Food is descent. I’m not a fan of their chips. I’ve had better Mexican food at other places. I find the staff to be average at best. I personally think it used to be better when it first opened and had different management.

What a HUGE disappointment! ZERO stars. First, we asked for smoking for 2 people and was told that there was a private party in the smoking area. We did get a table quickly in non-smoking. Waitress was great. The food, well, a totally different matter! After waiting 15 minutes, the waitress came and said they were out of Mexican rice and said they were substituting a bean soup and was that ok? I said we had specifically wanted Mexican for the rice. Before we could make a decision, our plates arrived, not allowing us the option of just leaving. The refried beans were not seasoned and tasteless. The cheese enchilada was just a corn tortilla wit cold cheese which was NOT microwaved long enough to be edible. The Queso was tasteless and watery. The Bean soup was supposed to have Chorizo in it. ITHADWEINERS, not Chorizo! We asked the waitress and she said she guessed they were out of Chiorizo also. When we went to pay, the owner and his wife were at check stand. My husband told them the problems and they said ‘was everything o.k.’ he said no and explained again. They ARGUED that the wieners were actually Chorizo, even after I pointed out the waitress said it wasn’t. They were RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! There was not even an «I am sorry» or «we will cover the Iced Tea» or «we will discount you next time». The wife said«oh, well». To top things off, I was sick all night after eating the 1⁄3 of my food I did. For the $ 35.00, we could have eaten MUCH better at Taco Bell 3 times! This was the first and last visit here. I may have overlooked the owners attitudes IF the food had been edible!

We really like El Paseo. The service is good, and the food is always tasty, but the new shrimp cocktail, while very tasty, contains tough shrimp. They cooked the shrimp too long. The other shrimp dishes are great, and if they shorten the cooking time, this one will be, too!

This is a staple of Mineral Wells. Anyone from Mineral Wells has no need to read this review – we’ve all been there. This is really the nicest Tex-Mex restaurant in Mineral Wells, and I love to take my mom and brothers whenever I make it home for a visit. I always get the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The prices are reasonable, and the food is of decent quality. I would definitely suggest stopping in if you are visiting or driving through Mineral Wells. The only unusual part is that they put paprika on most of the dishes. My family is not very fond of paprika, so if you are in the same boat, be sure to check the menu before ordering. Overall, I would suggest stopping in for meal and seeing what Mineral Wells has to offer!
