Beer, cafeteria style. Come on in, pay for a glass, get a tour of the taps(and a sample). Then pour your own beer! Need another? Simply pay for another glass and pour your own. I must say, this is a great alternative to taproom hopping. They have a great selection of MN beers on tap. From seasonal to IPAs to ciders. There’s something for everyone. Even Mexican Coke! Need some food? Well they have it! We shared a Meat and cheese platter. While it was pricey, it gave a decent amount and the flavors on the platter were awesome! Blueberry cheese, pickled jalapenos, meats that I can’t even name and toppings that added so much to the party on the tongue. The people there are super helpful and knowledgeable. I look forward to seeing what new beers they’ll have next time I stop in.

New place to drink local craft beer in Northeast? We had to check it out. The atmosphere is welcoming with large communal tables. It was a little confusing to figure out how it all worked, but luckily we had read their website ahead of time. We grabbed glasses and went back to pick(and pour) our beers, but it seemed as though the keg house was understaffed and it was difficult to get samples. There were 4 stations with 4 types of beer each, but only 2 staff members with sample cups and a lot of customers. I saw multiple people try to get samples themselves since it wasn’t easy to tell you weren’t supposed to, and they all got scolded. After getting our beers we went up to the kitchen window to order some food items. Our group shared the pretzels and hummus to start. The warm pretzels came with 2 delicious dips, and we would definitely get them again. The presentation of the hummus was spot on, but unfortunately the flavors were a little dull. I had the mixed green salad for dinner, and I thought the pickled shallots and marinated tomatoes complemented each other well. We’ll be back again, but I hope they have more knowledgeable staff to highlight the local beers.

This is a cool concept, in that you pay $ 6 for a pint glass and can choose any of the 16 beers on tap to pour yourself. My one complaint is that they give people an option to reuse their glass instead of grabbing a new one. Seemed a little unsanitary to me and grossed me out… When we arrived at 9:45 pm, they had florescent lights on in the main area which made it feel like a school cafeteria. They dimmed them around 11 — seemed odd since they have awesome filament light fixtures over every table. It’s a pretty chill crowd. Nobody seemed visibly intoxicated and the noise level was pretty quiet. Nice place to have a conversation without yelling. The soft pretzel was awesome… might go back just for that!

This is an interesting concept that could have been executed better. You pay $ 6 upfront for a pint glass that you get to pour yourself in the tap room. Each additional beer is another $ 6 and you can reuse your glass or get a new glass. There are 16 taps, which isn’t that impressive of a number considering there are bars around time with 50+ taps and because there are only 16 taps, you’re not going to be trying anything new if you’re into the craft beer scene in Minneapolis. Seems like the taps aired on the side of popularity rather than new. We were a bit disappointed because the concept of the pour yourself would be cooler with more outside options like Magic Hat or if there was a higher upfront cost and unlimited refills. The communal tables and order yourself food was great, but the bright fluorescent lights were not. Agree with the other Unilocal reviewer who said it’s like walking into a school cafeteria. The noise level is moderate so it would be good to grab a drink and catch up, but based on our first visit, nothing particularly special we’d come back for.

This is an AMAZING new place in NE Minneapolis! CHECKITOUT! BEER — If you love craft beer, check it out! Not only do they have an exceptional selection(16 taps!) of local, Minnesota craft beer — but you also get to POURYOUROWNPINT! An incredible new experience! Plus, there are friendly, knowledgeable«tap-tenders» who will give you tons of info about all the beer on tap, provide you with samples of the beers to ensure that you love each beer you select! It’s better than any wine bar experience I’ve had, mainly because the taptenders are super approachable and helpful. FOOD — It’s awesome to have a craft beer bar with it’s own kitchen. I love food trucks, BUT this kitchen is KILLER. Great sandwich and salad options. Not to mention that they have all the best local meats and cheeses(from RedTable Meat Co.) ANDAKI’s pretzels with homemade dipping sauces — one word — DELICIOUS!!! SPACE — It really has a german beer-hall feel. And the long, gorgeous wooden tables(made locally!!!) are such fun because the communal seating encourages you to get to know your neighbors. Which is perfect, because they are inevitably friendly Minnesotans with an interest in craft beer!
