Butch’s Nuttin Butt BBQ truck is owned by Mr. Butch, and he had been cooking up BBQ for people for a long time; he finally opened up his BBQ truck back in ’10, which is seasonal, available between April and October. The menu has a good variety, offering items such as sandwiches(pulled pork, pulled chicken, burgers, corn dogs, chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, etc.), platters(burger, pork, hot dog, corn dog, etc.), ribs, and sides(cole slaw, baked beans, macaroni salad, hush puppies, ec.). I tried the Pulled Pork platter, which came with a choice of 2 sides and 3 hush puppies. I opted for the macaroni salad(which had a nice coating of the dressing, but not too creamy; very fresh) and baked beans(tasted like simmered beans that had a lot of flavor to it). The pulled pork is Carolina style, but I was surprised that it wasn’t too vinegary, but had a nice subtle taste to it; fresh with a little tang; I just wished I had asked for some hot sauce! The cole slaw was pretty okay, but the star of the show was the hush puppies — fried fresh, these little babies had a crispy exterior with a lovely moist interior — lots of flavor, and it is literally some of the best hush puppies I’ve had EVER!!! YUM! Come later in the day for the ribs, as they cook it in the late morning(takes about 2 – 3 hours)! Butch himself was there, and he was pretty friendly and made great recommendations. This was a great little find in Mineral: D +owned by Butch: D +Carolina-style pulled pork(makes it lean by removing the fat/gristle) +hush puppies! :D +baked beans! +macaroni salad! +seasonal; open between April and October!
