Zenden Lounge

Hotel priced drinks are fun, right? The décor is quite cool with glowing tables and such. I went here for an event and probably wouldn’t go back unless it was for another event.

Here’s what you need to know about Zenden:
1. It’s a hotel bar, with all that comes with it (overpriced drinks, I’m looking at you)
2. Décor is a weird 500 laser pointer dot machine thing that projects laser pointer dots all over the room. I’m serious.
3. «Untz, untz, untz» music. When we arrived, no one else was in here, so the bartenders thoughtfully cranked up the shitty music so we couldn’t hear each other.
Having said all this… if you’re attending an event at the hotel and are jonesing for a decent drink, they have you covered.

You know, ive been invited here but embarrassed to say never made it here til now. It was Halloween and we were the only ones in costume… most of the clientele looked like they came from a wedding or convention maybe? The crowd was diverse and everyone was pretty dressed up. They had a dj playing a good variety… rock, to POP to some hiphop. The atmosphere was really classy, big booths with low lighting and dark colors. Really nice– I’d definitely come back.
My fav part– when I asked at the crowded bar if I could buy 1 drink with a card I didnt get the «we have a $ 20 minimum, dont u want to keep it open, etc.» They were very friendly, took my order within literally 5 secs gettin up to the bar (despite it being crowded), and the drink was well poured– $ 9.50 for a tall cherry three olives and diet coke. Yea!

Tried to go to the zen den, but I was denied entrance because of my «apparel». I was wearing a button up collar shirt, black trousers, and brown leather shoes. This has never happened to me and I’m still wondering what the doorman was thinking.
Very lame.

Located in the Intercontinental Hotel, Zenden is a really cool swanky bar that draws a pretty diverse crowd of people all just looking to have a good time. Every time I’ve been here I’ve felt a totally laid back and fun vibe from everybody there. It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink, or dance with your friends. Also since it is located in the hotel lobby it appears to be a pretty good place to hit on bridesmaids.
