain delis. The spicy tortilla soup and chicken breast sandwich on rye is to die for… by the way, ask for the fruit on the side(it comes with your sandwich), it will make it soggy!

I’m saving up for my next lunch at D Brians… and at this rate, I’ll be ale to afford a grilled cheese and tomato soup in May of 2014. Don’t get me wrong, the food quality is high. Made to order sandwiches and good sides. However, the meal is so expensive for the quantity of food, you’ll have to turn to skin-peddling just to get a full sized sandwich. The seating area features the occasional outdoorsman(homeless dude). And there is plenty interesting foot traffic from this vantage point in the skyway. I’d recommend this place for an occasional upscale deli lunch.

I only get the soup here: the chicken wild rice, baked potato & tomato/cheese soups are all very good. Dairy overload, but tasty. That in combination with their warm, doughy breadsticks are a perfect quick lunch when I need to get in and out and be back at my desk within 20 minutes. No, it’s not foodie fare but it is solid and I definitely enjoy it.(particularly the breadsticks — I usually get 2!)

It was a truly sad day, my foodie buddy was moving back to the east coast. Our last meal together out on our Twin Cites expedition to try new restaurants was coming to an end. He needed to be back for a meeting, so we decided on D’Brians, which is 2 blocks from our Target Headquarters. The line was long, but I ordered my chicken Cuban panini in about 2 minutes and I went to pay. I had a $ 5 gift coupon, so my meal with a Diet Mountain Dew was $ 4. The process was very smooth, the cooks flew the sandwiches out with great efficiency and we had our food after about 10 minutes after entering the establishment. The bread was toasted wonderfully and the banana peppers were a sweet touch to the flavor. The chicken was medium sliced and it made for a nice Cuban. Again, Allie’s still has the best Cuban in the cities, but this wasn’t too bad, about number 7 in the cities. Just the right amount of mustard on this baby and the accompanying potato chips were awesome. Not a huge chip fan, but these were GOOD! Great spiced flavoring and I think they are made there. The pickle spear on the side always makes me giddy. The place is always packed for lunch and I have heard the soup is awesome. Overall, I walk by this place about 10 times a week, but I haven’t eaten here. A nice place for lunch, not the best, but not bad at all.

I only go here if I’m meeting someone for lunch and they’ve already picked the place. Don’t get me wrong — the food’s fine, but it’s nothing to write home about. The prices are a tad too expensive for what you’re actually getting. A small cobb salad is $ 7 and for that price I’d rather get one from my many other skyway options and it will taste better than something I could make at home. Also, you can’t go to this location at noon, because by the time you make it through the tortuously long lines, the seating area is completely full.

The daily conversation between myself and the(married) dude who rings up my coffee + self esteem carb goes thus: Him: How’re you? Me: Good thanks, how’re you? Him: Pretty lonely. Glorious.

I come here for three things usually: 1) the best chocolate chip cookies on earth 2) excellent coffee 3) A bowl of my favorite Chicken n’ Wild Rice soup D’Brians has catered my companies meetings more often than not, and their boxed lunches are okay. Service can be a little slow during peak periods, so try to get here before 11:30 if you can.
