There’s clearly a target customer that they want to serve if your not that complete waste of time

They no longer serve food. Hours have changed to Thursday through Saturday nights only. Hookah’s are still available. Vibe varies by night, so does music, sometimes house, sometimes hip hop.

I am sorry to give a low rating for this place. why such a low rating ?? MAINLY because of the identity crisis !! is this a bar? a club ? a hookah bar? wine bar? tapas place? a master of all trades !!! I went here couple of times because my friends wanted to try this place out. the service was really good. the cocktails were really good. the deco was kinda neat and I would say it’s done well. wine was actually great too.(so I feel bad for my low rated review). Other than trying the place out since it’s relatively new in town, I would not return. I may just go to a different tapas place, or wine bar or hookah bar or a club depending on the mood I am in :) I do wish them success just because of all the effort they have put into transforming the place!

We ate here tonight and the food was excellent as was the service. If you like small plates this is the place, best in Milwaukee. I hope they add a few more items to their menu. We will be going back! Try the dates, beef skewers, Greek salad, and the eggplant all were excellent. Save room for desert.

A group of 12 people went to lucid on a Friday night and one of our members was asked to take of their cap. He asked why should he take of his cap and the bouncer said he didn’t like his attitude. The bouncer had absolutely no discretion and refused to let him in even after an apology. We saw another gentlemen walk in with a cap two minutes later. Clearly, the rules don’t apply to everybody. In my opinion, the bouncer was on a power trip and was absolutely out of line. Needless to say, 12 of us left and went somewhere else. I tried to call lucid to explain what happened next morning and nobody really cared. We were willing to book one of their banquet halls and will obviously not do so now.

Unfortunately, Lucid completely misses the mark. I have come here multiple times, and while their signature cocktails(almost never available, however) and dance floors(with DJs that are usually late) are nice, I have nothing positive to say about how they treat their customers. Each time I brought friends to Lucid, I was sorely disappointed by inadequate and rude staff, including my very last visit, in which 12 people were turned away at the door. I politely asked to speak to the manager and was respectful to both him and the bouncer on behalf of one of my friends that had a misunderstanding with the two. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to realize that it was a misunderstanding, and therefore I left with 11 other people. Trying to discuss the matter with another manager, I never received a call back. Another manager from Umami Moto was so kind as to speak with me and contact Lucid’s manager, but still no call back. I was also considering hosting an event in their«Garden» room with 50+ people, but that will not be happening either. I am so sorry to say this lounge is not worth the time, money, or effort. On multiple occasions, they have treated my friends and other customers as rudely as I have almost ever experienced in Milwaukee. If you want the real deal, I would visit Plum Lounge in downtown Milwaukee right off of Cathedral Square. Great service, friendly staff, a better dance vibe, and an ultra comfortable lounge with a fire-bar. THEY are the place to go. Lucid acts in its name only one way; dismissiveness and mistreatment for their customers.

The only thing I can say was that the décor looked nice but a bit over whelming. The negatives, I do not eat pork(Jewish background) and am shocked that a Mediterranean restaurant makes pork entrees??? Pork Kifta I have never herd of such a thing. There chicken shawerma was not shawerma but just kabobs. Service was slow but not terrible, considering we where the only table on a weekday night. The food was flavorless and over cooked. Would not return better options else where.

Tried the new Surg place last night during a promo for ½ off all the food. Overall, it was very good with just minor issues. This is the old Kennedey’s/Tangerine location which has been reinvented many times. The new space is very modern and sleek, resembling a South Beach lounge. Filled with silver walls and ceiling, comfortable booths and high tables. Abstract shaped sliding panels conceal the dance floor in the back. The lighting is odd, rather bright especially when seated at a booth it was downright harsh. It seems clearly designed to compete with the popular Casablanca up on Brady Street. The food was quite good. We started with a Greek salad. Being Greek, this is a dish I grew up with and something I really love. This was a nice salad with chopped romaine, cherry tomatoes, purple onion, feta cheese. The issue here was the dressing. Greek salads normally include pepperocini as well as a dressing pretty heavy in red wine vinegar. This salad had very little dressing on it so we asked for more. It was mostly olive oil so the salad really lacked acid. There was a nice hint of parsley in there but it also needed oregano. The next dish was Kefta. Kefta is a turkish dish that is combined ground beef and lamb seasoned heavily with garlic, cumin, etc. It is usually rolled into little cigar shapes. This one was rolled onto chopsticks. It is served with basmati rice and Tzatziki sauce. The Tzatziki was delicious and tangy, just as it should be. The issue with dish was the meat. It seemed wrong to me. It had a very peculiar and unpleasant smell. I’m guessing it was not fresh. It also seemed undercooked as the inside was very purple. We both avoided it after a bite or two. The total winner dish was the masala chicken and lentils. The chicken is fried with a nice crust of flavorful skin. Masala is an Indian term which really means«spice blend» but it usually includes some curry powder, cumin, fenugreek, etc. which you associate with Indian food flavor. This dish was absolutely delicious. The service was casual, attentive and friendly. We both enjoyed a couple creative craft cocktails. The place allows hooka smoking right in the same area as dining. To me that is VERY off-putting. Hookah smoke is just as carcinogenic as cigarette smoke, actually in some ways it’s worse. I don’t want the neighboring table’s billows of smoke wafting at me while I’m trying to eat. Just be advised what you’re getting into. If Hookah dining is your thing, then you’re fine. Some nice things happening here. There’s room for a little polish.

Went here for their happy hour($ 5 rail drinks) on a Thursday. Great price for decent rail liquor! It was also ladies night so they changed their special later on in the evening to $ 5 martinis! Food was good … Order the chorizo stuffed dates, chicken shawarma and Harissa chicken lollipops! I would skip the falafels though, too dry for my taste.

I went to Lucid Lounge and The Garden(Owned by the same people, same establishment) a few days ago for an after party and god was it a mess. They are the same place, when booking we were told the lucid lounge and the garden are a shared space(So that is why this review is here) 1) The owner and the event manager do NOT talk to each other, the contract was signed a month in advance and the day of when people started to arrive the owner was in full confusion as he had no idea about the events specifics. DONOTBOOK parties here! YOUWILLREGRETIT. 2) The bar is not meant for large groups, the bouncers and the bar tenders do not know how to serve large groups in a quick fashion. We had lines going down the street as the bouncers could not for the life of them make lines go fast. People were waiting 20+ minutes for drinks. 3) The owner did not give two fucks about anyone and just said«yeah this was my bad, sorry but please leave now» thanks for ruining a perfectly good night. 4) I went here on another occasion for hookah and it was average at best, the servers have a real attitude problem but it was a better experience than my last to say the least. Would NOT recommend, was HORRIBLE experience.

I’ve seen this space be re-invented over the years, so here’s Lucid– A hookah lounge with some pretty fancy lighting going on. I went for happy hour to celebrate my sister’s bday and I strongly recommend it– half off hookah and $ 5 drinks? Yes please! You’ll definitely be happy you tried it. The small plates we ordered were tasty and a few girls marveled that they were«small plates»(eg. The chicken shawarma came with rice and 3 chicken shawarma skewers). We had a pretty large party and management sent a few extra small plates(because they were awesome) that ended up being pretty delicious. My favorite were the chicken lollipops, a little on the spicy side but finger lickin’ good. The service was ok. We were pretty much the only party there, with the exception of a couple of other people. But that being said, the coal guy let our coal go out a few times, and at the end of the night we were telling the waitress how many drinks we ordered– not a great idea if you drank everything you say you ordered. Although I give kudos to them for splitting the check for such a large party, not all places would have been willing to do that! So far, I’m in like with this place. Good food, hookah, and some mood lighting. What more could you ask for?

SO Disappointed! I had never been to Lucid and was testing waters, as they just opened and I was interested, because I have been going to Casablanca for years. I went to Lucid this last Friday with two of my friends, none of us had ever been here, so we dressed casually, just like we would for Casablanca. We were met at the door by a VERY unfriendly woman and gentlemen. They looked at one of my friends, who was wearing a american eagle sweater(not hoodie, not sweat shit, but button down sweater), khaki pants, and nice dress shoes, and informed us that his pants were«too baggy». Now I would like to point of the fact that we were a group consisting of an African-American male and and African-American woman. We were very thrown off by this because his pants were in fact tighter than the bouncers pants. We pointed this out to the bouncer and he just replied«it ain’t gonna happen». But Waite, that’s not even the kicker, an other group of people(Caucasian) walked in and one of the gentlemen in their group was wearing the EXACTSAMEPANTS. I understand that water street has a dress code, but this was absolutely unacceptable and I was very thrown off. I will definitely be telling my friends NEVERTOGOTOLUCID. Im really not sure who you guys think you are, you just opened last week and already are getting a bad name for being racist. We ended up going to Casablanca and had an amazing time. Good luck Lucid. Way to make a good first impression.

I want to give Lucid a 5 soooooo bad, but i cant! This is a hookah lounge that will be worth trying. It is in the space of Kennedys on Milwaukee across from Cubanitas. Outside it doesn’t scream hey come here you will enjoy it. However on the inside you will love it. The inside is set up like a lounge with booths and tables spread out. The décor very nice and bold lots of misshapes and ice crystals. The Garden which is attached to Lucid is a space for parties and gatherings. The rear of Lucid opens up to another space for dancing or lounging as well. The best part of Lucid is the Hookah. They come out in a ice bucket to keep them cold. The use coconut natural coals to light the hookahs not the quick lights. The flavors are standard. The bar is fully stocked as well. I ordered a hookah it was on point no complaints extra point for the half off! I had a Bacardi Mixer which was 5 bucks. I cant review about the small plates that they have i haven’t tried them. I have seen a couple on a menu i would try however i can see myself paying entrée prices for small plates. This is why i didn’t give it a 5 star. Happy hour is one of the best in the city. Alot of the drinks are 5 bucks small or tall and the hookah is half off. Hookah is usually 20 to 50 bucks depending on where you go. I forgot to mention there is happy hour on Sunday from 4 to close. You can beat that. Other days its from Monday thru Thursday 4 to 7 I believe. The staff here are very nice and social. Dont you hate going to a place and the staff members dont talk or are to engaged in work gossip to be social with you? If you do so do I. I will be sure to become a regular. I think that it will be even better once they work out the grand opening quirks and attract a greater customer base. Otherwise i’ll see you soon.
