Since I first tried this restaurant over a year ago, I haven’t been able to stop eating the delicious food they serve. It feels like you just have walked into a cozy food joint somewhere in the islands =).The food is consistently hot, fresh and delicious each time(talking about made with love) you have to try it. The service is fantastic! A little side note: It is a very popular restaurant so you may have to wait for your order, but if you can’t, call ahead and they’ll get it ready for you. If you’ve never tried Jamaican cuisine before, let this be your first stop. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Very quiet and fast service. Had the beef patty and it was so good, was debating if j should have one to go :). We also had 2 orders of the jerk chicken small with gravy, 1 had cabbage and the other one has salad. There was no plantain today but that was fine, we got our order in a timely manner. And we enjoyed every bite of the jerk chicken with just the right amount of spice. The sauce gave it that extra kick I will be going back here again and maybe trying the oxtail

The food is great here. It’s so good that on any given night you can go here and expect to wait 30minutes to an hour for takeout, which is about the average. While the food is good the service is horrendous. They are out of about 75% of the menu at every point that I’ve been there. The payment system is slow and antiquated and with only one staff person in front it makes it hard to just order and get your food quickly. I would go here again but I wouldn’t do it on an empty stomach.

Friggin delicious. We had jerk chicken and jerk pork with rice/beans and cabbage. The meats were super tender with great smokey flavor. The gravy was a delicious addition to the rice, although I’d recommend ordering it on the side so you can control proportions(It was a bit salty). The service at the counter was super friendly and helpful, since I wasn’t familiar with all the menu items. They were out of plantains which made me a sad panda, but everything we did have was really wonderful. The space inside is big enough that you can enjoy your feast comfortably there. Meager décor. There will probably be a line of people so don’t come here in a hurry.

The food is very very yummy as well as authentic, I’ve went there three times this week alone ! I always get the jerk and stewed chicken combination plate. The meat is tender and juicy and before you know it it, s gone. The only thing I may bring to their attention is to put more meat on the plate, or maybe it’s so good I just don’t notice I’m eating it so fast, either way more meat please !

Yum! Went for lunch, quiet, fairly quick, hot, and delicious. The large size is large, worth it. The sauce on the side was the best, sweet and tangy with a little spice to it.

Authentic Jamaican cuisine. I’ve been craving Island food recently because I really need a vacation. I brought up my craving at work and a coworker told me about Uppa Yard. I stopped by around 7:45pm on a weeknight and there were few people in line to order. They have a dining area but everyone was ordering take out. The interior of the restaurant is fantastically bright, clean, and Jamaican. There is a large tv that was playing awesome Jamaican music videos during my visit. I ordered a large order of the curry chicken and jerk chicken. They have multiple sides and I opted for plantains and rice(it’s a Caribbean red beans and rice mix). I only waited about 7 minutes before my order was ready. I must add that the men working were so friendly and funny. I took the food home and had a massive feast. The curry chicken was amazing!!! It was perfect and easy to separate from the bones. If you have never been to Jamaica(not the touristy area) or had real authentic food then please beware of the different style of cutting up meat. It is chopped, rather than carved, so bones are everywhere. Don’t break a tooth!!! Anyway, I highly recommend the curry chicken. The plantains were perfect, I could have eaten 5 pounds of them. And I love, love, LOVE the rice and beans!!! The jerk chicken was also very good, however it was less spicy/zippy than other jerk chicken I have consumed(and made myself). It is a good option for someone new to Island food or not too fond of spicy food. Go ahead and get the large order. It is only a couple dollars more than the small and the leftover are fantastic! I would definitley return, and will likely stop by just for side orders of plantains and rice.

Update: JUSTSTICKWITHIRIEPALACEONAPPLETON. I’m not sure what they’re putting in this food but I’ve gotten really sick from the curry chicken here. My brother also stopped by the next week and he and his girl friend both got sick as well(from the brow stew chicken and curry chicken). I wish I could give zero stars. :(

A gentleman at work gave me a flyer about a new Jamaican restaurant in Milwaukee. I looked at the flyer, did not recognize the address so I left it on my desk. The following week, I was craving some spicy food but couldn’t find this flyer :(A couple of weeks later, I was driving from work to my hotel on this new route that I stumbled upon.(There is always some kind of construction on the highway, so I try to take backstreets. lol). As I was driving, I caught a glimpse of a Jamaican flag… I made a quick turn around and saw that it was a Jamaican restaurant. I was inner fat girl ecstatic!!! I think i went into the restaurant with a big grin on my face. I went in, ordered and was very please with the price. I picked up a flyer and saw that it was the same establishment that the gentleman for work had given me. As a matter of fact he was there :). I usually get the large portion which is good enough for 2 servings. I have been back there every week since then. They do take phone orders, and the staff is efficient, courteous and professional

The curry chicken was very delicious! The food was served hot. So worth the wait for your order.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to try different types of food. They have a really nice selection from curry goat to oxtail. So after a couple minutes of figuring out what I wanted(i wanted everything on the menu) I decided I’d go with the jerk chicken platter –my favorite with a side of plantain and rice and peas, don’t forget to add ginger beer to your order. There’s ample seating available. The service was really fast from the time I ordered to pickup was less than 5 minutes-I had just started to enjoy the music(Sean Paul) blaring through the speakers :) The meal was soo good, I have leftovers for dinner tomorrow night.
